I want my fried tofu delivered by an 86. I hope I do not need a car to get there, I always end up driving at the wrong lane (in Ireland at least) This post has been edited by r35gtr on Sep 11 2016, 08:04 PM |

Anything's accessible via JR, you just gotta walk from the station to the actual shop ~ ☆

I guess I could rent a car (is that easy for foreigners?) but then I would need to translate my drivers license in the embassy which sounds like a big hassle Maybe some random street racer could take me up to the hill edit: Is there a list of adresses of famous Initial D places? This guy found the tofu store, has anybody the adress for it? http://forums.nicoclub.com/the-real-initia...no-t356992.html This post has been edited by hackgrid on Sep 12 2016, 03:36 AM |

Tofu Shop's not there anymore. 5km isn't that bad of a walk. AAA can make you a ridiculously kindergarten craft looking "International Driving Permit" That works in lieu of your license. If you absolutely must take public transit to and around Haruna: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e7480.html. Hope you speak and read a minimal level of Japanese to find some lodging if you get lost or stuck out there. Otherwise there's onsen resorts around the area but they can be pricy. If you go for anything at least go experience an onsen instead ofl just Car tour stuff. From experience- if you really want to do Initial D tour, just rent a car for the day. It makes getting around Gunma so much easier and getting to the turn offs easy for photos and taking in the sights. Otherwise you're on a bus and your view and stops are limited. Obviously don't be a hoon. You're there to sightsee, not act like a criminal. This post has been edited by JKaiba on Sep 12 2016, 11:01 AM

I had this posted on the facebook group page many moons ago and a certain site owner decided against promoting it (or, more probable, he's just lazy).

IDW God Member Group: Members Posts: 151 Member No.: 16,046 Joined: Feb 19th 2006 Location: Update Profile | I am very sorry, that this took so long! Hopefully someone is still interested! :-) Here are some pictures from my travel from Shibukawa JR Station (the old man from the "Shibukawashi Information Centre" was very helpful with the busses and had Initial D stuff in his office!) to D'z Racing Cafe Garage (3715-1 Shibukawa, Gunma 377-0008, Japan) (they also helped us with the bus, I think it was 2-3 transfers to other busses) to Lake Haruna. Unfortunately we were there out of season, so there only were like 3 busses / day and we were completly alone in bus and at the lake! A old lady came from one of the businesses, to offer us tea and look at her initial d merchandise, very nice! :-) We only met very nice people on that day, which helped us very much! Traveling to Shibukawa was a bit hard, since there were no english signs or texts, even at the train from Tokyo, so I had to compare the Kanji like pictures We got an used bus map from the information office, which the worker there circled our stops, but unfortunately there were already many different markings from different people Travelling by bus is something I would really not recommend, unfortunately there were no racers there to drive up to the the lake Some nice family offered to take us with them, but they only had one free seat in one of smallest cars I have ever seen So there is the Album on IMGUR (73 pictures which should cover the whole trip! - on April 9th 2017): https://imgur.com/a/eC7vYzp (it seems the pictures are out of order, sorry! ) I forgot, I also made a very anti-climatic "bus-drifting" video for the corners of Mount Haruna/Akina ;-) https://www.veed.io/view/bf9cd1ca-90fa-43b9...dc-c38810071b6f Have fun!
