DOWNLOADS Disc 1 (594.8MB) Disc 2 (594.5MB) Artwork (64.5MB) COMPILATION DETAILS I compiled everything using Adobe Audition 1.5 then saving the whole multitrack to WAV. All files used were lossless FLAC (and verified). I compiled the tracklist using the pattern I described in the tie-breaker survey (see results downloads below) since the majority wanted the songs compiled in a pattern. If you don't want to check the PDF document, the basic pattern was this:
Six songs were chosen for the First Stage, two for Second Stage, two for Third Stage, six for Fourth Stage, six for Fifth Stage, six from both Battle Stages and two from the Extra Stages. So, if no more songs were avaialble for selection in a stage, I would skip to the next available one. For the artwork, there are two versions: digital version and print version. The digital version is for viewing on the computer and the other is, like the name implies, printing. The print version follows the logic of a book. For exemple, when you open the booklet, you see page 1, on the left, and page 2 on the right. However, the sheet of paper page 2 is on is shared with page 3 and the two others on the opposite side. So, don't be alarmed if it seems off: it's normal. VOTING RESULTS I bet you are all interessed in knowing what are the results are. Of course, you can deduce the winners from the tracklist above since they were used in their ranking order. But, I'm gonna show the top 10 picks (or only 5 for the Extra Stage since there are only 9 songs) for each stages and then, offer you a download of the full results. Here we go then. Bolded = selected First stage
Second stage
Third stage
Fourth stage
Fifth stage
Battle stages
Extra stages
As you noticed First and Fifth Stages had ties for the 6th place. So, we had to organize a second survey. This one only ran for 24 hours to decide who would be chosen. Those were the results: "Heartbeat" by Nathalie (won against "No One Sleep In Tokyo" by Edo Boys) "Rockin' Hardcore" by Fastway (won against "A Perfect Hero" by Chris Stanton) Also, in that second survey, we asked for the compilation order and some ideas. Let's read the ideas and answer them.
Answer: What would be the point then of doing an Initial D-themed compilation if there are songs that are not from Initial D or Initial D compilations?!
Answer: Yes.
Answer: No problems, enjoy!
Answer: Well, the pattern won so it kind of achieved what you suggested.
Answer: Rejoice, it is!
Answer: This compilation is not a mix, however, I'll take that in note when making the megamix version of this release due next month.
Answer: No. The point of this compilation was to compile the best Eurobeat tracks voted by the community. Even if I could potentially accept the song since it's in Initial D, I do not have a secured version of the Sound Files for the First Stage. In fact, I only have Sound Files for Third, Fourth and Fifth Stages.
Answer: That's kind of ridiculous, so no. By the way, the name was already decided when you input that anyway.
Answer: No, I think he should drive a Lada.
Answer: There's a box! It says above that I can leave it blank but... but... but... the temptation... it's... it's hard. I MUST WRITE SOMETHING AAAARGH.
Answer: Unfortunately, from the 74 who took the tie-breaker survey, the majority decided for the pattern. For the megamix, it's noted for sure. I'll make one. I have to say that it popped up briefly in my mind before during the whole month the main survey was up. That's all for the ideas. Oh, and, by the way. 242 people answered the main survey which ran for 6 weeks. 74 voted for the tie breaker which ran for 24 hours. PDFs OF RESULTS DOWNLOADS Main survey: Click here Tie breaker: Click Here Downloads Q&A Q1. Any passwords? A1. Nope. Q2. I want *put lossy format here* A2. Hmm, no. Those files were meant to match a professional release in quality. So, lossless had to be used. Q3. Any tips for printing? A3. Unfortunately, I cannot help you much with that. Google will be your best friend for that. For what I know though, I know that there are printers that can print on printable-labels CD-Rs. For the booklet, be sure that your printer can print, in color, on glossy paper (ideally) and print of both sides. That's all I can say. Q4. Any good software to burn these. A4. Yes there are. IMGBurn should do the trick. Since that IMGBurn does not read FLAC files initially, you will need to install K-Lite Codec Pack basic. If you already installed such pack, you won't need to install anything. Only IMGBurn. Q5. Can you tell me how to burn a CD-A from your files with IMGBurn. A5. Sure.
Q6. Does "The Good Records" really exist? A6. I kind of created that name to make it look official. Imo, I'll try top keep that name and catalog number implements for the future. Q7. Upload the files to (put hoster here) A7. No. Just use an updated browser and you should be fine. Seriously. FINAL COMMENTS This project... I am really proud of it. It started with an idea of making a community centered best Eurobeat tracks. At first, I wanted to choose 15 tracks from the members and 15 tracks for the current and past mods/admins. Seeing that past mods and admins were MIA (most of them anyway), I decided to simply go for 30 tracks decided from the community AND current mods together. On top of that, it would have been much more difficult with the initial idea because there were chances where there would doubles and then create conflict with the other list. From the past experiences with polls or threads asking "what's the best (insert subject)", I was kinda skeptical about the results. The minute Perry put up the survey links and my introduction text in a facebook, it exploded. The fact that there were no sign up required helped amazingly. Along the road, not everything was trouble free. It took several days to get a banner up on the forums due to Perry's schedule. It didn't help very much but everything was good to get the word out. When we first hit 100 responses, SurveyMonkey "reminded" me of the free account limitation. So, we had to pay 25$ to get the additional responses. In the end, that helped tremendously since it enable me to export to PDF among other things. Overall, like I said before, we had a total of 242 people taking the survey and 74 for the tie breaker (in 24 hours!). I can't be grateful enough. The artwork is what I am the most proud of. It looks so good. I spent like 2 days non-stop on that. I suppose I can commentate on the tracklist... Running In The 90's, Space Boy and Speedy Speed Boy It was so obvious that these three would show up, it's not even possible. Express Love and Take Me To The Top Those were surprises. In fact, I didn't expect any of the songs featured in Battle Stage 1 to show up at all. Boy was I wrong! Forever Young What was surprising about this track, it's not that it showed up but OVER 50% of the people who took the survey chose the song!! To think I am not within those who voted for that song. Impact Blue I think most people were clueless about the songs used in the Extra Stages. Since they needed to answer at least one choice, they went for the song named after the only women racer's car. That's what I think anyway. This is also the only song sung in Japanese in the compilation. Night Of Fire Was it overused enough? Looks like not, haha. Don't Stop The Music 2006 I am surprised that the remake was chosen over the original, to be honnest. For a while, both version were in the top spots to be selected. If that was going to happen, I would have created a question to choose which version would have been chosen since having the same song twice isn't very professional... Heartbeat, No One Sleep In Tokyo, A Perfect Hero and Rockin' Hardcore In the tie breaker survey, I was REALLY surprised that Heartbeat won over No One Sleep In Tokyo. Also, 68 votes in, A Perfect Hero and Rockin' Hardcore ALMOST both made it in the compialtion because they were tied... in the tie breaker. The last 6 votes pulled them apart and left Rockin' Hardcore as a winner. Rockin' Hardcore One of my favorite Fastway tracks. The songs was featured in Fifth Stage D Selection 1. However, I didn't pick the song from that specific compilation. Why? Because the version used on said compilation is the radio edit used in Super Eurobeat 174. Avex released the actual extended version on Arcade Stage 5 original soundtrack, so I picked the extended over the edit. The Top The only song featured in Initial D that... wasn't chosen on an Initial D-themed extended songs compilation. The song was picked from Super Eurobeat 217. Many dubbed it the best Eurobeat track in years. The author of the song (and singer!) is still very active on twitter (@TravisOdyssey) and as "zoupzuop" on Eurobeat-Prime forums. Not surprised in the slightest that this was included. It's My Life Surprised that this won over "Falling Into My Heart" by Terrance Holler. That is all. ENJOY! THANK YOU ALL FOR PARTICIPATING! I am very glad to have met with this kind of music. And I want to say a big thank you artists and musicians who wrote it. I'd really like to go to live concerts, but they do not come to my country. I'm sorry for errors in the text, google translator is still not perfect. P.S. And a little bit of criticism. The cover could be made of the better covers. I'm not saying you should add 5+ Eurobeat songs that are not in Initial D, just 1 or 2 would do, sort of like a "bonus" to the fans who voted. But nevertheless, I'm ok with it. Downloading right now EDIT: Is it just me, or is the progress of Disc1 stucked at 5%? This post has been edited by Takahashi Rensuke on Jul 21 2013, 04:39 AM |

Don't worry about your English. In fact, if you want to improve and want to get translations for the exact context, head to WordReference and select Russian-English from the list to get many translation for a single word (according to context). For the covers, I did my whole best to get good quality covers for the montage. In fact, I think a lot of them come from your collection. Then, I reduced them to 250x250. For some of them, I could not secure a clean scan. Exemple Initial D D Best Selection (first row, 5th from the left). I did my whole best. Thanks for downloading.
I know, right? Power is one of the best Go 2 song, ever.
I'm not sure what "burn to my wedding picture" means but, hey, thanks for downloading.
First disc is 75 minutes 23 seconds. Second disc is 74 minutes 8 seconds. It's kind of hard to put an extra song to these, especially disc one. Disc 2 would be hard if the song is over 5 minutes 50 seconds. Anyway, like I said, I wanted the compilation to be strictly Initial D AND have the same amount of tracks on both discs, so yeah. Thanks for the comments.

It's really fast but not reliable. It often gets stuck. Cancel and retry I guess. Also, I have merged all the top 5 together and let's see what does it give...

I bet most people voted Forever Young because of Fujiwara Takumi's very first blind attack, not because of the song itself. The scene made it memorable. Why is "Get It All Right" even in the top 35? That song's rhythm is the same as "Impact Blue", just in English. Shock Out, Power, Lonely Night 2006, Limousine and Rain did not make it to the top 35 even though they are in my top 10 Only The Top made it, and even it is placed 17th... |

About Forever Young: Maybe, I don't remember the scene at all. Then, again, I'm not one to retwatch things once I've watched it once. Get It All Right: It's not the same song at all. I think it's like you Forever Young: it was made memorable because of it's title: Impact Blue. Impact Blue is the nickname of Mako & Sayuki's Sileigthy. Since Extra Stage's focus is not on Takumi & co and more on side caracthers, people tend to not watch these and when they were asked what was their favorite tunes in the Extra Stages, they didn't know because they didn't watch. So, they picked Impact Blue which is the Sileighty's theme song and Takumi did race the duo and the main anime. Shock Out, Power and Limousine... they are very good tracks indeed. Lonely night 2006... didn't really grab my attention. Rain? There's no song called "Rain" in Initial D's soundtrack.
