I've been getting 3'08'xxx - 3'10'xxx on akina DH and I've been trying to break the 3'08'xxx barrier... any advice? I'm a drift style player.. all my records on akina were set with drift style... I have observe all the technical threads etc etc.. but I still don't understand how to control my tire boost properly.. so how do i do that? and drift style too.. I wanna know if im drifting correctly... I mean.. I've followed LOUIS drift tutorial.. I manage to do that.. but still I'm unable to achieve the speed on the straights... corner wise 69-70+ around CP1 and CP2, CP3, after CP4 its 70-80+km down the last consecutive hair pin.. So I'm just wondering if im controlling the boost properly since observing videos like 3'04'xxx and 3'06'xxx is alot of difference... 3'04'xxx has a corner speed around 69-75 where as the 3'06 has 70-80 drifting... the only difference I can see is 2-5km difference on the straights during CP2 CP3 and last CP4 stretch.. |

Drift is actually faster than grip in D5 I've been using grip & drift at Akina & if i dont remember wrongly my best time is 3'24'xxx .... that's a long time ago From videos that i saw.....they all try to take the gutter(even on straights) You might consider to take a middle line to tackle the gutters on the four consecutive hairpins

Its up to the players preference... Grip style can compete with drift style... but if you watch the world record TA on akina.. all of em are drift... the fastest grip time on akina I saw was 3'05'xxx. 04 06 all the rest were drift... This post has been edited by jon360x on May 4 2012, 05:02 AM

maybe it's because you got the hang of drift style, at the cost of losing how to grip

I find that hard to believe.. because grip is when your car is in full control. drift is like you have to aim where your car wanna go. initiate the drift and then it will just go towards where you want it too. no stopping it halfway.. so yeah drifts more harder than grip.. @JC, how am i suppose to drive nagao actually? I tried TA boost which means CP1, CP4 speed where as CP2 and CP3 i conserve my tires more.. and how do you play with the brakes in the corners? because its not as easy as akina like straight road to corners. but from corner to corners. I get around 3'18-3'20

Jon .. all my driving style in all course is GRIP. I reach 3'09'2xx used grip style and right now my avarage time in AKINA DH is 3'09"xxx - 3'10". I still train myself to use gutter without any mistake. This post has been edited by Newneo5879 on Aug 18 2012, 06:38 PM
