I am however totally taken aback by something, there is a cup of water where the map is supposed to be. This is something I have never seen before and am entirely confused by.

You can set it at customize setting before you select TA,Legend of streets or Bunta Challenge.
The cup is to see either you hit the wall or tap the wall..Map is not usable when you memorize the whole map
