Everyone, pick out 10 girls to be in your anime-harem. Here are the catches....

NO MORE THAN ONE GIRL PER SERIES. That means you can't have Asuka Soryu and Rei Ayanami at the same time. Or Tsuruya-san and Haruhi. Or Kaname Chidori and Tessa Testarossa. You get the idea. But what you can do is...

If a series has spin-off's, then characters from the different spinoffs can be included. For example, Asuka Soryu from NGE:Angelic Days, and Rei Ayanami from NGE can be included.

Maximum of 5 tsundere girls. You don't want to end up in the ER every day, now do you?

Post pics, so we know just who you're talking about, especially for the "lesser-known" girls.

Edit: Reasons? That sounds fabulous. Why did you choose the girls? Explain!

Here's my list....

Lala Deviluke (To-LOVE-ru) - a little risque. I've had a thing for alien girls with tails that can invent stuff outta nowhere. Her devotion to her man is sweet, plus you can't not like her bubbly disposition.

Cagalli Yula Atha (Gundam SEED) - DELICIOUS TSUNDERE BAZOOKA-WIELDING JB. She took down a GINN with a bazooka and a rocket launcher. Notice that I chose her Gundam SEED mode, where she kicked immense amounts of ass, and yet was the sweetest thing when it came to her man.


Asuka Soryu (NGE:Angelic Days). The tsundere is strong with this one. Feisty, yet when it comes to the one she loves, she'll be there for him, no matter what. Even if she has to tear apart angels in an EVA. In Angelic Days, she took the role of the "childhood friend", and you couldn't help rooting for her, even if Rei was a hottie homewrecker.


Kururu Sumeragi (Air Gear). Technical expertise, sweet personality, and loyalty to her sweetie. See a trend, people? Okay, so she's basically Lala Deviluke without a tail.


Haruhi Suzumiya (TMoHS). Simply put, Haruhi is one of the finest looking manga/anime characters i've seen in a LOOONG time. Plus I kinda have a thing for short-haired girls. Her jealousy might make things a bit difficult in the harem though...


Kaname Chidori (Full Metal Panic). Hawt, blue hair, tsundere, intelligent...reminds me of my girlfriend, if she had blue hair. Someone like her can keep me in check, and that's the way it's been for almost 5 years now.


Marina Ishmael (Gundam 00) Awww, it's the "poor" princess. After getting beaten up by the tsunderes in my harem, at least she'd be able to patch me up. Kind and nurturing.


Sakura Haruno (Naruto - timeskip). Short hair. Tsundere. FREAKISHLY STRONG. Nice legs. She may have been kinda annoying in the first series, but she's grown into an incredible ninja, and more open with her feelings (especially when the reader realizes who she loves).


Tear Grants (Tales of the Abyss) - Tear is probably my fave Tales lead. Sorry Colette, but Tear heals, cooks, and is tough enough to put anyone in their place. Yet, she is probably one of the sweetest characters I've ever encountered in any game. Plus...she's the obligatory "endowed" character for Tales of the Abyss. Watch her encounters with Mieu, and anything cute.


Haruka Minami (Minami-ke) - She's probably the closest any of us are gonna get to the perfect anime/manga "waifu", despite being the legendary "Banchou". Cooks, cleans, athletic, and plays mother to her kid sisters. For some reason, she always seems to wind up half-naked at the strangest times....she's the "legend" for a reason.

So that's who that girl is!!! Man, I saw some great pr0nz amazing art of her a while back but had no clue who the character was. I feel so relieved!

On to Nomake's harem! Please take your shoes off before entering, and bow before the lord of the manor. If you're polite I might let you spend some time with one of the girls. Here they are, in no particular order. After all, I do love them all so very much.

Tsuruya-san (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

(Cat ears optional, but always welcome!) The fact is, when I began watching Haruhi, I was having a bit of a problem. That is, I always look for a favorite character, someone who really strikes me as having a wonderful characterization, someone who's memorable, someone with a cool voice, etc. For most of the series, Haruhi had my vote as favorite character. Episode 00 didn't really give too much of a view of Tsuruya, except that she laughed a lot, so I didn't really get into Tsuruya until the baseball game. And then the concert episode did me in. Tsuruya-tan fanboy all the way.

Natsuki Sasahara (Hyper Police)

Gentlemen, I like catgirls. Gentlemen... I like catgirls. Gentlemen, I love catgirls. I like tall catgirls, I like short catgirls, I like older catgirls, I like younger catgirls. I like girls with cat ears, I like girls with cat tails, I like girls with cat brains, I like girls with cat mannerisms. In school outfits, in bikinis, in armor, in kimono, in dresses, in suits, in underwear, in nothing at all. I love every kind of catgirl there is in this world. And that's about as far as I'm going to parody Hellsing because if I continued it would take up too much space. Natsuki Sasahara gets on the list because of being a catgirl, of course, but she makes the harem because her voice actress is Yuko Miyamura, who I am a hopeless fanboy of. Aisha ClanClan (Outlaw Star)

Ah, Aisha. The second catgirl I knew of. Makes the list because of being voiced by Yuko Miyamura, and because Outlaw Star is one of my Top 3 Favorite Anime of All Time. I dare not defy the CtarlCtarl Empire.

Atsuko "Nuku Nuku" Natsume (All-Purpose Cultural Catgirl Nuku Nuku)

Nuku Nuku is a catgirl in the most literal sense... she's actually a robot controlled by a cat's brain. So literally, a "cat girl." Cool. Her VA is Megumi Hayashibara which makes her awesome anyway, she wears an awesome school outfit (a full skirt? blasphemy!), and has super powers. Is also easy as hell due to not knowing much about social interaction. Sw33t.

Lisianthus (Shuffle!)

This is the one that probably threw a few people I knew off. I know that when I was first shown Shuffle! back in college, my close friends all snickered behind my back and expected that I would say Primura is my favorite character. But she isn't; Sia gets my vote. She has a super-cute voice, I love her hair, and her ears are pointy enough to be cute but not enough to get in the way. Her breast size is also normal compared to others in the series, and she has a habit of wearing sky-blue panties. Primura is jailbait, Ama-san has got to be illegal in some states, and Kareha would probably zone out in the middle of fun times. Sia all the way!!!

Misuzu Kamio (AIR)

Long, blonde hair. Blue eyes. Cute voice. A little ditzy. Nice, normal body. My absolute favorite character from AIR, and AIR is one of my favorite series... so she's in my harem.

Yoriko Sagisawa (Da Capo)

Catgirl, of course. Is also a maid. Is also a character from Da Capo, a series from my Top 3 Favorite Anime of All Time. Instant in.

Ruri Hoshino (Martian Successor Nadesico)

(The ship would be nice too...) Okay, this one I can't just explain away, so I'm going to go right out and say that Ruri Hoshino is like the gateway drug to all things loli, and I had the unfortunate luck to see Nadesico in my very first year of Anime Club alongside such classics as Trigun, Kenshin, and Evangelion. She was incredibly memorable, cute... gah. It was either her or Sasami Masaki, and well, Ruri is better. Oh well, with Sasami I could've at least made the legal age argument...

Merle (The Vision of Escaflowne)

The very first catgirl I ran into. She had to be on here, it's a rule. Come on... it's a rule. If you've heard the songs "Cat's Delicacy" or "What'cha Gonna Do" from Escaflowne, you'd know... you'd know...! Okay so she's loli too, gimme a damn break.

Elise von Dietrich (Sky Girls)

Originally I had Kohaku here, but then I remembered that Yoriko was, in fact, a maid. Therefore my maid requirement is fulfilled, so while I do like Kohaku very much, Elise was going to make the list. Sky Girls was having a Haruhi problem; the series was amazing and all, but I didn't have a female character I particularly liked. Then Elise showed up, with her pseudo-Asuka-ism and loliness coupled with a cute voice, long blonde hair and cat-ear-like headpiece. It was instant win.

Honorable Mentions, and why they didn't make it:

Kohaku (Tsukihime)
Was originally in the list. Is my favorite character in Melty Blood. But I already had a catgirl maid, and Elise needed to be on the list.

Lucky Star Characters
I didn't include any because Lucky Star had the opposite problem Haruhi and Sky Girls had... it had too many awesome characters. Konata, Misao, Patty, Hiyori, Yutaka, Akira... I could practically make a harem out of Lucky Star alone. Because of that I omitted any choices from this series.

Asuka Sohryu Langley (Evangelion)
I do love Yuko Miyamura's characters. But while Asuka is most certainly hawt, I can't imagine having her around all the time in a harem. She reminds me too much of my crazy ex-girlfriend. This is more of an "I'd hit it" than an "I want you to be at my side" thing.

- cute. nuff said.

- silent, athletic, but very soft in personality.

4. Flora (Claymore)

- My vision of a REALLY REALLY PRETTY FACE. Oh and her fighting style rocks!

5. Mitsuki Rara (DUAL!)

- It's that big-sister type thing I like about her.

6. Haruka (Minami-ke)

- ditto

7. KOS-MOS (Xenosaga)

- dunno why I like her. She's just attractive, that's all.

8. Yuki Nagato (Haruhi) long title...you get the idea

- Silent and cute.

Oh and she's the only character in IaMP that I can use fluently, which is really coincidental since I already like her before I started playing IaMP.

Hmmm...interesting topic you've got here twitchy. Let's see, who would I pick...

Oh, and as a suggestion, I think we should start giving reasons why we pick the characters we do.

(There is no particular order to my list)
1. Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop): I honestly think that Faye is hot in that mysterious, sexy, femme fatal kind of way.

2. Chidori Kaname (FMP): One word: Spunky

3. Suzumiya Haruhi (Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya): I guess I'd pick Haruhi for the same reason as Kaname

4. Inoue Orihime (Bleach): Fairly ditzy, but yet caring and sort of knows how to take care of herself

5. Michelle Chan (R.O.D. TV): Also ditzy, but certainly knows how to defend herself and be serious when the need arises. I kind of like that in a woman.

6. Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell: SAC): Ok, this may seem kind of sick since she's supposed to be a cyborg, but has anyone seen that episode where she goes to Taiwan in the second season? You know, the one where she meets that kid and open offers to get the kid laid in her hotel to prove she's still human?

7. Sakaki (Azumanga Daioh): This seems so wrong too since Azumanga Daioh is supposed to be so innocent (with the exception of the episode where the group goes to Chiyo's summer home for the last time), but Sakaki is sexy in that silent, athletic way.

8. Chun Li (Street Fighter): She has various personalities depending on the series, but in the SFII animated movie, Chun Li is that spunky girl that can really kick some booty.

9. Mao Jahana (Blood+): Bossy, yes, but damn does she know how to take initiative.

10. Shizune (Naruto): Attractive in that caring, doctor kind of way.

*Alternate Choice (you know...in case one of the others gets sick or something) - Winry Rockbell (Full Metal Alchemist): I know, I guess I'm sort of cheating here since the rules were only ten characters, but one of them is bound to get sick, right? And hey, there's nothing wrong with having a hot, smart, mechanic :-p


I know, most of mine come from fairly mainstream Anime. Oh well...

Hmm... right then, here's my list... though here might be some from games...

In my list, the ladies either fall on these categories...

1: Independant
2: Confident
3: Tomboyish (To me, I tend to get along with tomboys very well)
4: Re-assuring
5: Unknown get attractive in some way.

Motoko Aoyama (Love Hina) [Oh shit-WAUGH!]
Reason: Other than her strong swordmanship skills, she does retain her feminineness with that exterior.


Setsuna Sakurazaki (Negima)
Reason: Almost the same as Motoko, yet she is confident of her abilities.


Chidori Kaname (Full Metal Panic)
Reason: What can I say, this tsundere is probably the type I can get along well.


Amaha Masane (Witchblade)
Reason: Though a little tough in her ways, she does have that motherly feel that would make me feel comfortable should I feel troubled.


Seras Victoria (Hellsing)
Reason: Uhh... I can't tell why I'm interested with Seras, but I know it isn't her bosoms.


Raquel Applegate (Wild Arms 4)
Reason: Looks can fool people, and Raquel does that very well. She does have her tsundere moments, but she probably be called 'domestic' in some way (The game did state she has cooking skills, though not perfect.) And surprisingly feminine as well.


Revy (Black Lagoon)
Reason: This is probably one of the girls I can have a heated fist fight and yet stick together when the times gets tough.


Gardenia (.hack)
Reason: Same as Raquel, though she is more of a demanding side. Her confidence and independence is top notch, and surprisingly a plant lover. Her kindness comes most in actions.


Hrist (Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria) [The one at the extreme right]
Reason: Her independence wins me over, and the re-assuring confidence is enough to make a rival feel doubtful about their responses. Little to no tsundere-ness, but her fighting skills can be feared.


Wyna Grapple (Thousand Arms)
Reason: The ultimate tomboy. What can I say more?


Shiranui Akeno (Seto no Hanayome)
Reason: Literally the same as Motoko, but with more feminineness.


Rozalin (Disgaea 2) [Ermm... pic shown below is her real self, Zenon]
Reason: Extremely confident, yet her weakness lies on one topic, family. No matter, her sarcasms would be often her strongest point.

Looks like I did overshot by two, but I added in the reasons, though they are a little vague in some sense.

Updated my list to include my reasons for each choice, made one edit to the list character-wise, and also added a section for characters who were close but didn't make it.

I've added reasons to my list. Just tell me if anyone wants me to put a pic on any of the girls there.

...but I dont think that will be a case since all of you already know a good majority of the girls there.

I originally typed "since I can't possibly pay attention to more than 5 at once."

This be my list, lol:

1.) Toujou Aya (Ichigo 100%) - I have a weakness for girls who wear glasses. That and she was one of my first favorite contemporary anime/manga characters that I encountered. Did I mention her VA (Mamiko Noto) is also my favorite as well and I'm a slightly rabid fan of hers?
2.) Minami Haruka (Minami-ke) - Every day is a legend with her.
3.) Fuyou Kaede (Shuffle!) - I also kinda have a soft spot for the tragic, slightly insane characters. That and I need a maid. She can keep Haruka from slacking off and I bet Haruka would keep her sanity in check for fear of facing the wrath of the banchou.
4.) Kamio Misuzu (Air) - one of my favorite characters, and one of the few who made me cry at an anime.
5.) Minase Nayuki (Kanon) - another favorite of mine. I just feel bad that her story effectively gets shafted each time in lieu of Ayu's arc. She's also cute when she's half asleep.
6.) Takamachi Nanoha (loli version) (Mahou Shoujou Lyrical Nanoha) - Hey, I gotta have a magical girl, right? If I got one, I'd get one that kicked ass with beamspam. That and she'd cover both the GAR and Loli categories.
7.) Kamigishi Akari (ToHeart) - the loyal childhood friend who always comes by to wake you up every morning. Definitely a must for me and Nayuki, since we sleep heavily.
8.) Nagato Yuki (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu) - Cold, calculating data entity who easily complements Nanoha's magical stopping power. She'd probably read every last one of Toujou's novels too.
9.) Horo (Spice and Wolf) - wise wolves are the new moé it seems. Especially if they're wolfing down (pun intended) apples and making a profit at the same time, all while looking cute.
10.) Chii (Chobits) - the obligatory robot rounds out my harem. Chii turns off *push* Chii turns on *push* Hey, what are you doing with those Ethernet cables?...

Characters who were considered for the harem, but became schoolmates or next door neighbors instead:
Katsura Kotonoha (School Days) - I did consider her, but I fear that she'd kill off the rest of the harem with that damn dozuki of hers. I already had the yandere from Kaede, and I wanted a harem, not a bloodbath.
Takamachi Nanoha (MILF version) (Mahou Shoujou Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS) - healthy Nanoha is fine too, but she feels a bit watered down somehow, even with the Booster upgrades. Maybe she just didn't get enough action in the series? I dunno.
Kinomoto Sakura (Card Captor Sakura) - classic loli, but she's too innocent for my taste. That and Nanoha could probably outblast her upon befriending.
Izumi Konata (Lucky Star) - first off, she's not exactly harem material for me, and second, she'd be more likely someone to play Melty Blood against (and she'd most likely win too, since I suck).
Fujibayashi Kyou (Clannad) - okay, I probably regret not adding her in somehow (and getting an awesome 2fer with her sister, Ryou, but I'm not sure if twins would break the "single series" rule).
Minami Kana (Minami-ke) - see "single series" rule.

Slightly offtopic question @ Nomake Wan: Do you use solo Kohaku or KohaHisui? I prefer having Hisui as a striker myself instead of that odd ground amber missile.

to all the people that posted their harems....how hard was it to pick and choose?

not too hard since I've only watched a measly 20 or less number of animes and some of them are hardly even memorable.

At first I knew exactly who was going on. It was pretty simple, since I have a good list of girls who would automatically win with me just waiting to go. The tenth one was very hard though, and I'm still a little back-and-forth on it. I love Elise... but someone mentioned Horo and she's frickin' hawt and sexy and... grah.

@Pikachu_Fragger: Kohaku, straight up. I don't need no damn Hisui with her damn defense chairs of doom, I just rape the hell out of people with my broom of justice!

Too bad Horo is so goddamn clever. She'd see right past my subtle advances and dump me like a box of rocks.

You know what? It was a little hard. I tried to pick characters I that would hopefully not hurt me too grievously, but yet were still attractive in their own ways. I guess it also doesn't help that I haven't watched that much Anime either.

1 shirayuki mizore - rosario vampire. gotta list atleast 1 stalker that is possesive towards the one she likes.
2 tomoyo -clannad. she kicks butt at any activity
3 horo - spice and wolf. sly and yet so smart. +1 for being a wolf
4 tamaki -bamboo blade. not one to anger in a fight not to forget a strong fighter
5 nena - gundam 00 (who cares if she's a crazy b*^$h)
6 kyoko from initial d. she drives an FD, 'nuff said.
7 ryoko - TMoSH. another ruthless one to avoid angering
8 mai kawasumi - Kanon. quiet yet strong
9 rin tohsaka - FSN. tsundere
10 ogata - shakugan no shana. cheerful, interesting and shes only a supporting character.
