same as in the "automotive" section:

i just bought my toyota AE86 hachi-roku and I LOVE IT. its a panda hatch just like in the Anime. Im happy with everything EXCEPT for ONE thing: my AE86 doesn't make the chime sound when u drive over a certain speed limit. i think its 100 kph. I've had many people tell me its cuz its an American AE86. I was wonderin if its possible to put that sound in my car. thanks. Anyone know??

why would you want a chime? If you want that sound get a rx7 and redline it. you will come to hate alarms while driving.

is it a steady annoying high pitched tone? if so i hav heard something close enuff to it in MT3 (pardon the bad example). id hate to hear that on any car. or is it the chime that frequently goes on in initial d se1 in the 86.

Ive driven too many cars with that darn noise... even if I _had_ an 86 I'd remove it.

Most likely fun for about 5 minutes then you go on a long trip. 20 minutes on an American highway and you will rip your ears off and through them out the window.

The new Euro Civic has a chime when you go over 30mph, but its just a *chime* and a display message that says you've exceeded 30. It doesnt repeat, just chimes every time you go over 30, decelerate to 20, back to 30, chime. Still annoying though.
