The rotary is good, the sound is good, the shell is a carbon copy of the 944, and the fuel consumption could be compared to the River Nile...

EDIT: Hey, VTiRoj! We top the daily top 10 posters!

All we need is Fin-toy to join in the group.

Captain Slow: Now then, though the management is already holding the golden letter of death of our third challenge, it seems that only 4 of us are going strong... You(Hammond), me, Clarkson, and The Stig...

Oy, Fat Man, did you just choke on your Porsche pipe, or did you just put the wrong way around?

Challenge 3... why am I anticipating a "Spend your remaining cash on mods then go to _____ and do ____ then post your best ____." challenge? unsure.gif

It seems so. Everytime as well... maybe the management is getting a little stale these days. :X Feels that Clarkson's doing the 'The Stig' effect on us... >_<

Its hard to come up with new ideas after, what is this? Our 4th challenge? There was the £10,000 one, £50,000 one, £60,000 one, and now this £30,000 one. Anyway, its hard to stay fresh after 4 episodes. Perhaps an "American special" or something will bring out some new ideas from the management? tongue.gif

Maybe, and don't forget the forgotten Hypermini challenge that Clarkson failed to pick up its pace... He must have bogged it down ever since the Peel P50 incident XD

I'll see what I can do to poke the management to do something unique... And I won't be surprised if I see Top gear Dog in that frozen Honda Today. The dog's been missing for the past few weeks, months... O_O Or CLARKSON HAS DONE IT!?

I haven't done a thing to TG dog, since 1.) i don't look like spaniel and 2.) I don't like to chew things to keep my teeth white. She's probably doing number 2 in your 911, Hammond.. at least she knows the true purpose of Porsches.

if we're running out of ideas, I might be able to come up with something amusing that could include French car.. shifty2.gif

How about a Europe, or another America special? I think a Japan special wouldn't be too different from the last challenges, since we always seem to buy Japanese cars anyway. tongue.gif

So wheres challenge 3? I've managed to cover up the scratch on the EvoIV with some tipex, so I'm good to go. grin2.gif

*Top Gear Management throws third challenge at Captain Slow*

James May: Ow...

-----------------------

3rd Challenge

All participants are given free R2 Tyres sponsored by Michelin. Now, don't get cocky just yet. However, you are needed to lose, or add weight to your cars, exactly at 1230KG. Costs of removing weight doing so will not be included in the change given... With the change you have, you are to upgrade your cars. After that, enter El Capitan (Normal), 2 Laps, Difficulty 10. Post up your overall time.

After doing so, rush down to Special Events, Normal level, Citta D'Aria, Normal route. Post your overall time.

This is the test of your ability as a driver fit for the Mount Panorama races in the lackluster Toothey's 1000. Hit it, slackers!

--------------------------

James May: shifty2.gif Group A anyone?

Budget: £30,000
Car: £10,492
Left over for mods: £19,508

First things first, the weight. Fully weight reducing my Evo brought me to 1147kg. 83kg too light. So 83kg worth of ballast brings me to 1230kg. R2 tyres were fitted, making my EvoIV one hell of a car even before I took it to Mine’s. These guys have a EvoVI demo car, so I knew I took my IV to the right place.

Mine’s begun by upgrading my turbo with a stage 2 one, boosting power from 277bhp to 355bhp!

Stage 2 turbo: £13,500
Money left: £6,008

Next they upgraded the ECU, to bring out the max potential of the new turbo. Bringing power up to 368bhp.

Chip: £1,500
Money left: £4,508

In order to handle the new power, the clutch was replaced with a twin clutch.

Twin clutch: £2,700
Money left: £1,808

A new racing flywheel was added to finish the package, helping my 2L Turbo rev like its possessed.

Racing flywheel: £1,050
Money left: £758

With my car finished, I ordered some wheels from GT Auto, and gave the Evo a nice wash.

Wheels: £500
Carwash: £50
Money left: £208

So I present to you, the new and improved EvoIV! biggrin.gif

All right, got my time...

El Capitan, Difficulty 10

3'45.532

The trailing Audi LeMans (R8) did not make it for a time...

As for the Citta D'Aria race...

4'49.249

The trailing Mitsubishi Evo VII failed to make the finish line...

And as for the mods I've done...

Installed R2 Tyres and did full weight reduction till 1215KG. 15KG less than the targeted 1230KG. Added weight ballast to meet requirements...

As for the mods, I only had 14'426 pounds, hence I was able to get a Stage 2 Turbo and a Semi-Racing flywheel, all from mine's. Apparently, they said they had met someone who kept talking about a challenge, hence was somehow rushing to get the mods done. And I knew who it was when they said Lancer Evo IV... After the two mods, I was only left with 326 pounds. Oh well, enough for me to have a drink at the pub. How about a pint of stout?

Oh, and yes, I'm tapping about 400bhp...

James May: I just realised how close I was in the time between mine and The Stig's in the El Capitan race... And yet, The Stig still goes like a zipper... Oy, Hamster! Your milk bottle turned sour all of a sudden? And where's Fat Man? Did his milk bottle too just got sour?

=-----------------=

EDIT: Since I may be busy next week due to oritentation (I'll be a Polytechnic freshman this coming Monday biggrin.gif), it's best for me to post up the final challenge earlier...

Final Challenge

The producers from BMI Japan has sparked interest with what we were doing with the challenges. Hence as such, we are invited to their competition, which will be our final challenge. However, before you are to set off into the final challenge, BMI has presented to each competitor a "Full Customisation Suspension" Unit. You ware to fully utilise the advantage there, and enter the "Tuning Car Grand Prix" in the Professional Events. Post the overall points you have in the Championship. Be warned though, this will be the toughest challenge yet ever done.

Show those Japanese what we Brits are made of, lackeys! And good luck thrashing them, The Stig. We're counting on you.

=-----------------=

James May: pinch2.gif I'm really starting to feel the pinch... ermm2.gif Guys? You think we can make it? I mean... Kazama is in the competition, so does Orido, and the lot...

It didn't turn sour, its just obviously I don't have an absurd amount of power. rolleyes.gif

Tuning car GP will be a walkover, those little S2000s cannot match up to my Mine's Evolution IV! grin2.gif

What happens if we all get max points? Who wins that challenge? blink.gif

Then obviously it'll end up with a tie... Unless the management wants to complicate the challenge... >_< I'm starting to feel that my R32 is understeering more right now...
