I finished all the episodes about a week ago, I love this series. I especially like Ep.25, it gave me an OVA feel, very nicely done. The ending is okay I guess, main character confrontation, pretty old fashioned, but I like it.

And Yuki's older brother Ayame, man whenever this guy appear, I get really tired. Like Kyou said, " Don't appear for no reason, I get really tired, seriously. " That's exactly how I feel about this character.

i think the reason why it didn't make sense was because it ends at 26 eps if i recall correctly...the manga is still continuing now. laugh.gif I haven't seen the anime what's the last thing that happens?

Hopefully I don't get in trouble for this... but here goes.

Wasn't sure whether to start a new thread or to continue the existing thread, because the thread does exist, but is so old.

I'm 15+ years late to the party, but recently, it was brought to my attention that Fruits Basket was being re-made. Since I haven't watched a new anime series in a while, and Fruits Basket was on the list of to-watch anime for maybe a decade, I thought it would be a good time to watch it.

I can't believe I've been missing out so much. The first few episodes had some very masterful transitions and small fun flourishes, but by episode 5, the episode I just finished, they've been toned down (as they always do). My favorite character is the Dog, as he resonates with me. I tend to find myself as the guy who is making high-brow jokes all the time, but not really a direct participant, just egging things on from the sidelines.

Shojo anime tend to have the same character types (tropes). To draw an analogue between Fushigi Yuugi, Ouran HS Host Club, and Fruits Basket:
Chichiri = Kyoya = Dog
Tamahome = Suou = Rat
Tasuki = Hikaru = Cat

I wonder if these are the common types of characters girls like. I wonder why the Prince-type always gets the girl.

I can't wait for new episodes, one episode per week is way too little facepalm.gif
