Is it even out yet? An EXP version has not been announced to my knowledge so it's Japan only.

Unlike previous games, D0 requires a consistent online connection to even use cards since it moved to the Aime/Banana system. Without it you're stuck with stock cars I assume. That's how Aime card based games work.

So the "use JPN version" thing Round 1 has been using wouldn't work. They'll need to get a version that Sega can officially go online, which can only happen with a EXP version - and even then the arcade needs to pay Sega for a subscription fee and Sega must allow it in the first place.

So an update on San Jose Round 1, they have initial d 8 still at this point? And initial d zero is only out in Japan so far?

Yes, Eastridge Round 1 has IDV8 (4 cabs no cards). Sunnyvale Golfland also has IDV8 (4 cabs WITH cards).
