And risk having another Fifth Stage level of quality? I'm disappointed in your lack of foresight.

You realize that depends entirely on the studio that adapts it, right?

True, but what studio would be willing to pick that kind of series up, save one that has experience in that sort of thing?

It would probably be a smaller one that takes on projects that don't necessarily rake in high sales figures. GoHands comes to mind.

It wouldn't even come close to decent sales figures, methinks. Studios go where there's money. OverRev and Countach are great mangas, but if they couldn't feasibly break even on the production costs of an anime series with retail sales, it'll never happen. Countach in particular would not break even. Not even close. It's too obscure and the fanbase is too small to justify greenlighting animation.

weren't even more obscure racing mangas animated over the past years ?

like Monkey Turn for example which even got a sequel series

besides for Countach I could imagine that anime might be very well received in places like ITALY for example...

Possibly, although I'm sure that by now everybody knows that the Lamborghini Countach was in reality a terrible car.

Stranger things have happened. I mean, we get a lot of cheap shit anime every year, so it could happen. I wouldn't count on it, though. Countach ended in 2012 to little fanfare and hasn't been heard of since. If a company was interested in animating it, they would have done it when the series was popular, not years later. It's just bad business otherwise.

There are series which have been adapted that would have (and did) tank worse than Over-Rev! would, in my opinion.

and ?

Area 88 manga came out in 79-86 and they made an anime back in 2004

the simple matter is car anime need to be popular again and Over-Rev and Countach are the only long running mangas stil unadapted

Countach had 28 volumes which means just right lengh for 24-26 episode run

You know, if they actually did condense 28 volumes into 26 episodes, I would be very happy. It would be so packed full of content that there would be no plot to bitch about. laugh.gif
