But remember that it's an old engine so I'm pretty sure that no one doesn't use it anymore. And you cannot build engine like it anymore becouse TRD doesn't produce any parts to 4A-GE 20v anymore. Of cource if you wanna build an engine which is close to it, you can use TODA's, Wiseco's and someone else's parts and if you're lucky you may can still find some new TRD parts second hand. But would be an _very_ expensive 1.6 liter engine, becouse all those TRD parts alone would have costed around $120,000 (e.x crankshaft alone $13,500) But here is something like it: Spoon EK9 This post has been edited by TTH on Apr 14 2009, 01:05 PM |

IDW Expert Member Group: Members Posts: 115 Member No.: 32,432 Joined: Apr 1st 2009 Location: Singapore | that's great info especially with the video from Xtreme Drifter...the engine is almost identical as the one in anime! my gut feeling tells me that it's the same engine with the one in anime (by looking at the specs commented by the youtube community and its appearance in the video) but like what TTH has explained, since it's expensive to get old parts nowadays, why are the automobile companies not making new engines that have such high performance? i am very sure if a pro gets his hands onto one of these he can fly in circuits... It's a heavily modified TRD 20v AE101 silvertop motor. Akira Iida is the only person I know to run it on the street, albeit limited to 9000 rpm and 210 ps for reliability. That TRD N2 actually runs a Formula Atlantic motor 16v. http://www.passracing.com/TRD%20101%20Gr%20A.htm he bought this group A AE101 with this motor, so yes, it does exist. Hasselgren can also build one to this spec, but pay mucho dinero or you could get the Hasselgren Formula Atlantic motor if you wish |

LOL. It would be better to get to try an engine like that. Also, I've seen (well, heard) one like that zoom past my eyes. On Haruna too at that... In an AE86 too. This post has been edited by WRX DEMON Type R on Apr 15 2009, 12:42 AM

Like a few other people posted, you can build a similar engine, but it'll cost you. Most people rather spend their money else where. |

It's same thing in the tuning shops also, they know about 16V 4A-GE but they don't know anything about 20V. But I'm pretty sure that they don't know anything about it becouse almost no one doesn't make any parts to it... |

The US Fomula Atlantic is a 16v and is 11,000rpm. The JDM FA engines were updated to silvertop 20v. TOM's for one year ran an N1 blacktop 20v engine. That motor made 223ps and redlined at 12,500. |

lol funny ... what does this "racing engine" from anime taught you about racing ? does it taught you how to corner, breaking, etc etc ?? Does this engine has pupil ? Maybe its time for to stop playing the arcade game and start saving to get rich and buy the real racing engine This post has been edited by anbu999 on Apr 22 2009, 01:50 AM
