Initial D Latest News
  • Initial D Fifth Stage has ended with 14 episodes. [confirmed]
  • A theatrical version of Initial D is confirmed for release in August 2014. [Official Thread]
  • UPDATES : Animax has confirmed that Final Stage will be available on its subscription-based VOD (Video On Demand) service starting May 16th, 2014. It will continue where Fifth Stage left off. Consist of a total of four episodes, Final Stage will be focusing on the long-awaited final 86 vs 86 battle between Takumi and Shinji. [confirmed]
  • UPDATES : Avex has confirmed that the New Initial D The Movie will be a trilogy. First part of the trilogy is called Legend 1 -Awakening- slated for release in theaters on August 23rd, 2014 (Japan Only) [confirmed]

I'm sure Shinn will arrive at the last moment, just like Takumi did in First Stage...and for once i'll like him to lose, fighting till the end, and by a small margin, but lose. Sometimes in order to improve you just need to lose...

Also, the NSX is by far and away my favourite japanese car, i won't like when it'll eventually lose, but i guess it can't be helped...

I'm not surprised at the NSX leading. It's expected, after all. Keisuke will manage to overtake at an amazingly difficult corner and win, or at least it will be a tie and Takumi's race will determine the winning team.

FD vs NSX, a perfect match up. Both are cornering machines...the race will definitely be a very close one. I wonder how Shigeno's gonna pull it off this time with the race outcome

Kubo is at the starting line waiting Shinn arrival facepalm.gif
Rin is at the arrival line hoping is brother to finish the race in one piece facepalm.gif
For keisuke final race no advice from ryosuke this time.
To erase the 15 seconds advantage of NSX Fd from second position keisuke has to do something risky and totally crazy.
NSX may at first put the gas and make the gap.

Speculating isn't so bad... Keisuke's car has special boost thrusters that allows it to overtake from above. rolleyes.gif

I'd like to know what's under the hood of that NSX that allows it to keep up with the FD. Even the most powerful engine Honda threw in it could only get it to 60 in 5.8. I'm damn sure the FD is faster than that.

Wait, what? The later NSXs with the 3.2-liter V-6 (290 hp) were hitting 60 in the 4s. Lowest I remember seeing was 4.4 (though I don't remember if it was the NSX-R or one of those special versions like the Zanardi one), while the FDs were usually in the 5s. I'll look up some numbers.

This race sounds like it will be as good as the one with God Foot IMHO.

Yeah, but Keisuke's FD is so far from stock it's not even funny.

let's see what settings from kubo make 15 seconds advantage for NSX.
FD seems more powerfull than NSX but FD is heavier.

I hope your assumption is right, cause this race really promises to be one of the bests of Initial D, if not the best. And, just for the record, the race against Godfoot is my favorite, so we can expect this to be the best race in Initial D... for some people at least.

About the cars, one of the "natural" advantages that NSX have over the FD is that the NSX is MR, while the FD is FR, hence the weight distribution is better in NSX than in the FD. But we can expect anything, because if there's something that Shigeno has taught us so far is that Initial D, specially the races, can't be explained with logical thinking, meaning that anything, ANYTHING, can happen. ermm2.gif

I've been watching Best motoring vid that feature FD3S and NSX, I noticed NSX with MR layout has better advantage during cornering since it can take tighter line and exit corner more steady, while the FR FD3S's exit line was less steady and exited at outside line, while NSX can slip in to inner line during exit. In terms of power both seems equal when exiting the corners, but the NSX is little bit better when it come to exit acceleration.
