E.g. Air TV, Dog of Flanders, Graveyard Fireflies, etc. Any recommendations from you guys? Thanks. () |

Also, I have to second most of Nomake's suggestions, especially the Clannad movie. >_> |

I've watched Air Movie, Kanon 2006, Tokikake, and Code Geass 1&2 in the list. Kanon wasn't really good to me. I was tricked by the seiyuu cast. Code Geass was very good, but wasn't really the touching genre, but the ending was touching though. I liked it. Something like Gundam Seed towards the end. Tokikake was nice! Air TV is still better than the movie version. Thanks, i'll try the others out. Fate/Stay Night has a very interesting storyline. I like that too. Ending was rather touching as well. I've been thinking of Saikano (She Weapon). Should be nice from the cover and synopsis. Oh yeah, Black Jack is good. I'd recommend it. Some episode were really touching. Another one would be Twin Spica! Really good. My current target animes are: Saikano X TV Shinigami no Ballad D. Gray-man Planetes Uchuu no Stelvia Piano Any of you watched them? Nice? whut? Group: Advanced Members Posts: 4,416 Member No.: 6,453 Joined: Apr 2nd 2005 Location: ¯\(º_o)/¯ | Shinigami no Ballad is quite touching, though not on the level of crying your eyes out. It's more of a "making you reflect" type of anime. Shigofumi I've heard is basically a Shinigami no Ballad with more episodes and less light-heartedness, have yet to watch to personally watch it though. D.Gray-man I've yet to watch, though I've never imagined it to be a BAW-fest to be honest... =/ Anyway here's my list of waterworks inducing shows: - AIR - Kanon - Voices of a Distant Star - Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora - Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu (Very similiar to Saikano i've heard) - Saikano (Yet to watch but i know for a fact it's BAW) - The Place Promised in our Early Days (AKA Beyond the Clouds -or- Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho) - 5 cm Per Second - Chrono Crusade (ending is very touching, despite the overall nature of the show) - Grave of the Fireflies Fullmetal Alchemist can get pretty touching at times too. |

Damnit, I can't believe I forgot to mention these two, especially Grave. It has to be one of the best animated movies I've ever seen.

Read the first post again. buusap: I thought about it, but the sheer violence of it kinda overcomes the trainwreck ending. Not to mention the Anime's ending freaking sucked compared to the manga (that is, the Anime is a cliffhanger).

Which is not to say I was on Raito's side, I just thought it was sad, especially since the look on his face seemed like he actually regretted what he had done. |

Myself; Yourself (maybe if you can establish that bond with characters....) Monster (there was that one part I had to give it up for the guy. around 70ish episodes might bore you out though...) Rumbling Hearts (might be a tear jerker. love story btw.) This post has been edited by broccoli on Nov 26 2008, 06:09 AM |

I was going to recommend Kimi ga Nozomu Eien: Rumbling Hearts as well, but it doesn't seem to be much of a tear jerker... Didn't know Iriya was a tear jerker, guess I got something to look forward to (finished half of it). |

I don't usually pay attention to romance stories, but that one had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, especially near the end when everything went crazy. |

whut? Group: Advanced Members Posts: 4,416 Member No.: 6,453 Joined: Apr 2nd 2005 Location: ¯\(º_o)/¯ | Kimi ga Nozomu Eien I found to be more of a drama than a tear jerker. It kinda reminds me of real life soap operas for some reason actually... Didn't get the waterworks going for me, but I tend to think I'm one of the oddbunches in this case. The ending to School Days did have me crying however, they were more tears of joy than anything though lol But really if you're looking for a good trainwreck and shitstorm, School Days fits the bill perfectly
It's been awhile since i last watched Elfen Lied but i found the "papa backstory" (sorry i couldn't remember the character's names ><) to be quite touching and tear jerking at times. The violence also quite nicely added to the emotion impacts of the story too imo.
lol, you've been stucked halfway on Iriya for like a good year or two now. Which reminds me i gotta get around to finishing off both DaCapo II SS and Futakoi (both halfway through as well lol =P) Another good series that can be quite touching at times that I've just thought of would be Honey and Clover. It's not a straight up tear jerker in that it aims to make you BAW every odd minute or so but it can get pretty touching, even to the point of tear jerking at times.

Would have to be "Peach Girl" that shit is always sad and she really gets f**ked over alot of times haha..... but yes if you havean't watched it i'd definatly recommend "Peach Girl" |

There was a waterfall almost every episode so it got annoying and I quit watching it. |

What's that? Hentai anime? Honey and Clover I and II were good; the effects were the insert songs IMO. I've watched Elfen Lied anime before. I hated Nyu when she severed Nana's limbs. Nana was so innocent and sweet... *sob* Kinda disappointed Nyu didn't die tragically. For Death Note, I originally liked Light, but he's asshole for tricking Reye and his fiancee. I could have liked him if he didn't do that. The whole thing got boring after L died. Oh yeah, one nice one to add would be Rurouni Kenshin Shishio's Arc and the first OVA (forgot the title (Remembrance? I dunno), but the story was on how he got the scar at his cheek). Shmuck Group: Members Posts: 1 Member No.: 41,651 Joined: Jun 6th 2013 Location: NY | This isn;t an anime but a Japanese Drama series & movie made from the girls diary while she lived through her disease and. tried to live life to her best ability. I HAVE NEVER CRIED SO HARD AND SO MUCH IN MY LIFE. Aya Kitou is the girls name. To get her actual diary you have to buy it as a grade level 3 English teaching book via amazon.jp . at least that's how I acquired it. It was slightly difficult to procure. Here is the movie/show that made me want to be with her and love her for she was regardless of anything. I own the diary and its heartwarming yet heart breaking. More so it should be inspiring to you. I hope many people watch because it changed my views and thoughts on morality/mortality and selflessness. (had to chop up HTML link so just push it all together and go) gooddrama.net / japanese-drama/ 1-litre-of-tears-episode-1 Believe me you will watch every episode to the end in one or two days. Theres also a movie: gooddrama.net / japanese-movie /1-litre-of-tears-watch |
