Initial D World - Discussion Board / Forums > Welcome Forums > hello from Idaho |
Posted by: Plentymoon Feb 14 2015, 02:13 AM |
Hello my name's Jeff or Plentymoon whichever you would like to call me. I own a 1983 Mazda RX7 12 streetported watched Initial D a few years ago and searched up rotary engine quick bought my first sports car a 1988 Mazda rx7 fc3s n/a fun car beat a lot of people on the streets with it had to unfortunately sell if due to lack of money to keepservicing the car and changing parts, now I own the older first gen rx7 and currently rebuilding the engine for the summer time cruising. I run a rotary car club here in Burley Idaho called the Rotary Knight Our group Consists of 2 first gen rx7s and one 2nd gen, and the other two are RX8s Group list: Jeff (me) 83 Mazda Rx7 FB 12a streetported David 85 Mazda Rx7 FB 12a stock Trever 05 Mazda Rx8 N/A tuned Ayman 05 Mazda Rx8 N/A Lightened Flywheel and Exhaust Nick 1988 Mazda Rx7 N/A modified Stock exhaust Basically if I had not watched all of initial D when I had I would have never met my friends or been interested in cars or even heard of the rotary engine or been interested in trying to build a faster car for drifting and other fun racing activities. MMMmmm... FB. I still want one. |

Welcome man, make yourself at home. Since this forum is full of old Japanese car fanboys (and not so old ones too, as well as non-Japanese, so basically all cars), we wouldn't mind seeing some pics of your beauties. Anyways, feel free to participate in all threads and sections, and don't hesitate to make this place a little more alive. Once again, welcome! |

Hi there! To let you know Idaho around here, you don't wanna have a catfight with me. |
Posted by: Tessou Feb 14 2015, 01:53 PM |
Village idiots aside, I have to ask what you were able to "beat on the streets" with an 88 nonturbo RX7. I've driven them, and they aren't particularly quick. I mean, I've been known to totally pwn an Ames Cyride bus in the family's '86 Mazda bike truck every now and again, but I thought it was too pathetic to brag about. |
Posted by: Spaz Feb 14 2015, 02:26 PM |
Cyride is only good for bus surfing. Or the drunk bus. That was useful too. |
Posted by: Tessou Feb 14 2015, 02:29 PM |
It's also totally good for doing flybys in your totally sweet $1,500 Civic DX to show off those amazing Walmart spinner hubcaps and prove who the fastest really is on the mean streets where life blazes by at 25mph. |
Posted by: Rudy Feb 14 2015, 02:32 PM
That's our official forum dumb trap, btw. Welcome aboard! Nice to see more rotary love in the house |
Posted by: Tessou Feb 14 2015, 02:37 PM |
I love the old RX7s as well, particularly the FC. The nonturbo models are about as potent as a geriatric flaccid tube steak, but they're still beautiful ripoffs of the Porsche 944. The turbo models are a gift from above. |
Posted by: Rudy Feb 14 2015, 02:41 PM |
My favorite USDM FC is the GTUs, but damn are those hard to find. |
Posted by: Tessou Feb 14 2015, 02:54 PM |
But the GTUs is basically a Turbo without the turbocharger... why would you like the GTUs more? Because it's rare? Because it's slightly faster than the base model car due to better wheels and an LSD? |
Posted by: Plentymoon Feb 14 2015, 03:03 PM
I would mainly beat Hondas only because they would harass me until I would race but they are no match for 8K Rpms first and 2nd gear and they would give up after they hit 4th gear when I would stay just a nose ahead. @Tsukikomi (Plentymoon @ 7 hours, 47 minutes ago) Idaho Hi there! To let you know Idaho around here, you don't wanna have a catfight with me. I don't understand what you mean? are you telling me I live in a bad state? |

They've been at it from thread to thread for months. Get your chuckles' worth and move on. Seriously though, I hope you stick around. You seem to have a decent enough sense of humor and are into rotaries enough. There are a few other guys here who do the whole spinning triangles thing, I'd suggest even tossing up a build thread. |
Posted by: Plentymoon Feb 14 2015, 11:22 PM
I could always copy paste my current build thread on rx7 club to here so people can follow it without switching websites I guess a slow moving build but hope to be done with the Engine before summer so I can work on tuning it and getting new exhaust running on it I plan to do a lot of street driving and trust me I work in a mechanic shop and its full of completely retarded guys even me with lame jokes and strange antics if our bosses could afford to hire real mechanics we would have all be fired ages ago xD |

You are an interesting individual to say the least. I couldn't tell whether to crack a Space Brothers reference or do this entire welcome reply as a single continuous runon sentence so I've decided to do both and welcome you to Initial D World by saying that with you around it just plain Feels So Moon hah get it it's the OP to Space Bros and your name has moon in it it's funny amirite Seriously though, welcome aboard. Not sure how you got here, but welcome anyway. I'm sure if I dug deep enough I'd find we had a few interests which align. I'll give your build thread a read in a bit, I always love reading WIP threads. Makes me miss having a project car. |

I have an anime music app on my phone with the websites radio station on it so I checked it out saw the link to the forums read a few threads signed up and here we are. [ Post made via Mobile Device ] |
Posted by: Nomake Wan Feb 15 2015, 12:32 AM
Dammit Perry I thought you disabled the directory listing for the radio! Unless said app is manually updated with stations, in which case...shit. Now I regret more than ever not doing Friday shows anymore. Hilariously enough I was going to try starting up again this past Friday but...well, a few minutes after I made that decision I found out our house was on fire. LOL Hopefully in the next two weeks we can at least get partial power restored so I can do Eronight at least. Perhaps in the near future you can listen to more than just the automated Eurobeat playlist. |
Posted by: Plentymoon Feb 15 2015, 02:02 AM |
Haha I look forward to it should do some kind of talk show if possible, and take on some internet guest I'm not always busy at work 1-5 am [ Post made via Mobile Device ] |

I believe they have bots scraping website and specifically look for "listen.pls" and then download its content automatically, which of course expose our port. Anyways, welcome to the forums, Plentymoon. Hope you stay here for many moons. |
Posted by: Spaz Feb 15 2015, 11:15 AM
We have... shows... occasionally. There were a number of guys who did stuff weekly back in the day. |
Posted by: Nomake Wan Feb 15 2015, 11:36 AM |
RIP Dave Rodgers. You were a megadick, but damn did you know how to run a radio show. |

Posted by: Plentymoon Feb 15 2015, 06:22 PM |
one of these days after the car is all built and safe to drive again I will post up some mean stories and videos I'm gonna be doing alot of traveling from city to city in my state to meet up with other rotary enthusiasts and get names and try to expand the rotary scene in my town and outside of it. other then that thanks for the welcomes guys I plan to stay around forum seems fun though not the full lively forums good enough to have a few chats and good conversations maybe the occasional story or two. |
