the legacy's size is too big for touges & it's quite heavy (except for the 1st or 2nd gen)

it wouldn't make sense to me if bunta ditched his almighty impreza, just for an innocent-looking family car. T_T

Yeah, I can't picture Bunta giving up the Impreza for any other car aside from the 22B Impreza.

But, some legacy were quite bad-ass. For example, the B4 Blitzen.

It depends on the author... He is literally the God of Initial D... If he decides to make Bunta sell the car and become a professional stripper he can do it... Sure it is far fetched that he would ditch the Impreza, but I am sure people felt the same when he got the Impreza in the first place...

I'm not quite certain, but doesn't Shuichi Shingeno own an ae86 AND an Impreza wrx, in which he based both Takumi and Bunta's cars on? So it would be quite wierd for the author to switch to a legacy, but I guess it could happen, who knows...

This time shigeno sensei decides to show us SHIN's car till the begining of Kanagawa final line cause when Shin appear this time for the first time no car beside him. Whereas NSX was shown before the battle beside Kitajo Hojo.

I think Shin will be driving a Subaru Impreza or a AE86 (50-50) Both cars will be make an ideal battle to use against to Takumi, with someone as skill as Shin! There is a lot Takumi doesn;t know about those two cars (Stated by Bunta and even Takumi himself) He is going to lose against Shin and grow from there.

He's already faced another AE86 so that wouldn't be very interesting. The only Impreza he should ever face is Bunta's.

i guess that Takumi will win against Shin. And the victory key will be what Bunta called "the last favor to takumi" in vol.39.

I am not so sure about that... at the beginning of Project D, Bunta said that sooner or later, he (Takumi) will lose. Also, Iketani said the Kanagawa's Takumi might appear (which is Shin) and defeat Project D, just as Takumi defeated the Redsuns, and ruined their winning record.

Ah I remember that Fuji_tak, Bunta mention it just before the AE86 got the roll cage... What kind of favor that Bunta were talking??? We just have to wait then....

Yes when Bunta said that sooner or later Takumi will loose he talks about himself defeated Takumi hachiroku with his 22B. I don't think he talk about project D official race cause he doesn't know about the second pilot and his car (Keisuke/FD). So when he talked about Project D defeat, he talked about Takumi.

You really think Bunta doesn't know everything about D?

I'm sure Bunta knows everything about Pro D. He still has acquaintances in the racing scene. He just doesn't care about the team

Apart from the "unofficial" race against Sudo, Takumi just can't win 100% of the time. I hope Ryosuke will beat his ass sometime

He probably knows about the team just from Yuuichi blabbering about it as he usually does. The Esso station is Bunta's usual station, so I'm sure he's heard stuff from Iketani and Itsuki when he fuels the car.

My thought right now is that Takumi will never be able to defeat Bunta. Bunta has always been a step ahead of Takumi and seems to know exactly where his progress is headed. Bunta's biggest advantage is that he never seems to be surprised by anything on the road, even when Kai almost steered into him in Third Stage. He didn't even turn the wheel, and laughed about it later. Takumi on the other hand is still surprised by new happenings on the road and can hesitate at times, even with his amazing driving instinct. He may be able to get close, but unless he can manage to become as stoic and unflinching as Bunta is, he will never equal or defeat him.

Like Joshima toshiya, Bunta must be at the top level but at his limit. The problem for him is that Takumi learn more and more and evolve gradually. Maybe BUNTA knows that one day Takumi will surpass bunta own limit.
