http://www.msnbc.com/news/973949.asp?0cv=TA01

Saw this on another forum I post at...Most of them I disagree with on, especially the half-assed note where the dumbass "don't know nothing" author said that internal-combustion engines should die...I'd post what I said about that here, but I don't feel like going back there and copying and pasting my responce, not after I spent 30 minutes b*tching about 1 particular technology...Maybe tomorrow morning...

Thoughts? Agreements or disagreements?

what a heap of shit,

what sort of moron wants to get rid of the internal combustion engine, light bulbs, DVD's and prisons.

sure, none of these things are perfect, but I wonder if that idiot stopped for a minute to think of how the world would be without such things.

oooooooooooooooook people, this guy isnt saying that we should just stop making these technologies, he says that we should find something better to replace them, and i quote:

"A wise society would honor its young technical innovators for services rendered in annihilating obsolete technologies that are the dangerous hangovers of previous, less advanced generations."

a "wise society" meaning us, "would honor its young technical innovators"meaning the scientists of today, "render in annihilating obsolete technologies that are the dangerouse hangovers of previous, less advanced generations" meaning invent something better to replace them

it even says it was writen by a "humorist"

QUOTE
3. THE INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE
I have to confess that, as a former denizen of the 20th century, I’ll miss the loud, soul-stirring THRAAAAGH of a two-stroke motorcycle. And liter for liter, calorie for calorie, gasoline is truly the queen of liquid fuels. Nevertheless, if you stand inside a closed garage with any internal-combustion engine, it will kill you. That is bad. Even the best such engines emit an eye-watering stink.
Internal-combustion engines are big and clumsy. They are hard to tune, and they waste a lot of effort carrying their own weight. They’ve got a great incumbent fueling system built into place, but they need to be replaced by hydrogen and fuel cells, technologies that are simpler, safer, and cleaner. If you need really loud, macho engine noises, why not just record them and play them on your car stereo?

actually, no.

If they can SOMEHOW get electrical engines to be able to reach 1000+HP, leightweight, not have to recharge often, and sound cool, then im all for it happy.gif
