I have been just using common programs. But it's fast as ballz! I am really happy with it. I may upgrade the graphix card buts that's it. I may get a nice racing game in a few. Movies look amazing on the 1200p lcd. |

And the use of 1GB of RAM on the GC? I don't see any. 512MB is enough...

My rig was built about 6 or 7 years ago. I'm hesitant to buy a whole new setup but it'd probably be better. I'm looking into barebone kits. I just wish I could find XP Home SP2/3 cheaper than $94. |

LOL. I can change the color of the keys, and everything else that lights up. It has a program where the colors can be changed 8 different colors. Or I can make each item a diff color. It's a pretty sweet setup. Thanks

Backlit keys isn't exactly anything new or specific to Alienware.

Dell may own Alienware but they still do their own thing. Dell hasn't interfered with their computer skills. Also, I have to say that Alienware's customer service is second to none! Every time I have a question someone is there with the needed help. After that I always receive an email with a survey about my experience. Plus it's a great computer and I really enjoy it. I'll defend my PC like I defend my DSM! |

Dell's customer service is great, too, I'm guessing all the calls and emails go to the same service center. I've never once had a problem getting anything taken care of through them. All I'm saying is that you could have had the same amount of computer for less. That's all. |

I picked my PC for a few reasons. Also, I think a XPS with the same specs is in the same price range with out the 1200p LCD. Anywho no worries bro. Yeah, not to crap on his machine or anything, but backlit keys have been around for quite a long time... Regardless, it really is a nice laptop. I don't think I'll ever find myself in need of a laptop of that caliber, though. For gaming purposes, its much more practical (not to mention cheaper) to just build a PC, and I'm not on the go much, either. But hey, if you have the money, why not? Anyways, I'm probably going to build a rig this summer. Need some money first, though, so I've spent the last week scouring for job applications. Hopefully I'll upgrade this old box pretty soon.

It's a pretty good case, due to the sheer amount of fan mountings on it (120mm mounts on the front, back and left side near the window. There are also 120/140mm fan mounts, one on the bottom of the case and two on the top) Another thing i like is the position of the USB, eSATA and IEE1394 ports. They're right on the top of the case, good for me especially when i plug in my camera's USB cable and i can leave it on top along with the cable (ditto for my portable HDDs) Only small gripe i have is the positioning of the power and reset switch, as well as the HDD and power LED (all on the right edge of the case), which means u can forget about leaning it against a wall on its right side. Not that u would want to, because there's a 80mm fan on the right panel, directly underneath the CPU mounting point of most motherboards. BTW i've added in the fans on the top, as well as the bottom This post has been edited by Soran on Jun 25 2009, 09:53 AM

For its price that I got it for ($400). I had my eye on an HP with more bang for its buck, but I saved nearly $250 buying something like this. |
