This game, OMG this game. THIS is why I bought a current-gen system (I'll also own it for PC as well).

If you haven't downloaded the open beta, you need to do so and give it a shot. I'm dropping BF4 for this indefinitely.

I've been watching some streams of it. It looks like Call of Duty with mechs, but I mean that in a good away, since COD is one of the more fluid shooters out there. But I can't really judge it from watching videos. Does it actually play similar to COD, or does it have it's own feel?

It's interesting in that sense... It's built on basically the same engine, but feel wise, parts are the same and parts are not. Aiming down the sights is strikingly similar, movement feel while doing so is definitely reminiscent. But once you step away from that it is a completely different game with a lot to get adjusted to.

Well that's good to know. I was hoping it would be like what you described. The wall / building jumping aspect looks really fun. Titan combat does as well. I really like how there's different objectives as well. Like making sure the enemy team doesn't board their shuttle at the end.. etc etc

I was planning on getting a PS4 this year, but I may end up getting an XB1 instead just for this. Since there's nothing coming for the PS4 that I want, and the games I do want have PS3 versions. So I might as well get them for the PS3 since I already have one.

The one thing I didn't like about this is that it's going to be 12v12 or something, but only 6 humans on each time. sad.gif so it's kinda a let down, should just have ground war like old CoD games and just let the 3 other spots be the bots. sad.gif

That aspect sucks, but at the same time it would then be very hard to get the bot-related kills to unlock stuff if they spawned in low numbers. Seems to me like they just need to increase the team size overall.

So, who has the game, and what do you really think of it? I can't get any good answers, it's either "Fucking awesome!" or "Don't like it."

And I don't want to read reviews on the day of launch or a day after, since most will either be paid reviews or didn't have enough time to play it for a real review. sad.gif

Well, you know how I feel. I'm lvl 20 and have been putting what time I can into it, which was a lot last night.

It is different, and I think that's what puts people off of it. The one legitimate complaint I've heard is that there it's a ton of Titan customization. There's enough IMO, but I can see where people coming from MechWarrior would be a touch disappointed. It doesn't detract from the gameplay and that's what makes it forgivable.

Oh, and Strider + chain gun = fuck your day up. Numero uno Titan combo. As long as you can keep multiples off you (Dash Core FTW) you can pretty much mow through anything 1v1 if you're not a shit pilot. Just have to keep from getting hit which is pretty damn easy with 3 dash bars. And of course, the distance closing for that last melee to get the pilot kill as well.
