Initial D World - Discussion Board / Forums > Computers and Technologies > I need a way to rip DVDs

So, I have some DVDs with PVs on them that I'd like to move to my phone, but I need a program to extract the proper formats or however it works, since the ones I've been finding are pretty sketchy.

Thanks.

First you'll need a program that knows how to bypass CSS. Fortunately CSS has been bypassed since forever (heck you can even buy shirts with the decryption key printed on them!) so this part shouldn't be too difficult. Even free programs like AnyDVD or DVDFob Passkey should be able to do the trick.

Once you have that, you'll just need a program that knows how to convert formats. Now personally I'd do it a semi-manual way using scripts and frame indexes...but I'm an old-school nerd and I don't feel like going into it if you're just gonna slap it onto your phone, so go download Handbrake. I can't think of an easier, more stable or reliable all-in-one application than that for what you're looking to do.

N1 already mentioned Handbrake.

Doesn't get much better / easier. There are other options but most of them are paid. Let us know if you got through.
