The first time the trailer of Redline was released back in 2006. At first I thought if this was already released or if it was a dead project that never reached completion. So I'm glad to hear its still alive and will now have its premier, especially with so little information released about it. Watching the trailers already speak for themselves what its about.

First impression = F-Zero or Tail Enders or whatever other types of its genre such as Oban Star Racers and Star Wars Pod Racing.

Has a similar image as Tail Enders which came out in 2009

I've seen a trailer of it, thought it looked pretty amazing. I take it that it's already out?

Saw Redline at an Aussie/NZ wide animefilm festival at the start of the month. (Which was pretty much the 2nd screening of the movie worldwide! 2nd only to the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland. Yup it was even showing before Japan will even get to see it on the 10th of October! happy.gif)

Absolute kickass of a film to say the least biggrin.gif Non-stop, high paced, high octance, insanity filled action for literally every minute of the film. One of the most enjoyable and fun films I've seen in recent memory. smile.gif Highly recommended that people keep it in the back of their minds and jump on the chance to watch it whenever it arises.

Redline Day by James Shimoji is such a nice song too. Pity there's no full version of it out yet... =/

@ Shawaazu: i didn't even know the soundtrack was on its way! pinch2.gif

Over the top would be an understatement tongue.gif

@ Bozz: I don't think it'd be hitting any of the mainstream cinema's out theret. Film festivals or some of the smaller niche cinema complexes would be the best bet I'd say.

There isn't a website or anything for locations, is there?

On the official website there are only dates for showings in Japan...

I have mixed emotions about this, it's definitely over the over the top, if you get my drift.
It's ridiculous, it's amazing, it's exciting. I like it, I/m turned off to it. I don't know. It's gotten my attention, but would it be worth pursuing it?

I might give it a chance once a few episodes come out.

^ That's great news! I've always had an ickling that Redline was specifically made to target not just the JP audience, but worldwide as well. happy.gif

If you seen/enjoyed any previous over the top shows like Gurren Lagann, FLCL or the currently airing Panty and Stocking among others, then Redline will be along the same lines as those. Watch it if you're looking for good quality fun entertainment.

You'll only get to watch just one episode of Redline though. But it'll be an hour and a half long episode, much akin to a movie =P

Bad animation and Redline are two things that will never go hand in hand.

Anyway earlier on in the thread i mentioned how much i liked the credit rollover song, Redline Days by James Shimoji (ft. Rob Laufer) and how it was a pity there wasn't a full version out yet. Well there is now thanks to the release of the OST biggrin.gif
YOUTUBE ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVuz9YEsskA )

After listening to it however I pretty much feel the exact same way as this one youtube comment "Wow the song really falls apart at 2:35" pinch2.gif Coincidentally that's the part where the short version ended as well. So yea i might just keep looping the short version from now on haha tongue.gif

It sucks that I missed out on catching it at a festival nearby where I live a few weeks ago... No word yet on an expanded theatrical showing, is there?

Well this 2 month old ANN article says there are plans for a US nationwide screening sometime early next year. So keep your eyes peeled for any news i guess.

August 10 is when the JP DVD/BR ships out. These will have english subs already on them.

UK copies will follow suit on Sept. 6.
