IDW Goldmember Group: Advanced Members Posts: 1,133 Member No.: 2,798 Joined: Aug 25th 2004 Location: Levanger, Norway | For drivers of the Nissan GT badge I bring you "The Race Of The Red Emblem" specifically related to cars with the legendary GT bade: That means that any Skyline's since the dawn of the Prince to the high tech R34 GT-R is allowed to enter. Any later models including the Skyline Coupe or based on the FM platform (V35 chassis) are not allowed to enter this challenge! Having said that however, any Skyline goes, it doesn't have to be a GT-R, you are free to enter with any FR Skyline as long as you do not enter with a FM platform based car. If you have understood the basic car choice rules we are moving on. Track chosen for this challenge is Grand Valley Speedway Normal which is a track that with its straights and corner types favours the Skyline with its longer straights that tends to leave permanent 4WD machines like the Evo and Impreza cursing when facing a GT-R. In racing the Skyline has left its marks and previously here at IDW the Skyline has had several races dedicated to it, and they have been major successes. Old GTR race while I was in Spain There are also some bitter remarks about the GT-R here on IDW but we will leave those dug down for now as it is partly a sensitive issue involving 32's and 33's. RULES: * There are 3 classes for now, GT-Unlimited, GT400 and the Old School, pending popularity more classes MAY be opened. * To participate in the GT-Unlimited you must also run in one of the other classes, this is to spread racers evenly across the board and not have everyone flock into the Unlimited class. * For GT-Unlimited it is a free for all with car restrictions, everything to drop the time goes, that includes R5 tires and Nitrous, the goal is to see HOW FAST a GT-R can go. * Race cars are NOT allowed in this challenge, not even in the GT-Unlimited this is for the road cars, the R33 GT-R LM Road car and tuner cars are considered road going vehicles and are allowed in this challenge. The Nismo 400R has a special exception to be allowed into the GT400 class, however no engine tuning is allowed naturally, no oil change either. * GT400 has a HP limit of 400 HP and nitrous is NOT allowed, also S3 tires have to be equipped on the car to be able to run in this class, Racing rubber is not allowed, lower grade tires are fair game however. (S3 and below to N1) * The Old School is a class for the older Skylines that are FR, meaning below the R32, R32 is not allowed to run in the Old School, newest Skyline that is allowed to run here is the R31, HP limit is 250 and there is a S3 tire requirement, same rules as for GT400 when considering tires and nitrous. * In the GT-Unlimited your primary enemy is not the other GT-R's, it is the clock it is all about showing off what a fully tuned GT-R is capable of and declaring GT-R supremacy on Grand Valley * For GT-Unlimited the Concept car of the next GT-R is allowed and is fair game as well, as it may represent the next generation GT-R and would be an interesting car to compare with, it has too much power to compete in the GT400 so it is not allowed to run there. Just so you are aware, your time does not go up on the board until you have a time for one of the other classes as specified in the rules...

It is to get the maximum performance out of the GT-R you know... Like I said, the GT-Unlimited isn't about who is faster, it is who can make a GT-R go the fastest so naturally a R34 will be faster As for GT400, it is a different breed altogether.

I think he can put up a good fight in GT400 and GT Unlimited. and I think I'll try some more with R32 since I did feel that there's some more in it. |

To further prove that the GT-Unlimited has no competition there are no rankings... I add people to that list based on WHEN they enter or rather, when their entry's qualify. With the fastest GT-R time being on the top, I just hope whomever has the fastest Skyline is willing to share it with the rest at the end of this challenge, should be interesting to hold a shootout to find the perfect Skyline BMI car for the future.

After set-up changes, racing line rethinks, the M-Spec hit a pretty big wall in terms of time. I few more runs saw mileage and abuse take its toll, and as a result I lost 1 bhp, taking me down to 824bhp. So, I used the giggle gas on this final run, and this is the final time from my M-Spec. VTiRoj / Nissan Skyline GT-R M-Spec Nur '02 / 1'36.113 / 824bhp (894bhp with nitrous) Time to find a new contender I think. |
