Hey everyone! happy.gif Greetings from Germany!

As a long time Initial D fan, I've been a visitor (and silent lurker) to this forum for quite some time now, but somehow I've never found the time to register (beats me, why...).
But NOW, I've finally managed to kick myself in the posterior and took the first step in (hopefully) becoming a good member and semi-regular poster here.
I'm saying semi-regular because I've always got a pretty full schedule of things I have or like to do, so I'm not the most active of forum users, I have to admit. Still, I think it'll be fun and I'll try my best to show up as often as I can manage wink2.gif

IRL, I'm a University student (main fields of study are Biology and History), Japan/Anime fan and of course a gearhead par excellence with a family-shared passion for Japanese manufacturers.
I stumbled over Initial D a couple of years back at a time when I was just starting to get better at driving after getting my license.
So, I did what every bloke with little driving experience, having just watched ID would do: hit the local passes facepalm.gif . Surprisingly I did not crash and die/maim myself, so I still love to drive my local serpentines.

When it comes to cars I'm more of a driver than a mechanic, although I really want to change that and try to do the smaller things like maintenance and inspections myself or supervised...(I'm still a noob derp.gif )
So far, I've been the owner of two Mitsubishi Colt, a '94 Honda Prelude and currently a '04 Toyota Celica (which I love even though it's not an FR like I wanted).
Of course I want to own a classic JDM FR car and learn drifting one day, but as a student and without a regular income, at the moment that is out of the question sad.gif

If I'm not driving (which I do a lot...even just for fun) or studying, I also love to draw and regularly spend time drawing up a comic which I have planned for quite some time now.
Other than that, I have like a bajillion other hobbies, but I guess my car and drawing are the two biggies.

Well, that's all I can think of at the moment, if there's anything else you want to know, just ask =3

I hope I'll have a great time here wink2.gif
(And excuse any mistakes, although I love english and speak it regularly, it's obviously not my fist language xD)

Thanks for the warm welcome! It's really cool to have so many like-minded people around =D
I'll be sure to dig out some pics of my former cars and of course my current Celica (might actually take a bread 'n milk one xD).

The problem is that I need a daily driver, so it has to be something reliable that won't cost a fortune to maintain.
I wanted: Japanese manufacturer, RWD, 2+2 seats, mileage not too high, within my price range.

Originally I had layed eyes on an S14 Silvia, but if you don't want to buy a beaten down, partially rusted away shadow of a once proud Silvia you really have to pay some good money for one over here (or have a lot of luck).

So I had the choice between
a) a 250.000 km, beaten down but cheap Silvia in need of repairs.
cool.gif one in better shape with less mileage, but for a price I couldn't afford
c) a Mazda Mx-5 NB (which I tested and loved, but of course it's a two-seater and I kinda needed the extra seats or at least a trunk that can fit more than a six pack)
d) lower my sights

So, I could ditch the japanese manufacturers and buy a BMW (which I hate), buy a two-seater and face the consequences or *sigh* go with a more common FF.
So I searched and found the Celica. She was like new, relatively cheap and it's at least a recognizable name when you think about legendary Japanese cars. So that was a deal wink2.gif

Until I start working and have a steady income it'll have to do, it's still a great car, so I won't complain. Perhaps I'll be able to afford a cheap FR as a second car so it doesn't matter if it breaks down xD

But I digress. Again, thanks for the warm welcome and I'll post some pics in the "what car do you have" thread.

No reason happy.gif
Just from what I read about what kind of vehicle you were looking for and what not, Keisuke was who came in my mind.
