QUOTE (Meteor @ 5 hours, 28 minutes ago)
You've heard it more than once but: that's a very clean looking car you have. You're taking very good care of that Legacy. Also, I like what you've done with it and the stuff you've got planned for it sounds good too.

I'm normally indifferent about wagons, but that's because I don't see impressive ones like this around where I live and because I don't know much about the really good ones. And even without the mods yours would have still impressed me. It's a nice looking car that runs well, has decent performance and seems like its fun to both drive or ride around in. And it looks even nicer because of how clean you're keeping it. I'll be looking forward to seeing how this project comes along.

By the way, what are mid-pipes and down-pipes? What I know about exhaust systems is really just little more than "ideally they throw out exhaust gases really fast so the engine can quickly draw in fresh air", "fluids flow faster when having to squeeze through a smaller space (but flow with less volume so exhausts have to strike a balance)" and "there's this thing called vascular friction".

Thanks! I try my best to take care of it, hopefully in a couple years or so i'll have enough saved for a full repaint and put on JDM bumpers and beams.

As for the exhaust. Subarus are a little different then most but not by alot.

Exhaust Manifold -> Up-Pipe -> Turbo -> Downpipe -> Midpipe - Axle-back or mufflers

I have 1 cat in my up-pipe and 2 in the downpipe. eliminating those allows me to run more boost and faster spool up.

I'm sorta the same way but I drive my car a bit more. I do oil changes every 100 miles (yup, Shell Rotella in my car too), change out the air filter after every trip to LA and buy new tires if my car sat for more than 2 days. Gotta pay to play, brah.

Had a friend do a T-belt change and coolant flush on my wagon thursday night. at about 151,000KM, belt had 3 cracks in it, 2 idlers were making noise and the tensioner was leaking a little. Definetly happy I had it done sooner then later. Broke a nipple on my rad so a quick fix until I am able to order a Mishimoto one.

Hey long time no update! Nothing really to say besides that the car is still running fine since the timing belt install and well I started a new job making much more money.

Talked a friend last night that has a fully build 04 STi, and I mean nothing is stock on the car besides the body.

Anywho heres the hopefully final parts list:

-VF52 (will be sent to Grimmspeed for PnP)
-Tomei EL Header and catless uppipe
-Grimmspeed TGV Deletes
-CNT Catless downpipe
-Some cheap 3" Midpipe
-FMS TMIC
-Deutchworks 740cc Injectors and 65c fuel pump

I'm hoping I can find most parts used. The injectors and pump will be probably the only new parts for sure.

Shooting for 280whp with a really fast spool.

Sounds like a damn solid plan. It's always good to see people supporting a good local (to me) business.

I wish grimmspeed made more products as I would buy them all!

So I found out I have the Sti yellow 550cc injectors so no need to upgrade. I will send them out for cleaning and balancing though.

Also I think I might just use their. Porting service on my stock manifold to save some cash. Apparently low end torque will be better.

Clutch is being ordered tonite, going with a OEM 2007 LGT one, more then enough for my goals and cheap.

Trying to talk a guy down to $400 shipped for a VF46 with 46k miles on it with an AVO actuator

GT Spec EL header with up pipe is $650 brand new so if I dont find something used next month I'll be ordering that.

Finally making some progress smile.gif
