hey everybody! im kenji, and i hope ur all doing well.
i recently heard rumors about an initial D 8 infinity machine showing up at a local arcade/bowling alley around the area. I was pleasantly surprised by the sight of it, especially considering the source of the rumor.
in hopes of catching up with the top times and deciphering the menu options, i took to the interwebz to find menu translations and perhaps a few helpful tips to improve my personal bests'. which is how i found this forum!
useless information: i have a full spec r32, with an s2k close behind. Im japanese-filipino but cant speak or read either language. and i like old cars, like my 78 280z happy.gif
thanks for reading!

An Arcade Stage member eh? Welcome aboard mate, check out the Introduction to IDAS8 thread in the Arcade Stage section, there is a link for translated menus.

Also an R32 huh? Ranking wise it's one of the lower ones but the driver makes the car...unless it's a prius.

lol the love affair all started in 94 when i got to watch a jgtc race with my dad. it wouldnt be until about the time i started watching initial D that i would realize why it was such an impressive race. hoshino racing (calsonic <3) beat out its field of competitors which included my all time favorite car, the F40.

and on a side note, heres my last Z next to my current one, (the Z line got a little chubby after a few decades, huh? lol)

There's really nothing like a Z. What fantastic cars and amazing design right from the beginning (except the 370 - always hated that).

The only bad thing about the Z32 was that godawful engine.

good god, dont even get me started on the phase1 injectors! aside from that, the dozens of tiny vacuum hoses (vacuum leaks is probably more accurate though lmao) and generally large size. i loved it! it was also the car that i owned the longest, so a lot of memories are tied with it.

[QUOTE=Rudy,50 minutes, 24 seconds ago]Welcome to IDW! Here in NJ we only have IDAS7 but I drive a Z33 and it's a blast!
thanks! i LOOOOOVE the sound the VQ makes, its like the sweetest song ever sung.

We still have a good number of Z owners on this forum, including one who owns a Z AND a R32.
Pop into the auto section, post your project etc etc.

You'll be right at home in there.

Heya. I'm more of a rotary guy myself, but I definitely appreciate a good Z. At the moment I drive absolutely nothing of interest, but I'll get there eventually.

Back when they had IDAS3 I drove an ER33 and loved the way the car sounded and handled.

I haven't been there in a while. If they've upgraded, I have to make a trip out there sometime.

Welcome! Your 280z would definitely get my head turning if I ever saw it on the street.

Not a Z owner myself ('88 MR2), but the Z31 and earlier were on my WTB list for some time. Have a friend with a 350z, but he's not a car enthusiast.

Had to look that up. FYI: I will probably never understand MLP references.

Let's stop spamming here. To be continued in another thread.

my apologies on the lateness!
new paint? ehhhh i wouldnt call it that lol. when i picked up the car, it was painted with truck bed liner, or rhinoliner. it looked OK at best from a distance, a faaar distance. it was also caked with fiberglass and body filler, so i sourced some "new" panels and stripped sanded and primed the salvageable parts (litterally, A headlamp bucket and A fender) i haven't touched the back half of the car yet. theres even more body filler and fiberglass back there, and im a little apprehensive about taking it on. facepalm.gif
