The narrator is Fumihiro, so whoever plays that role should be the "narrator" as well.

Oh....I wanted to have Yosuke play him...we don't really need to stick to the seiyuu's original distribution, do we?

Cool.

Moving on to the script, in order to speed things up and since Tesso is a very busy man, I think it's best if everyone who is involved in this project gets to contribute with their own ideas. For this purpose, here's the list of the IDW Official Dub Over Project Team:

Pikachu Fragger (Yuuichi)
Alastair (Itsuki AND Papa)
SgtXDNX (Takumi)
Nomake Wan (Natsuki)
Ryosuke63 (Iketani)
Saint (Bunta)
JZX100 (Kenji)
Tesso (Keisuke)
Kiroshino (Fumihiro)
Ayako Watanabe (Ryosuke)
Yosuke (Narrator)
FC3SSavannaIII (Random Voices)
Sanae (Team's Moral Supporter) tongue.gif

Now, what we should do is, from the script you can ALSO find in this post, pick your own lines and tweak them around to make them funny/insane/whatever. Don't worry though, if you need help/ideas, get in touch with one of the other members, I'm sure we'll all be happy to help. Also, if you have suggestions for any of the characters you aren't playing, let the member who is playing him/her know so that he can tell you what he thinks/be forever grateful for your contribution.

Once we have a draft put together, we should meet up in AIM or IRC to talk about how to get this done. Skype will also be helpful to record conversations so they flow more naturally. At any rate, from now on, any script issues should be kept within the group as to not spoil the surprise for everyone else, okay? PM any of the members if you guys need an opinion on what you've come up with, ok?

Luckily, Itsuki, Papa and Takumi are the only people interacting with Natsuki, so I just gotta drag Jake and Al into a Skype chat and bang out some lines. WOOHOO!

This should be fun. laugh.gif

Thanks Yosuke, you will definitely be a part of this. happy.gif

To Nomake and Ryo-chan: using Audacity, I managed to remove the vocals from the opening theme: Around the World.

It's not perfect but it can be used as a base. Also, I've applied the same process to the actual episode's soundtrack and it works quite well, the voices are mostly gone and most of the SFX are still there. Unfortunately, it also removes the vocals in the two insert songs. If anyone here knows any trick on how to do this better, please let me know!

I'll be posting the links to the actual Japanese audio track from the entire episode plus the one where I removed the voices and the audio-less video in the FIRST POST so people can start playing around with them to see what's the best solution for when we'll need to do the final encoding.

But I'll download the first episode elsewhere using torrent. smile.gif I have the complete VCD set (1st to 3rd Stage), but it's not with me right now.

Hashi:

Import your stereo file into Audacity.
Open the track menu (click the arrow next to the track title), and choose “Split Stereo Track.”
Select the lower track (the right channel) by clicking it in the area around the mute/solo buttons.
Choose “Invert” from the Effects menu.
Using the track menus, change each track to “Mono.”
Select All and Export as WAV or MP3

You can now find SendSpace mirrors on the first post. I hope they work for you! happy.gif

Before I begin, I'd like to know what theme we're writing about: racing, sexual anxiety, etc.?

For my one scene, I need Keisuke (Tesso) and Iketani (Ryosuke63). Let me know what you guys want to "discuss" during this scene via PM:

Iketani - We've got visitors.
- 00:13:15,888 --> 00:13:16,912
Iketani - <i>The Red Suns? </i>
- 00:13:17,556 --> 00:13:20,047
Iketani - <i>Are they the Red Suns, </i>
- <i>the fastest drivers in Akagi? </i>
- 00:13:53,959 --> 00:13:57,486
Keisuke - We're the members
- of the Akagi Red Suns Team.
- 00:13:58,297 --> 00:14:00,197
Keisuke - I don't want to be rude but...
- 00:14:00,599 --> 00:14:05,195
Keisuke - Who's the fastest team, or driver,
- on this mountain? Please tell us.
- 00:14:05,804 --> 00:14:07,135
Random - What do they want?
- - We're the fastest.
- 00:14:08,073 --> 00:14:11,600
Iketani - We're the Akina Speed Stars Team.
- 00:14:11,844 --> 00:14:13,539
Iketani - We consider
- ourselves the fastest here.
- 00:14:15,514 --> 00:14:16,913
Keisuke - Then we've found
- what we're looking for!
- 00:14:17,416 --> 00:14:19,281
Keisuke - Would you like to hold
- a practice session...
- 00:14:19,385 --> 00:14:21,751
Keisuke - ...with our team, the Akagi Red Suns,
- here at Mt. Akina?
- 00:14:26,659 --> 00:14:29,719
Iketani - Eh??
Itsuki - Wow! What a great turn of events!
- 00:14:30,763 --> 00:14:32,128
Fumihiro - What do you think?
- 00:14:32,264 --> 00:14:34,232
Fumihiro - Since we usually only run
- with people we know...
- 00:14:34,333 --> 00:14:35,698
Fumihiro - ...it's becoming routine.
- 00:14:35,868 --> 00:14:38,996
Fumihiro - Running against other teams
- gives us a new challenge.
- 00:14:39,438 --> 00:14:41,929
Fumihiro - We can make new friends
- and exchange knowledge.
- 00:14:42,141 --> 00:14:43,972
Fumihiro - And it improves our skills too.
- 00:14:44,076 --> 00:14:45,043
Fumihiro - At first...
- 00:14:45,177 --> 00:14:46,337
Fumihiro - ...we can run together.
- 00:14:46,445 --> 00:14:48,106
Fumihiro - Then each team will be
- represented by one driver...
- 00:14:48,213 --> 00:14:49,737
Fumihiro - ...to compete in both
- uphill and downhill.
- 00:14:50,049 --> 00:14:51,880
Fumihiro - We aren't concerned
- about winning or losing.
- 00:14:51,984 --> 00:14:54,475
Fumihiro - We only seek to develop
- friendship between the teams.
- 00:14:54,653 --> 00:14:55,620
Fumihiro - What do you think?
- 00:14:56,522 --> 00:14:58,820
Iketani - If you put it that way,
- how can we refuse?
- 00:14:58,924 --> 00:14:59,891
Kenji - Okay.
- 00:15:00,559 --> 00:15:03,687
Fumihiro - How about next
- Saturday at 10 o'clock?
- 00:15:03,829 --> 00:15:05,091
Iketani - Okay, fine.
- 00:15:05,731 --> 00:15:09,030
Keisuke - Today we'll just take it easy.
- 00:15:09,401 --> 00:15:11,494

No probs. happy.gif

To the Team:

Not that I need to say this but, now we have the cast and the necessary media, I trust you'll follow Kiroshino's example and coordinate with each other so that we can make this truly epic. As for me, if there's anything else I can do, please let me know. I'll be happy to help as much as I can.

The Team is just the list of people who will provide their voices and help re-writing the script for the first episode. It's not a closed membership since, if we do more episodes, we'll need new people to do the other characters. Probably going to have to work from scratch on the audio if we want SFX and our own music. The voiceless track is fantastic, no doubt, but if we go that way it should be to make a serious dub on top of the funny one.

Two audio tracks, anyone? Funny + Serious...? biggrin.gif

Weird...it works for me.

Anyway, here's a sendspace one.

Two tracks would be good. We could encode the video as a mkv or ogm to have both tracks so people can select whichever they want to hear. It's entirely up to you though, you're the artists here! happy.gif

Oh thanks! I dunno, I can still hear the voices a bit. I think just singing over the original would do, since this version removes the beat. Thanks for trying this though! I've used that technique many times before. happy.gif

No worries! Like I said, it's far from perfect...unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a proper instrumental version. At any rate, I'll look forward to listening to you two sing. It'll be "Around the World - ft. Natsuki&Iketani" tongue.gif

No worries about the lack of a proper instrumental version of the title track. DJ Tessou took the time to throw the original tv length track into audacity and work his magic to make a karaoke mix.
