Think GT5 is still awhiles off? Quit your thinking, it's not good for you. Stick to listening. Listen to Kazunori Yamauchi, for example, who reckons the game will be out in Japan by next summer. Around July-ish. Which if precedent is anything to go by (and it normally is, that's why they call it precedent), we can expect an American release by next Christmas and a PAL release in...what, 2009? And that's if everything goes according to plan. Which, it being Gran Turismo, it probably won't.

sweet now i dont need to buy a ps3 for more than a year. maybe they'll have a few more price drops by then, or maybe package GT5 in a ps3 (which they did back in the day with PS2. i should know since i have that bundle).

Given the graphical rediculousness of GT5 and the new emphasis (by which I mean any attention at all to) on AI, I'd expect it summer 09. GT2 was charming with its rear engine, front wheel drive Suzuki Cappuccino and Capcino, but I think I'd prefer a flawless game, which Polyphony will doubtlessly make a valiant effort to give. SuperLate FTW!

2009 eh? well if this rumour (sketchy to say the least) is anything to go by, it'll be competing with Forza 3:

If they are saying Summer 2008 I also expect them to delay it to early 2009. Which is good and bad news for me, since I don't have a PS3 yet, the price will probably drop to $299-350 by that time. But it sucks that GT5 is still more than 1 year away.
