Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz 2 GB of RAM 667MHz DDR2 A total of 950GB of Hard drive (2 internal + 1 external) nVidia GeForce 8500 GT Got 4.8 on 7.9 on Windows 7. Cause? My graphic card. It ran wonderfully. No lag or whatever. Way better than Vista performance wise. I'm looking forward to the full release (and to wait for a SP1 and to buy a licence).

Official public download here : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/dd353205.aspx Only the first 2.5Million of people will be able to get it Also, you'll probably hit a "Server is too busy" message. Two choices: 1. Spam the refresh button. 2. Wait until 12:00pm PST (3:00PM Est) to probably have a better chance to be to download it. Also, be sure to have a LIVE ID account or an hotmail account for that. Good Luck (you'll need it) and good download. EDIT 32 & 64-bits English, Japanese, Arabic and two other weird language available. Some languages are not available in 64-bit. This post has been edited by Lebon14 on Jan 9 2009, 10:11 AM |

But trying isn't costing anything right? ------------------------------- OK. There were problems with the servers. So what now? Since it's a public beta, here are the downloads. They will be removed when needed : Windows 7 x86 (32-bits) : http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/3...LFRE_EN_DVD.iso Windows 7 x64 (64bits) : http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/3...XFRE_EN_DVD.ISO EDITTTTTTT http://www.computerworld.com/action/articl...ticleId=9125626 EDIT #2 There are good news about serial keys. A lot of people has been able to get a serial key for both 32-bits and 64-bits... F5-Spamming the official Serial Key generator page. What do you need to do? Very easy. First, go here : TechCenter Home Then, in the top right corner, there's a login link. Login with your WindowsLive ID or hotmail account. Once it's done, Then click this link according to the version you want : 64-bits 32-bits YES IT GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE, it's normal Then, clicking this link, upon loading will give you those links (don't click those directly, they'll redirect you) : 32-bits : Spam this to get a 32-bits key 64-bits : Spam this to get a 64-bits key F5 those page. Keep faith. Once the page is loaded and charges the error, press F5 or refresh in your browser. Maybe within' 20 or 30 refresh, you'll get it. Myself has been able to get one Proof : Enjoy guys, it's here. Btw, once the serial generator hits 2.5 million keys generated... you know what will happen : no more keys. Thing is - even though I sign in with different mail addresses, the keys look all the same............ So the theory of them making the keys active for the official release is probably a dream. Could someone post MD5 checksums or other sums for the images plz? PeAcE. This post has been edited by khat17 on Jan 10 2009, 07:15 AM |

Apprentely, each hotmail/live ID can get 5 keys of each editions. Also, those key are the 5 keys you will get are exactly the same everyone else are getting. So in other words, THE KEYS ARE THE SAME!! Like someone said on Windows 7 forum here are the different keys you can get, NO YOU WON'T GET A DIFFERENT ONE : From the x64 link: (64bit) JYDV8-H8VXG-74RPT-6BJPB-X42V4 RFFTV-J6K7W-MHBQJ-XYMMJ-Q8DCH 482XP-6J9WR-4JXT3-VBPP6-FQF4M D9RHV-JG8XC-C77H2-3YF6D-RYRJ9 7XRCQ-RPY28-YY9P8-R6HD8-84GH3 From the x86 link: (32bit) 6JKV2-QPB8H-RQ893-FW7TM-PBJ73 4HJRK-X6Q28-HWRFY-WDYHJ-K8HDH GG4MQ-MGK72-HVXFW-KHCRF-KW6KY QXV7B-K78W2-QGPR6-9FWH9-KGMM7 TQ32R-WFBDM-GFHD2-QGVMH-3P9GC Each has an unlimited use, so, it doesn't matter if we post 'em or not. Those will only be working with the betas of Windows 7. If you thought "YESH, I have a free RTM Win7!" You failed. If someone is smart-ass enough, they can see, in my screenshot in the tuto post, that my key isn't in the 5 keys. Yes, it's the case. Those you got by spamming yesterday evening are UNIQUE. Too bad for those who missed it. |

Anyways, I stumbled across some rather fancy RAID tests done under the Windows 7 and it greatly increases output from advanced RAID arrays such as 5 and 6. |

None of which worked. @ GC8Vdrifter - No the number of partitions don't matter. Windows can load partitions from C - Z. If you run out of letters then you're in problems. A-B are reserved for FLOPPY, and the rest for any HDD, ODD, or removable storage. PeAcE. |

The first time you open Windows 7 after the install, it takes ~470MB of RAM. Note that after a little while of use, it will still be a little like Vista : Those soft are opened in my Win7 : - MSN + Conversation - Firefox (8 tabs) - Adobe Audition 1.5 - Windows Explorer (4 folders) - foobar2000 - mIRC - Azureus - AVG 8 Free Seven currently takes 1.08GB of RAM. IF you remove all those running apps, it will get back at ~600-700MB of RAM. This post has been edited by Lebon14 on Feb 17 2009, 10:42 AM
