Hey guys, wanted to get my post count up a bit before I went ahead and made this thread. Decided that I might as well do it now.

You guys won't know me all that well yet, as I've only just started posting on IDW, but I've been around the forum for a while now, read a few fanfics and other stuff.
Initial D has been a big inspiration for me for many years, as it got me both into the techical side of cars and anime as a whole.

I've also been writing short stories and fiction since I was in grade school, and just last November I participated in the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) for the first time.
Before that however, I have been writing my own piece of automotive fiction, a fully fledged novel effort, for about three years now.

Taking a similar premise to Initial D (But not blatantly ripping it off) my novel tells the story of a young man in training to become a professional racing driver by his older brother. After attending a local street racing meet with his best friend he is forced into a impromptu race and wins by sheer luck.
The losing racer goes on to tell his friends who go after him, and the story develops gradually into a tale of lies, friendship, betrayal, and a young man's fight for his very sanity.
It also tells the story of two best friends who turned on each other 25 years ago and set in motion a chain of events that would bring about the deaths of many an innocent racer.

Now what I am proposing, as I have started to lose my inspiration for the novel once again, is to write a Fanfic based in the world of Initial D, but interweaving characters from my own work.

So yeah what are your opinions on this idea? If you guys are interested I'll go into a bit more detail about what (few) ideas I have at this point.

I'm always happy to see new Initial D fanfictions so, if you want, post the first chapter(s) and I'll let you know what I think. That said, since you've entered a writing seminar and you've written about racing before, I'm sure it'll be good.

I'll look forward to it! happy.gif

Well having just read Midnight Drifter's new chapter to his FanFic, I was reminded about starting this up.

I decided against writing a FanFic of my own, since I've never done one and have never really been into them since I started writing my own fiction.
So yeah, that header will probably have to be changed at some point happy.gif

Anyway, I decided instead to do an offshoot to my novel, which may or may not be a legitimate effort if I get my main work published. Consider this to be a test bed, or at worst a terrible idea that will fail hard... either way its all in good fun.

So, as my main novel is (working) titled: "Drive - The Curse Of The White Racer" I decided to follow a similar trail of thought for the title of this little story.
I'm calling this one "Drive - Legend Of The Snow Queen"

The Snow Queen referring to the main character, which you can already tell is a bit different from most racing type fiction - it will be a leading lady!

Now without further adieu, here is the very rough little blurb I've just written up at about 3am...

Teaser

For our souls, a moment in time is but a meaningless passing, a fleeting gesture of existence.
A lifetime, and fate which mercilessly controls it, is however decided in such brief moments.

For three young souls living in Japan in the year of 1985, fate dealt them all a deadly hand. Their lives and existence thereafter were decided in a simple act of selfishness. Once closest friends became hated rivals, and a night of pointless feuding resulted in a curse which would bring others, miles away and many years into the future, to their very knees in pain and suffering.

This is the story of those three friends; a tale of the legendary racing queen of the snow, and her eventual downfall.

This is the story, of Naomi Nakamura…

Now to remember to actually write something a little more substancial, stay tuned!

Any comments/criticisms/advice is more than welcome.
