Well I found my way here and decided to join. I have an '84 Celica GT-S Liftback while it doesn't have crazy stock horsepower (115hp) its got some nice torque to compensate (140 ft-lbs.). Its rear wheel drive, 5sp, and has a good suspension set-up stock. I have already started to mod it and make it a little quicker, mostly the cheaper mods like removing AC, switching to electric fan, intake, exhaust, and a few other things. Do you guys think its a good platform to start to learn drifting? I've had it for almost a year now and definitely know its limits, but have yet to go to a wide open safe area to try to start learning some techniques. |

Drifting can be induced with a good suspension setup. However a good rule of thumb is the heavier the car is, then the more torque you'll need to break it loose. |

It has the first 3 acts on it and it left me at a big cliffhanger, now I definitely gotta get the next one. Are the newer acts released on DVD yet? And is the Tokyopop version the one to get, it has both english and jap subtitles/voiceovers so I guess it would be the better one. And my car stock is 2700 lbs. a little heavy but I have already taken the AC out (alot of weight there) and switched to elec. fan so its probably 50-75 lbs lighter. |
