Will you still be using that oh so famous name that i came up with Dj cryptomundo?

Hm? CryptoMundo wasn't your thing - it was some corporation from a story we read on one of Pikachu Fragger's old Skype shows, remember?

Anyway, I'll do my best to do the Miku show tonight, but in the event I can't, it will be hosted at my normal time of Saturday-Sunday night.

Tonight's show, I will be playing the first three albums from landmark electronic pop band YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA:

user posted imageuser posted imageuser posted image

Yellow Magic Orchestra (1978)
Solid State Survivor (1979)
増殖 X∞Multiplies (1980)

YMO are one of the most influential groups in electronic music history, and are to date the most popular band in Japanese music history, selling millions of albums, and for a time, being more popular than The Beatles. Their sound has been often compared to Kraftwerk.
Don't miss this show, if you enjoy any kind of electronic music!

Was your show on last night? I popped in a little late due to having watched a movie right after my show, but I didn't see anything going on at 3AM.

Heck, even the chat had died around 3:30.

No I didn't forget, but yes I did miss the show. I will instead broadcast it next week, same time. It will be part 2 of the YMO special and I will be playing the following three albums:

user posted image

BGM (1981)
Technodelic (1981)
Naughty Boys (1983)

Technodelic is considered one of the most influential electronic albums in history, being one of the first to feature sampling - common practice for almost all dance artists today.
Naughty Boys features one of their biggest pop hits - "Kimi ni Mune Kyun", which was recently covered for the ED of the anime "Maria Holic".

Be sure to tune in!

Next show is the final part in the YMO Special, and features the following two albums:

user posted image

Service (1983)
After Service (1984)

Service is YMO's last official studio album (not counting "Technodon" as "YMO" in 1993.)
After Service is a fantastic double-LP live album, featuring many of their best songs.

Be sure to tune in!

I had expected to be playing a selection of Primus songs, but just realized I've already done that show a while ago. Instead, I will be playing songs from one of the most underappreciated artists in music today:

nantoka-P

Very creative stuff. Don't miss it!

AW SHIT! I'M NECROPOSTING IN THIS THREAD, YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS. YOU DON'T? WELL YOU SHOULD, MOTHERFUCKER. WHY AM I YELLING? THAT DOESN'T MATTER.

That's right, I'm coming back for routine shows! I've got a new laptop and am raring to go play tons of great stuff I've discovered over the past year. Expect some seriously cool stuff to be played. You know how awesome Pikachu Fragger and Nomake Wan's shows are? Picture how cool the actual shows are, but instead translate that coolness to sound. That's how cool the music I'll be playing is. Only the best for you glorious bastards.

First up, I'll be playing not one - but the first two albums by LEGENDARY, highly influential proto-electro outfit...

LOGIC SYSTEM

user posted image user posted image

QUOTE
Logic System is a musical project of Hideki Matsutake. Hideki started as an assistant for Isao Tomita in the 70's and is well-known as the sequencer programmer and modular synthesizer operator for the Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), but he wasn't a member of YMO. He worked on several of their albums and toured with his huge collection of synths. He also did sequencing work for numerous technopop albums for other artists, particularily in the early 80's. In 1996 he performed in a big concert event organized by Isao Tomita and was also guest on Towa Tei albums. On his website is a huge number of MIDI files he released, with some of YMO's original songs.

What are those first two albums?

user posted imageuser posted image

Those would be the first, Logic, and the second, Venus, both from 1981. This WILL blow your mind, so don't miss it!! The time?

THIS SATURDAY, 2:30AM EST (11:30PM PST)

BE THERE. OR BE... ROUND.

Probably at some point, yes. I can't even imagine how many shows I am going to have to do to cover everything I have. I may even have to add another night to my schedule, depending on how things go.

And thanks, Meteor.

Due to technical difficulties on my and the server's end, I was unable to broadcast the second album planned for the night, Venus. Instead, now that the issues are worked out, I will be playing Venus at the start of the next show, along with Logic System's THIRD album "Orient Express":

Filling in for Fragger's show last night was probably the most spontaneous thing I've seen anyone do in a while. I'm really glad it worked out! It was a ton of fun last night guys! Thank you to all those who came into the IRC chat and for the song requests! I swear, the requests section of the show was the most epic yet! Thank you for doing this Kyon, you're a legend! awesome.gif

I just texted him and he said there is indeed a show tonight.

Thompson Twins!? I love it! Excellent choice.

Play With Me had better be on that playlist somewhere.

Two part show? Thompson Twins? DJ CryptoMundo? Friday and Saturday night? Ice cream sandwiches? Statements that end in question marks? EPIC. I will be all over this come Friday night! biggrin.gif

The next show will be a two-hour retrospective of '80s works by the always popular, always controversial pop idol, SEIKO MATSUDA.
