Based on personal preference...

FD is the better of the three on all round...

FC if u wanna own akagi...

RX-8 if u wanna own the starts and block the rest of the way..

But FD overall...

According to the website, the FC is 3rd. I can't remember where the FD is, probably 2nd. They are extremely closely matched and i'll own both soon. Rotary fan.

If the ranking is based off the Japanese arcades, then there isnt going to be an RX 8 in them unless they got upgraded recently.

lol...

Dont pick the Rx-8, its not as good as, lets say, the s2000...

Its really about driving preference, if u like to look and feel of the Rx-8, feel free to pick it..

But if ur going on rank wise, pick some other FR then, it'll see slower than rx-7's and s2000's...

As i said, personal preference, im pretty sure its in there though..

On both dry AND wet it goes (all courses)

1. Trueno
2. FD
3. s2000
4. GC8(v)
5. levin

But on JUST dry (all courses)

1. trueno
2. levin
3. s2000
4. FC
5. FD

But on the maps that count: myogi both, akagi both, akina both, iron dh and tsu both...and both wet and dry

1. Trueno
2. FD
3. s2000
4. GC8
5. cappa

All this is found on http://initial-d.info/perf/v4/index.jsp - the jap version so yes, it might differ but its the best source i have...

1st of all, dont pick the RX8? seriously this is what i f**king hate most about noobs, why do you expect everyone just to jump onto the top car bandwagon? you dont even know how the RX8 drives, i doubt you've even used one so your comment being based off an FT RX8 is totally out of the question.

it doesnt matter what car you choose, its not like the 'god' car is going to get you wins.
a noob will always be a noob unless you figure out how to play the game first.

its good in this version cos the 'god' car isnt all so good at battling.

Ill def be making an RX 8 when my area gets Arcade 4. I have loved it in A3. Also, since there really isnt any hard data on the RX 8, im willing to try it out.

I drove my friend's RX-8 today to test drive. It's a pretty good car. It's not gonna own any course like V3, but its a solid car and worth a buy. And since it's a 6 gear, you should get the jump on all the 5 gear top cars.

Have fun smile.gif

based on what i've seen yesterday, the rx-8 still is strong in terms of performance... but it's not as dominant as it used to be in v3... the trend still continues here, i guess (wherein the strongest car from the previous version gets slapped -- either slightly or a lot -- in the next version)...

Thread revival~
RX-8 is pretty well rounded up with FD on every map...
The acceleration just simply superb w00t2.gif , although not as fast as some other cars (Altezza, etc)

RX-8 is easier to turn and it's stable, as long as you don't hold the drift too long... [This car turns TAIL first pinch2.gif ]
it's a bit sensitive in Irohazaka though, because it can U-turn easily when wall raping because of it's slightly tighter turning radius...

In performance tuning, one should emphasize more in Engine [obviously], Suspension, Body, ECU and finally Intake. When I said emphasize, it doesn't mean FT Suspension first and leave the Intake part zero, NO. It still needs to be balanced up. Tune wisely.

In Suspension part, the Step 3- Install Racing Suspension makes the biggest difference. So, try to aim for that first IMO. smile.gif

What?! RX8 Is Amazing I Just FTd Mine Recently And The Acceleration Is Crazy! It's Very Stable Around Corners And I Love It. FD Tends To Slide More From Driving My Friend's Car But I Think That's Because He Hasn't Tuned It In The Best Possible Way But Yeah RX8 Is A Noob Friendly Car. I Have Never Regret Choosing It..The RX8 Doesnt Have Turbo Unlike Both The RX7s So It Doesnt Suffer Turbo Lag (Revving Problems) So It Has Smooth Acceleration Whenever..However It Does Seem A Bit Weak On Irohazaka And Akina..

And, aren't you a bit late to be joining their discussion? Bumping 1 year old threads is bad you know.

But yeah, the RX8 is an ok car. smile.gif

My Friend Tried To Max Engine Then Exhaust, His Car Slides Too Much..Not Recommended For A Turbo Car As It's Fast Enough As It Is..

maybe he's not braking enough...

-------------

and about the topic, i myself have an FT'd rx-8, and i can say it's good enough to keep up with my GC8 in terms of TA's... i just had some gripes with it when i was still tuning it because its 6th gear did not pick up speed that quickly...

Just to clarify, there is no such thing as "turbo lag" in ID4. Its a game, people.

It's not that the car starts sliding more when you upgrade engine and exhaust first. It just gets faster.

If you take certain turns beyond a certain speed without braking, you lose control of the car (i.e.: oversteer, or slide). It becomes more noticeable if you tune engine and exhaust first because you accelerate faster and can thus reach the turns going at a higher speed, thus causing you to oversteer or slip on turns that you could take full gas when not yet tuned.

Lesson learned: Use the brakes.

That's funny, me driving an FD got wiped by an RX-8. Then again the guy did seem to know how to drive on Iro better than I did, so I guess that doesnt really count =/

In my use, the RX-8 is a pretty nice car, but you just need to watch how it enters a turn. It's not AS smooth as the FD if you're used to something a little easier on the corners, so it takes a bit of adjusting to get used to it.
