Hello my name's Jeff or Plentymoon whichever you would like to call me.

I own a 1983 Mazda RX7 12 streetported watched Initial D a few years ago and searched up rotary engine quick bought my first sports car a 1988 Mazda rx7 fc3s n/a fun car beat a lot of people on the streets with it had to unfortunately sell if due to lack of money to keepservicing the car and changing parts, now I own the older first gen rx7 and currently rebuilding the engine for the summer time cruising.
I run a rotary car club here in Burley Idaho called the Rotary Knight

Our group Consists of 2 first gen rx7s and one 2nd gen, and the other two are RX8s

Group list:

Jeff (me) 83 Mazda Rx7 FB 12a streetported

David 85 Mazda Rx7 FB 12a stock

Trever 05 Mazda Rx8 N/A tuned

Ayman 05 Mazda Rx8 N/A Lightened Flywheel and Exhaust

Nick 1988 Mazda Rx7 N/A modified Stock exhaust

Basically if I had not watched all of initial D when I had I would have never met my friends or been interested in cars or even heard of the rotary engine or been interested in trying to build a faster car for drifting and other fun racing activities.

Welcome man, make yourself at home. Since this forum is full of old Japanese car fanboys (and not so old ones too, as well as non-Japanese, so basically all cars), we wouldn't mind seeing some pics of your beauties. Anyways, feel free to participate in all threads and sections, and don't hesitate to make this place a little more alive.

Once again, welcome!

Village idiots aside, I have to ask what you were able to "beat on the streets" with an 88 nonturbo RX7. I've driven them, and they aren't particularly quick.

I mean, I've been known to totally pwn an Ames Cyride bus in the family's '86 Mazda bike truck every now and again, but I thought it was too pathetic to brag about.

Cyride is only good for bus surfing.

Or the drunk bus. That was useful too.

It's also totally good for doing flybys in your totally sweet $1,500 Civic DX to show off those amazing Walmart spinner hubcaps and prove who the fastest really is on the mean streets where life blazes by at 25mph.

I love the old RX7s as well, particularly the FC. The nonturbo models are about as potent as a geriatric flaccid tube steak, but they're still beautiful ripoffs of the Porsche 944. The turbo models are a gift from above.

But the GTUs is basically a Turbo without the turbocharger... why would you like the GTUs more? Because it's rare? Because it's slightly faster than the base model car due to better wheels and an LSD?

I would mainly beat Hondas only because they would harass me until I would race but they are no match for 8K Rpms first and 2nd gear and they would give up after they hit 4th gear when I would stay just a nose ahead.
