Yamauchi mentioned in an unrelated article recently that GT5 "might not be released until 2009".

well that's lame. i've been looking for an excuse to buy a ps3, and GT5 was probably going to be it. because bluray alone wasnt enough, IMO.

iduno, maybe when i can spare the cash i'll pick one up with gt5p.... but i got things i need to take care of money-wise first.

if you're not in a rush, i guess waiting is the best option -- i can't see prices for consoles any getting higher, and i'm sure by the time GT5 gets released there'll be a bundle with a PS3, which might save you a few extra bucks in the long run.

^probably. after my friend fried my original ps2 trying to put in a mod chip, the replacement one came bundled with GT3. would be nice to bundle GT5 with ps3.

are those logitech MOMO racing wheels compatible with the PS3? I'll probably think about getting GT5 if I have the spare buck to buy a wheel.

im problay gonna wait for the GT5 ps3 bundle too, or i might buy the MGS4 bundle pack, logitech G25 is the best wheel for GT5, it has clutch and 6MT, i tried the logitech made for GT4, it was shitty, logitech G25 is the best wheel out/made so far. it has 900 degree steering, clutch/brake/accel pedals, and you can put the shift knob on either left or right side because its seperate from the steering wheel. and for those ppl who cant drive manual theres paddle shift and sequential manual (think of id3/4), up and down shifting.

the irony of this thread is i recently bought a ps3 and gt5p (though it was justified in another thread).

to be honest, the G25, while amazing, isnt better ENOUGH for me to purchase. i have a DF (got for GT3) and DFP (got for GT4), and having pulled the DFP out again for gt5p, i'm more than satisfied with its performance as a wheel. i don't really care at all about the 6MT H-shifter since in a race i would always opt for paddles anyway. and i also don't care that much since i drive a 5MT for real every day; so its not like i need to get that urge out of my system or anything. maybe if it weren't 300$... because the only time i'll spend 300$ on a game preipheral is for this: pic 1 pic2

I honestly don't care what wheel I'll end up buying since Logitech wheels are so damn rare here. So rare that the moment I accidentally stumbled upon that MOMO racing wheel at some random shop I was browsing through, I immediately felt that it'll be my one single hope for returning to sim-racing. dry.gif

I have a DFP, but the G25 is still a different beast. You know, there's not only the clutch & the H-shifter, but the wheel also is even smoother when you countersteer. Instead of forcing it to countersteer, you let it go. There's also the wheel being bigger...
