I seem to recall a time when there were day/time restrictions for available DJ times, but I can't seem to find it around here.

I need to know so I can set up a suitable time slot for my show. wink2.gif

Just talk to perry man he will be able to set you up with a time slot or you can be like me and just starting your show when there's no one scheduled.

I'll set up a playlist for Friday and Saturday to be played before IDR's show, so we can have 3 shows stacked up on both nights. happy.gif

The 4am - 4pm (Pacific Time) is the Mandatory Initial D / Super Eurobeat time. Any other time that is not scheduled (gray blocks) is up for grab. smile.gif

Come on before me, then, man! Then we can have 4 shows in a row! biggrin.gif

Looks like my prime slot would be 9:00PM PST right before IDR's deal.

@ Perry: Thanks for showing me where that was. I knew it was still here somewhere, but couldn't remember where I saw it originally. happy.gif

Man, that schedule is so bare. sad.gif We need new blood in our DJ list! Especially DJs that can actually like, do daily shows!

My hours may change a bit here soon... I got a job offer that would have me working Wednesday through Sunday from 9 PM PST to 6 AM PST... so obviously, the Friday and Saturday shows would have to be moved earlier, back to about 6 PM PST until 8 PM PST or so.

But I don't have the job yet, we'll see. There's about a 50/50 chance. Basically I'm possibly replacing a guy who's having medical problems. If he has to leave one more time, I'm in. If he gets better, then I keep job hunting. We'll know for sure in a week's time.

My Friday playlist has just been finalized, and it looks pretty damn good. I made sure to get a balance of music styles to suit everybody listening.

My show will be on Friday at 9:00-10:00 PM CST and will lead into IDR's show, which will lead into N1's show. The days of multiple DJs are BACK, demmit! laugh.gif

EDIT: Due to the release of SEB185 recently, I'm replacing a good amount of non-Eurobeat tracks with some fantastic tracks off of 185 since they're so damn addictive. tongue.gif

I hate dealing with Winamp these days. I wish there was a way to get iTunes to broadcast through SHOUTcast. Winamp is so terribly unorganized. I guess if I used the obvious method of setting up a playlist ahead of time, I could cope with Winamp.

Ugh. In order to bypass the non-availability of a stereo mix thanks to Microsoft being afraid of piracy (like it's that difficult on the internet), I recorded the intro and outro dialogue ahead of time and mixed it with music in Audacity. Everything else is live, baby!!

Getting a playlist set up is daunting indeed. I spent a lot of time getting a good mix of styles into tomorrows set, and that takes a bit of working when it's all Eurobeat. tongue.gif

Ok. So i got a couple of things to say

Tomorrow: theres a chance that i'll miss out a couple of shows. I goto get a vacination for the Flu (which is gay). So i might miss out entirely of The New Guys show and half of Tesso's show but if lucky, i might be able to have StreamRipper running in the background. if it does, then that would be awesome

Secondly: Since when was i called 'DJ InitialDRulz'? Last time i remembered it was 'A Retarded Person' xD. Oh well, i'll call myself DJ InitialDRulz from now on

Thirdly: Set Times gives me set ripping times. No i can't pull what The New Guy pulls.
'You missed my show' 'i go at random times'. Congratulations, i'm still in school so i can't tune in tongue.gif

But set times can make me set up StreamRipper on my router which could cut me a lot of painful times.

That is all.

So you're using Vista, right? In Vista, you can do a broadcast. I actually got Stereo Mix working in Vista and tested it successfully on the radio. The problem is no longer Vista's audio controller--it's that SHOUTcast's control panel does not interact with Vista's volume controls the way it should. So the "Push to Talk" and "Lock" buttons do not work. You have to manually adjust the volumes... which is annoying.

It's Shoutcast's fault though for not releasing a Vista-compatible client. Weak.

But I don't get it... if the intro and outro are recorded, how is the rest live?

I'm still providing commentary between songs, and that's live.

Also, HOW THE HELL did you get stereo mix working in Vista? I could do so much more if I wasn't locked out of it.

That's what I'm saying though, how are you doing commentary? Just switching between "Winamp" and "Mic" like Paula-tan used to do?

I got his Stereo Mix working, but now he gets to enjoy the fun that is trying to make a microphone into a playback device in Vista. grin2.gif

HINT: Your speaker properties hold the answer... just don't forget to enable mic boost in your microphone properties!

Playback devices --> speakers --> enable frontmic (in my case) and raise volume a bit for it to work.

Right?

Bingo. No idea why they designed it that way but that's how it works. Now, if Shoutcast's designers gave a flying f**k, then they would write a version of their software where the "Push to Talk" button points towards the address space to alter the Level for Mic Playback in Vista, but they don't, so no such thing exists. Therefore you have to do it by hand.

Which is annoying but possible... unless you crash your audio properties panel, which I seem to be able to do whenever I change an option and attempt to apply the change (in the properties page for Speakers). I love you, Vista. rolleyes.gif

Correction on my part: my show will be on a 9PM PST, not CST as I stated earlier. My super huge bad. tongue.gif

That means I'll be around at 11:00CST for those of you near me.
