Wow thats a bit, Got a list of mods/pictures? I payed 2400 for mine- That included a Trd suspension (spring and shocks) with a decently tuned redtop 4age. The exterior isnt perfect, but far from bad- minimal body damage my bondo can fix then a paint job. Interior excluding the drivers seat and dash is excellent. Then theres little thigns, pedals, momo steering wheel, steel brakes lines etc.

In the market for a 1987-1993 Mustang 5.0 (LX or GT; Preferablly the fastback style)...

If all else completly fails on the 'Stang, I'll retort down to a 1993-1997 Ford Probe GT...

dont give up on the stang. there are so many of those damn things around there is NO excuse not to have one.
I had a freind sell one that was one of the nicest fox's I have ever seen. And I hate the way they look(shrugs). fastpack cobra. black with red pin stripes cobra r rims. 5speed and a 300hp 5.0. That car was so bad ass.
Guess how much he sold it for... 1800bucks... blink.gif !
(he sold it to a freinds freind or something)

hell, if you cant find a nice fox go for a 3rdgen fbod. IIRC they where fairly light too. I know its not a ford but still.. v8 rwd coupe... sameshit.. tongue.gif

No, the Camaro is not the same as the Mustang, but you have the "shit" part correct... tongue.gif

I don't like the way the 3rd gen F-Bodies look, and I don't know anything on tuning GM engines...Hell, I don't even know what kind of engines they run...On top of that, I'm not much of a 1975+ GM fan in the first place, with the exception of the Corvette, but I can't afford one of those... wink2.gif

BTW: The Mustang LX 5.0 Hatchback has a curb weight of around ~2820lbs...The Notchback is slightly lighter with a weight of around ~2770lbs, and the GT is about at most 100lbs heavier than the LX 5.0 Hatchback...I think the 3rd gen Camaro coupes weight about ~3250lbs...

300-500lbs can make all the immediate difference, and I'm already Ford-bias, soo... wink2.gif

*reads the topic*

I have a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme in kinda of good and bad conditions. On the outside. there are rust stains below the two doors and..ok it looks kinda bad, there is a deep long scratch on the right side of the car and alot more. Engine is weak i guess. The car is automatic and is mine...but still is my grandfathers car...although he gave it to me dry.gif .. Does that count? blink.gif

Well a "good" stock 86 is worth about 3000 bucks- if its in DAMN nice condition... im talking greta paint great interior good engine- 4000 maybe a little higher (check club 4a and ebay- theres "blue book" and what theyre really worht, if its not worth it to you go look else where- there are always "good" deals- but thats an average.)

Front and rear strut towers can be had in a set for under 100 bucks, and exhaust i wouldny pay more then a couple hundred for a GOOD one as well.
But she looked 18 of..

I dont see whats so sad about the 86 being known for drift today. True when it cam out it was a work of its time- being both an awesome track and rally car.

Motor sports in general are dominated by the big- the powerful- and the expensive. Something the 86 is hardly- topping in at around 130 horsepower stock. In drifting competitions many of these cars can keep up with the 4 or 500+ turbocharged cars, and few 86s go over 200. I think its great and very well worth pointing out that a 20 year old car- which is greatly "underpowered" to most, can outpreform even the top end machines of today of this type of sport.

being both an awesome track and rally car.

It may be RWD and a current bargain for SCCA rallying but in it's time it was no championship winning car. Group B was the main championship of it's time and Toyota had already made a feeble 2WD effort with the Celica Twin Cam Turbo. It (the Celica) won Safari in 1984 I believe but that was about it. The Celica All-Trac was gaining ground in Group A, and Group N, which would have been the AE86's class, was ignored by Toyota. After all, Toyota's focus was on the more lucrative and popular Group A (though the Gr. A Celica didn't actually win a championship until the 90's, IIRC).

So it wasn't exactly an awesome rally car, being pretty unheard of in the WRC.

That's all fear2.gif

i got a very nice deal indeed cool.gif in "normal" stock condition (in the same condition i got mine in about) they go for 3000, i at least got basic preformance parts (steel lines, strengthed this and that) a suspension (trd sprigns/shocks) and a redtop engine for 600 bucks less. My paint may not be as nice as the one for 3000, but with the money i saved on parts time and work- i dont give a damn, i can get my car painted black again for the 600 i saved...and bondo to fix what damage there is is like 5 bucks.

You got a nice deal for a regualar buy in this day. for their performace the arent worth the blue book value. They are simply a fad, a couple of years ago they would never go for more then 1500 CDN, i checked autotrader alot back then and it was always like that. They arent worth the money, if u guys never saw/read/played Initial D then i doubt you guys would be getting 86s. Man.. i even hear Sr5s going for more then 2Gs now days.. ugh... the ultimate piece of shit, making barely 60 whp (if even that). People..
