Overtaking is the act of one vehicle passing another slower moving vehicle traveling in the same direction. There are plenty of overtaking moments in Initial D. What make these moments exciting is how they pass the other car and the techniques behind it.

Overtaking on a narrow mountain pass is extremely dangerous. Which is why we love to watch it. But that's only part of the reason. The main reason why we really love watching overtaking in Initial D is because there's a certain gratification one gets seeing a much older car passing a more powerful and modern car. It makes your heart beat faster.

For the sake of consistency, let's only count the overtaking moments that belong to a battle/race and if the overtake happen right before the match ends, it doesn't count. With that said, here's the list of all overtakes happened in Initial D:
