| Rules have been lifted. UPDATE AUGUST 6, 2012: RULES BELOW ARE BACK. PLEASE READ AND RESPECT THEM. They were re-enabled to filter the tracfic that Initial D 5th Stage announcement will bring Read the Rules or You Get Nothing For those of you who have noticed, I have a rather large collection of music from Initial D and Eurobeat. Being the nice guy that I am, I would like to share the music with others. All I ask in return is a good "Thank You". Please take note of the following rules before requesting and/or providing requests. Who can request? • To be eligible to request, you must be a forum member with a minimum post count of 100 posts (your 100th post cannot be the requesting post). Your post count should also avoid spam posts; if a member clearly has a certain number of spam posts then that number will be added to their post count requirement before they can request (e.g. 10 spam posts = minimum post count of 110 to be eligible to request) • Alternatively, you may be eligible to request if you have been a member of the forum for at least 6 months What can be requested and how? • Please limit all requests to all Initial D music and Eurobeat in general. If you are unsure as to whether a particular song is categorised as Eurobeat, please search for it here: http://www.eurobeat-prime.com/. If the song is listed there then it may be requested. • You may also check this thread https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=42189. It contains most songs from the anime and games. Be sure to check the thread out before requesting : it avoids uploading doubles. • Album requests are heading this way : https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=13304 • A maximum of 3 songs may be requested at any single time • Please do not push your requests, allow 2-3 days after the initial request before re-requesting the song(s) again • After receiving requested music, please allow at least 2 days before requesting more music. However this only applies to the 3 song limit so if you ask for 2 songs on the first day you will still be allowed to request a third between the first day and your next request cycle. • To request, please provide the song title, artist and (if possible) the album from which the song comes from. • Say "Thank you" as a sign of gratitude. • Please ensure that the song you are requesting is released, any requests for unreleased music may simply be ignored. • To share music, please upload using http://www.sendspace.com or any file hosting services. Other exemples in spoiler below.
• Anyone is welcome to share music, but please ensure that the requesting member is eligible to request before you upload music (as you may receive a warning for wrongfully providing requests). | Big thanks go out to Smiley_DC2 for strictly enforcing these rules. The Music section is very orderly in my eyes. And of course, thanks to the people that fulfill others' requests so that Smiley's work load can be lessen. The last https://idforums.net/index.php?showtopic=8938 was also a first in IDW history, to reach the 10,000 replies mark. I never thought I would see that happen. I am truly impressed. Thank you all for making these possible and thank you all for your contributions. |

| Not like its the first time it's happened. Only way to avoid it would be eliminating the 6 month condition and leaving only the 100 posts, but even then people can just go around the forum throwing comments that aren't exactly spam, but not really meaningful/thoughtful either. Some people just don't talk much, including myself. I'm sure like 80-90% of my posts are just between the album and song request threads. If anything, I'd say maybe make it so that until they meet the requirements, they don't see or have access to certain sections/threads at all. This would at least make it so people can't just join and leech everything right away. |

| maybe a better way to discourage those who are "unworthy yet" to request music is to block off this thread (and maybe other threads of the same kind as well)... and if they are qualified already to request, then i guess a random PM to them by any of the moderating staff (including the admins) containing the subforum password will be more appropriate... so as to minimize such incidents from taking place again... |

I'm irked by it but at then same time try not to let it get to me. The rules for requesting here are quite tight enough and our enforcement is quite strict. Apart from the few lurkers who finally reach the pinnacle of 6-month membership and get the green light to request, I don't think there is much more we can do without making it seem almost impossible to request. I don't want it to get to that point and I don't want IDWF to seem like an unfriendly place. I say let's keep with the current scheme of things, as things don't reallt get out of hand these days. And for those lurkers who just request and receive, well I'm all about music sharing anyways so if they follow the general rules (i.e. 3 song limit, and 3-day waiting period between requests) then it's all good with me. |

Wow. All of this, and only one post. 1. I joined a while ago when I first started watching ID, but I could always read threads or search if I had any questions about the show. 2. I like the show, but I never found the need to post anthing about it, or discuss episodes or anything like that. 3. After I finished the first three stages of ID, I stopped watching it for a while, until a friend of mine gave me the fourth stage episodes, and after I watched the race with the AP1 and Takumi, I wanted the song. 4. Don't sweat it man. The idea is that here on the forums we've tried to cultivate a community of sharing, and of course in return some participation on the boards or contribution for sharing music and fulfilling requests. Which is pretty much how those rules for requesting came about: the mentality that if you could contribute something then you would get something in return, or alternatively if you are unable to contribute but still want to request you'll just have a wait it out a bit. You're not breaking any rules anyway so please don't feel bad or take much offence. Happy requesting in future. Back on topic kiddies! |
