That sounds delicious. What kind of food is that?

It's a kind of spicy meatball.

You got it.

Thank you very much, it's way to ask that question in Canada or USA and sound perfectly normal. There is one thing I'm trying to understand and that is accepting food on the first offer they give you. You're supposed to decline it but it will be offered later on anyway for younto accept it on the 2nd offer. Is this much like the vendors in certain countrues expecting you to negotiate down a price on some item even if the initial offer is still a good deal?

This I can't help you with, I'm afraid. That sounds like an experience sort of thing, and as I don't live there and haven't been I can't say I've actually experienced this particular situation.

I can offer up a theory about that. So first time they offer you, you decline to be polite, in a way saying, that you don't want to bother them. If they offer again, then you accept (even if you don't want to), again to be polite, this time, because of their insistence.

That's one area of Japanese culture that I don't particularly care for, but I think if you study their behavior, it prioritizes politeness above just about anything else. I prioritize practicality, and this sort of wishy washiness is just a waste of time and effort from my perspective.

thank you N1 and Umu, i figured it was some sort of cultural quirk that you must politely decline the first offer for food/drink if its not actually brought to you. i personally find that a bit weird as id also cut to the action but this isnt Canada in Japan.

as they say in Rome: if they refuse the first time, just throw them to the lions and all will be taken care of.

EDIT: im not sure if i got the cultural reference completely correct but its will suffice laugh2.gif

The highest tier my ISP offers is 300 down and 100 up ~

In bigger cities with fiber infrastructure it goes up to 1 Gb/s up & down ~

I want that awesome symmetrical 10 Gb/s because .. why not ? What is this 1999 derp.gif

That's fucking hilarious that the "super bowl" had such a high score of 13-3 to finish the series. Yeah, that's how much I pay attention to football to find out the final score.

I don't even remember what I was doing that night. Walking around shooting photography earlier that day, but in the evening? Probably crashed on the fucking couch waiting on my laundry.
