watched some akina ta vids here (because I was bored)

you guys need to stay in higher gears to lower your times. also try and drift more.

just some friendly advice.

I didn't think that advice was very friendly, I challenge you to a chess match.

Or drop by and join the SEAIDG (South East Asia Initial D Group).

Most of the faster players around in Asia are inside and we'll be glad to discuss with you guys more advanced ID techniques as well as share with you the latest TA videos....

You could add me on msn @ leejyun@hotmail.com

thanks a lot man. yeah ive noticed if i stay in a higher gear and steer in early then downshift i really drift and my exit speed its increased a lot. but its just when in a (S) type turn going from left to right, i can take the right hand turn then when i end up turning left i get a huge understeer. hmm im getting the hang of it more and more though. thanks for the advice it helped.

Actually, the whole idea of ID6AA is to drift and not hit any walls.

By that, I mean 0 wall taps. Even the slightest one kills your boost.

As for downshifting, try remembering it this way....

Whenever you're drifting, downshift only once the speed reaches the next lower gear's speed before you downshift so that you will maximize your cornering speed.

Also, while drifting, try to do the BC motion really quickly and give the steering a quick jerk rather than turn smoothly like you do in ID5.

Yea hes on balance, I made the same mistake of trying the drift setting on my MX5 and I failed horribly. For the most part on FRs you want balance as your setting, the only course I know where setting matters is snow where you choose the mild (yellow) setting.

That "20km to next setting" means that you have 20km till you can change the setting on that car again.

Was going to call him out on it if someone else didn't already confirm, considering previously he claimed various things without any basis (Crying wolf?).

Well, saved some gas by not going to MGL to double check personally. Thanks
