well, i just got my block back from the machine shop for my black car. i blew the old motor when i had a boost controller malfunction and i hit some where around 40 pounds of boost on a stock fuel system. (my 20 pound guaged went to -20) well here are some pics of my block. let see if anyone can spot what was done.

whats getting shoved into the piece of artwork?
some forged weisco pistions
race preped rodds that have been bushed for floaters and have arp hardware
stock forged crank that has been worked over

oh yeah that block was also machined with a torque plate. so when the head is on the block and torqued down the bore will be prefectly true.

I was thinking of that too, but it couldn't be that simple , could it?

There are grooves visible on the surface, but maybe those were machined in?

When I looked at the close ups I noticed that there is a bead of metal going around the cylinder. It looks like it would help seal things tight, like something to help the head gasket. Maybe its supposed to crush together with the gasket.

Tacked the water jackets closed? I'm kinda guessing that you bulletproofed or partially bulletproof the engine, to guard against future boost problems.

when the car is all said and done i want around 500 rwhp. the car is just gonna be my all around car. ill probably drag race it a few times. and maybe turn it into a drift car, but as of right now i dont know.

lol, it already does that in stock forum, more like roasting the tires at freeways speed. (was able to do it on the old motor)

ive never seen a starion ever in my city, was it available here in the U.S.?

Isnt there a chrysler model of the starion?
