It'll probably be higher since the cards are more durable

i doubt the idea of the supra....it just seems out of place to put a new toyota that hasnt appeared in the manga or anime yet...

im just hoping that my arcade will actually buy that machine....i ahve a arcade in long island thats still on version 2...

The test play of ver4 started yesterday in Japan.

The impression that I played

It feels odd because it becomes a quite different game characteristic.

Looks like there has been a big change in the physics..

the only reason they had inspections every 50 plays was cuz of the durability of the cards... like xkhol said now that their more durable they're probally gunna last longer and take lest inspections

hmm, well the knee-jerk reaction might be negative, with the game physics being overhauled instead of just tweaked. but i think it may be good. i like the idea of a "fresh start", requiring everyone to start a completely new card, and learn a whole new game. puts everyone on an equal playing field to start. but also, the way i feel, a racing game is a racing game. you got your wheel, shifter, brake, and go pedal. the basics will always be the same. ID, wangan, outrun2, daytona, whatever... it's all good. cool.gif

Hopefully they got rid of eraser/tst.

New Physics are a good thing since everyone has to relearn how to play and maybe new pros might be born.

Is it just me or on that card would the bottom 10 boxes most likely be for bunta challenge? If it is, that means.. 2 new tracks!! smile.gif Because Ver.3 Bunta Challenge only had 8 tracks.

HZ posted this over at initial-d.com/forums

QUOTE (HZ@initial-d.com/forums)
what i have gathered from translations of reports from Japanese players:

1) they dont called this Ver 4, official name is now Initial D Arcade Stage 4 (hereafter refered to as AS4 in this post)

2) Ver 1, 2, and 3 card data WILL NOT be transferable to AS4!

3) cards format have changed, no more magnetic cards but plastic cards (ala ghost squad)...

4) new machine cabinets, more speakers, card insertion unit on the left hand side, LCD display, better resolution... however no clutch pedal...

5) sequential shifter? what the hell does that means? no more up / down for shifting?

6) Bunta-mobile can have colour change to blue...

7) in Legends mode the characters now move and talk (like Special Stage)...

8) online racing is now included! Japanese players are able to race against other players nationwide just like Virtua Striker 4 for eg... which means in the future we are able to race against opponents from other countries! (anyone fancy a race against CKF? ) catch is arcade operators must hook up to the online network for international battles to work...

i am drooling for AS4!!!

Found this link at racegame. There's some pics of the machine. The links to the pics are towards the bottom of the page.

It also shows the bgm and opponents for each course, I think.

More updates from Inazuma

QUOTE (Inazuma R)
To Excel

I played version 4.

But, it is an experimental model and it is not a finished model yet.

A new car was not able to be confirmed because of an experimental model.

A new course confirmed Akina lake.

'Eraser' &'TST' is not effective in an experimental model at all.

I imagine Akina lake is the Myogi like course in the link that was posted. At first I thought they revamped Myogi, but now looking at the rivals there, it seems as if that would be Akina Lake to me. Maybe now they will add true Usui and Myogi??

You got a point.. that doesn't look like Myogi at all. There are too many curves and no way is myogi 9.0 kilometers long... maybe 6.0 or 7.0

Snow all around would be crazy. o___o Shomaru & Irohazaka Snow... ahahaha.
