Doesn't make sense to me either, but in any case they injected Don't Stop The Music with the life and the energy it needed and now, I can see an entirely new future for Eurobeat now as we take the second step into the future. I think I might like the 170's, with all these winning tracks on it.

I'm ready to get wild again, like we did back in the era when DSTM was new.

...Yeah, I know I didn't talk about the other tracks much, but in my opinion DSTM 2006 is a hallmark in the history of Eurobeat, just as the original was.

QUOTE (Kikumaru @ Today at 2:58 AM)
So you can classify specific parts of the song to be "horrible", but claim the rest of the song to be "pretty good" ? I don't understand this logic. I thought the song was either good or bad..but if that's how you think, then I can respect that.

Hmmm..well...in any case, sorry for the trouble wink2.gif

It's not all that hard to understand. He enjoyed the song, liked it even, but there were same parts to it he didn't like.

Some times things aren't all black and white, there are shades of gray everywhere.

Not to sound as if I'm posting spam here, but...a song is kind of like..one of those things you either like or you don't >_>. I mean..think about it..if there's a particular part in the song you think is "horrible" or you just don't like, but you like the rest, would you just skip over the part you didn't like, every time you wanted to listen to the song?

Probably not, because it would become a pain sleep.gif. If there's something that bothers you about the song..then I'd just assume avoid it altogether. It's kind of hard to say you like a song, but claim to dislike parts WITHIN the song which..well..create the song x_x. Because with music, that part that you despise so much..will be there FOREVER...soooo..yeah. There's no getting around it, unless you want to just skip past it every time you listen to the song or just listen to the part you dislike so much and cringe in disgust everytime you hear it.

Anyways, whether I see things in black and white is a totally different story, but as for this..he has his taste, I have mine. You have yours, others have theirs. This is obvious. Now understanding someone else's ways of thinking is an entirely different matter. It's okay if I don't understand him (or you now, lol). I don't really think it's a problem >_>;.

Sorry for the spam-ish post everyone wink2.gif

Now I'm going to sound like the devil's advocate, but I really didn't like Don't Stop The Music. I'm not trying to burn the song or anything here, but, it, in the end, is just another bleh song from Time. And I'd hate to say it, but I don't see this remastered track, the future of eurobeat music.

WOW!! Thanks for the upload Kikumaru!! Most of the songs actually sound real good. I think this album surpasses SEB 171 by a long shot. More big names featured with songs that really sound good! My favorites: the Pamsy, Manuel, Fastway, and Dave & Meri tracks. I particularly liked the Dave & Meri duet, very loving. As for Don't Stop the Music 2006, I like it. Some may, some may not, but I like this one just as much as the orginal.

Overall, damn good album!! Hope SEB 173 is just as promising... happy.gif

Same thing could be said for any of the ¨updated¨ Eurobeat songs, i.e. Night of Fire 2004, Wild Reputation 2005, etc.

no i know. but the person i was quoting was basically saying "omg the remake is so awesome except for the intsrumental part [which is the only thing different]" so in essence, he DOESNT like the remix at all, since the only stuff he likes is the original music.

Ugh... Let's just leave at it as he likes and hates it... people can both do that... You know like hating Mitsubishi but liking the Lancer Evolution, for example.

Can't stop listening to the new Pamsy song. Best one on the album.

Most definately, the best by far. I don't see the hype about the Don't Stop the Music 06, it wasn't that great. :\ As Lebon pointed out, the synth sounded too chaotic and not focused enough like the original. Original is better in almost all aspects. I think Wild Reputation was the best remake, although all the songs they remake I don't like much to begin with anyway...

Hey! Stop flamming me because I don't like this instrumental part of DSTM 2k6. That's simply not my style. If you want to know what is my style, check Dana I'm OK and Go 2 - Power.

That makes little to no sense, because it was actually close to the original, but re-imagined in today's version of eurobeat synths. It's different, but the basics are there.

Of course, if one or two people choose to complain about the track, it's not my problem. wink2.gif Take it up with Lou Grant.

No comment on the differences in Don't Stop the Music 2006 whistling.gif I rather stay out of it although I don't find the song BAD; it was enjoyable though. This album was pretty good despite the absence of the usual big names like Go 2. Actually, it was a nice surprise for me because I thought this album wouldn't have anything worthwhile beyond Don't Stop the Music 2006. However, I'm really enjoying Pamsy's "Once Upon a Time" and Stephy Martini's "Mad Desire." Those two songs have found a place in my playlist cool.gif

And I'm with lebon on this one, the remake is plain awful :P And exactly due to the hideous synth. Also due to lacking about every kind of punch the original had. Well at least vocals haven't been changed, meh...
Otherwise a very very mediocore album at best. Not much stuff which would last a while.

Let us not forget that you brushed aside Space Boy as being a plain, unimportant track when you first reviewed the SEB volume it was on, that would have been better done by another artist.

That certainly went well, didn't it? Now it's on every tenth SEB volume. happy.gif

3.Dave Rodgers - Space Boy (A-Beat C)
What would a Super Eurobeat album be without one Dave Rodgers song to spoil it up? Fortunately this time he displays a rather good song. Space Boy is your typical Rodgers production so don't expect anything new or exciting. A good melody backed up with decent lyrics. Would've been better if it was sung by ie. Domino.

Mind your tongue, Bore! grin2.gif

I stand behind my words, I never have liked Space Boy nor I will. The thing is that you can pick up a bunch of other Dave songs from the '80s-90s era that are way more original and well done than Space Boy. What made SB popular was the fact that it appeared on ID + on ParaPara Paradise. And besides if I gave the track a 7+ grade it doesn't mean the song IS bad, that means I don't like it.

And Space Boy is just a mere song among the dozen other tracks that are on nearly all big compilations and they so shouldn't.

Where as about Don't Stop The Music... Really listen to the original and 2006 version right after, the same striking force is no where to be found. The track sounds like an every day time faire with the same halfdead synth and thin backgrounds.

I like Space Boy, I only hate the fact that Dave Rodgers keeps stuffing it up when he sings it live! pinch2.gif

Besides that, I really love the Pamsy and Lisa/Ace songs on this album!!! grin2.gif

After listening to this album about 15 times over and over, hands down I have to say that Countdown to Destination is the #1 song on the disc. Score another one for Manuel...

That opening synth always gets me. Reminds me of Wangan Midnight tunes. wink2.gif

Don't forget Pamsy. Can't wait for 173. Too bad November is always the pause month.
