Pamsy is awesome. Not one of her best, but very good. I will give a full review soon. Good album so far. Right now on Jungle Bill.

I'll just upload Don't Stop The Music 2006. Reason: I can't use yousendit, and it takes me ages to upload things individually. So, I'll let someone else do that if they want.

A big thanks Paranoid!!! Here is my review :

01. Pamsy - Once Upon A Time

Review : When I saw that, I said to myself that it could be interesting coz Pamsy was always in my kind of EB music. When I first listened to the clip, I was astonished. And I'm still! The intro is pretty good and the synth too. The vocals has always, beautiful!. This is a masterpiece.

Score : 10

02. Fastway - Go! Racin'! Go!

A Fastway song... what should I ask for more? As always, Fastway has his lots of energy to resell. The chorus is always that exciting but not at his best. The "Go! Racin'! Go" should have been sung instead of back-vocals... Anyway, the song is a good song to hear if you are a Fastway fan. I like it and makes a little change from Shock Out.

Score : 8½

03. Stephy Martini - Mad Desire

Stephy... Her first song "Emotion" was a poppy/Eurobeat song. This time, she went for a full eurobeat song with an amazing intro. The synth are really good and wants us to dance. As always, the vocals are pretty pretty good. They makes us dream. The chorus is really entertaining. In overall, it's a very good song; a masterpiece too!

Score : 10

04. Alexis - One Night In Tokyo

I always disliked Alexis' songs. This one is does apply to the rule but... the only thing I like in this one are the vocals. The synth are not pretty good. Overall, there is something missing like in the SEB 80-110 decades. Yeah... she's an oldskool SEB artist

Score : 6

05. Vivi - Gimme Gimme Gimme

For those who thought that was an ABBA cover, it's not and it's a pretty boring song to me... But it has some interest in the vocal parts like the couplets and that's all. Really, this one is pathetic.

Score : 5

06. Lou Grant - Don't Stop The Music 2006

OK. This was THE song that we waited for on this SEB album. After a full listening at once, the intro was exploding and really entertaining, the couplets and choruses... but.. but... the instrumental parts are HORRIBLE!! Disgusting XD. Honnestly, yes, they are bad. The song finishes with a... fade-out. Anyway, that's minor. The only thing that is deceiving on this song is those synth in the instrumental part.

Score : 7¾

07. Dave & Meri - I Wanna Give You My Heart

I like this song. It shows love a lot, as always dry.gif... The feeling is pretty good and the duo is pretty too. It feels like we were there, in a cinema, watching a love movie (not porn lol). Everything in this song has very good elements. I was astonished by the intermission... really beautiful. Honnestly, I never thought that this song would that good!

Score : 9

08. Jungle Bill - Baby Call Me Frankenstein

Wow... I thought that it will be a title like Tornado's. But no, this one is pretty good and I was really surprised. The song has everything to be an awesome Eurobeat song : fast synth, energic chorus, good vocals and good intro. One thing : weird intermission...

Score : 9

09. Manuel - Countdown To Destination

Another big attempt title. Well, this song is energic, possess a good intro, good synth, good vocals, good chorus and really good karaoke intermission! I was really enjoying this Manuel song coz I was really bored of Big Boy and Let's Go! Come On!, those were getting repetitive. A must listen.

Score : 10

10. Nando - Dark And Bright

I really don't know what to think first I see an unknown name like this one. For me, it's always mean a bad song. But now I heard the song, I said 'OK...'. The intro is strange. It is moving from style to style... The synth are OK and vocals too... that's not a bad song nor a very good one. It is just a song you'll enjoy while making other stuff. In fact, I like it. (Thanks to Paranoid to make me know about Nando : Nando=Mako. But, still, I don't know much about him).

Score : 7¾

11. Paul Harris - Every Night

Paul Harris? I waited for some bad stuff here at first and, finally, I think that's a so-so song. It is missing some speed. The chorus is sounding like a pop song in the vocal style... This song, like I said, is so-so. No more.

Score : 6½

12. Ray Sun - Black Devil

Another unknown name to me. You all know now what do I think of unknow name. But, we can't judge without having listening once. Wow, here we have a little masterpiece hiding behind a mask. The overall is really good. I don't know what to think about it xD. Really! This song is pretty good and I never thought of that.

Score : 9

13. Queen 26 - Keep On Loving You

Well, another Queen 26 song. That's two song in two albums. I don't know if she will do like Go 2 in production of song but... Anyway, the last song was OK and now, "Keep On Loving You" is still an OK song but the synth are missing something. I cannot really say why. But the song in itself is pretty OK. A good listening there.

Score : 7½

14. Kasanova - Love Shining

Kasanova made few OK song in the past like in 161. But now, is it still OK? Well, for me, yes, it is still OK. He keeps the same style has before. The male vocals are good and deep. But, it's a so-so song in general. For me, it doesn't have a lot of attraction but it's still OK.

Score : 6½

15. Barbie - Para Para Girl

Barbie?!? I first thought that this song would sound like Baby Bazooka whose are really really bad songs. But... no! It's a really good song in a manner of a pretty Go 2 song! Really entertaining! Pretty addictive! Those adjective describe well the song. Don't underestimate this song once or you'll regret it!

Score : 8½

16. Martina Dry - Keep A Boom

Hmm... what should I think of this song? Well, it's a pretty good one. The vocals sounds like Cherry or those girls out there but it's a pretty pretty good. Can't say much more!!

Score : 9

17. Lisa & Ace - Getting The Fever

This song is a little disapointing after a good intro and synth time. But, the song hides a really good interrest. I was pretty astonished the way the synth are played. But the couplets are so-so... but the rest is really good

Score : 7¾

18. Annalise - Promised Land

Having a guitar based intro, this Annalise song is sounding slow at first. When, the synths are poping from nowhere, my idea about this song is now clear : bad as always. I always thought that Annalise's songs are bad and this one respects the rule. A bad song, the real bad one of the album.

Score : 4

Final Thoughts : SEB 172 is a really really really good album. I never heard a such album before! This is really worth buying and I suggest it for all of you SEB fans. Titles like "Countdown to destination" and "Once Upon A Time" on this album makes it a transform this one into a jewel-mine. Those are my final thoughts. Go buy it, I say it! There is no more persons more demanding in quality of music than me. wink2.gif

Final Score : 8½ w00t2.gif

The Best 3 songs :

Pamsy - Once Upon A Time
Stephy Martini - Mad Desire
Manuel - Countdown To Destination

The Honorable Titles :

Fastway - Go! Racin'! Go!
Ray Sun - Black Devil
Barbie - Para Para Girl
Jungle Bill - Call Me Frankenstein

The Worst 3 songs :

Annalise - Promised Land
Vivi - Gimme Gimme Gimme
Alexis - One Night In Tokyo

Okay, let me say this first: This album is awesome. Is not a 140s awesome but not far from it considering the number of titles I really enjoyed.
First the obvious: Pamsy. Not one of her best, but still great. Then Don't stop The Music, one of the best SEB songs ever in a very good remix.
Top titles: Stephy Martini, very nice song. Manuel, I heard better song from the artist but he delivers a very good title once more.
Still above average: The Frankenstein song. It's catchy. And the new Fastway.

Undecided (I think I need to hear them more often): Kasanova, Martina Dry and the ace Duet.
The rest: I delete.

Surprised you didn't think that DSTM 2006 wasn't a 9 or 10, Lebon14, I thought it was the one of best tracks on the album.

Same thing could be said for any of the ¨updated¨ Eurobeat songs, i.e. Night of Fire 2004, Wild Reputation 2005, etc.

By the way, I'd like to say that upon listening to DSTM 2006, I feel so nostalgic that it's like I just saw the battle between the FD3S and the AE86 once again.

*sigh*

Well, I finally listened to the whole album, so..here are my thoughts on it!

Super Eurobeat Presents Volume 172 Review!

This is probably one of the few, I can actually say, "Wow...ya know..it's hard to find a bad song on this album". Despite how much I actually like Eurobeat..for the past few albums, there has always been at LEAST one or two songs that I just, "Ewww...yeah..that's just wrong x_x". This album is just really awesome. I am very pleased with it.

Now, I understand how people have their own tastes, but come now Lebon14..you rated the Paul Harris song, plus the Kasanova song "so-so", but you thought the 2006 version of "Don't Stop the Music" was "horrible", yet..it got a better grade than the "so-so" songs? *blinks* Ummm..well..if horrible is better than so-so...have fun >_>;

Sorry, I don't mean offense towards your review, but it just confused me, that's all x_x.

Anyways, here is my rating (somewhat) on the songs in this album with 1 being my favorite to 18 being, not necessarily bad (since I didn't find any bad songs on this album), but a song that I don't like as much as the others

1. Kasanova - Love Shining
2. Dave & Meri - I wanna give you my heart
3. Pamsy - Once upon a Time
4. Paul Harris - Every Night
5. Stephy Martini - Mad Desire
6. Annalise - Promised Land
7. Nando - Dark and Bright
8. Fastway - Go Racin' Go!
9. Lisa & Ace - Getting the Fever
10. Lou Grant - Don't Stop the Music 2006
11. Ray Sun - Black Devil
12. Alexis - One Night in Tokyo
13. Queen 26 - Keep on Loving You
14. Manuel - Countdown to Destination
15. Jungle Bill - Baby call me Frankenstein
16. Martina Dry - Get a Boom
17. Vivi - Gimme Gimme Gimme
18. Barbie - Para Para Girl

Anyways, all-in-all, I was very pleased to hear the Kasanova song was just as good as I was hoping it to be..and it was nice to see another Kasanova song, since I haven't seen one in a while :3. Also, I don't know who Meri is in the duet with Dave, but that song turned out to be rather good. I was surprised. Paul almost took third, but honestly..Pamsy's song was just really good; it has a nice beat to it and the vocals are just as good as they always are, so..she took third, Paul following after with a rather good song happy.gif.

Other than that, this album was DEFINITELY worth listening to and I will continue to enjoy listening to this one laugh.gif!

So you can classify specific parts of the song to be "horrible", but claim the rest of the song to be "pretty good" ? I don't understand this logic. I thought the song was either good or bad..but if that's how you think, then I can respect that.

Hmmm..well...in any case, sorry for the trouble wink2.gif

Meri was featured on SEB147, and she did another duet with Dave on SEB152.

And I still prefer the original Don't Stop The Music, I didn't find anything special about the remake. Tastes differ a lot it seems.
