Not to be a dick, but Keisukes RX-7 is a Zenki RX-7(a '92 model). So your tail lights are wrong, they would be the old style tails and not the present RX-7 tails('98 model).. You can see the correct tails on a previous page here, the Keisuke RX-7 with the Mazdaspeed front kit. Personally my favorite kit for the FD, but the RE-Amemiya kit you made is perfect and definitely second to that! If you wanna really try to make a hard model may i recommend you the Veilside R1 Street Drag (r32), Abflug s900 (supra) or the Scoot RX-7, they are really beautiful machinery. | ||

I made a small comment about it and many other problems with this Fujimi model. If I decided to make a correct version of the latest leavery of Keisukes RX-7 I would probably have to mix parts from 2 or 3 different kits (and probably still made some parts myself). I thought about it, but I don't do this for a living, so you can imagine that my time dedicated to the hobby is a bit limited and although I would love to have a perfect representation of Keisuke's FD3S, I have many other modelling projects to make (presently I'm working on more than 20 models, ranging from fantasy scale figures, to sci-fi, including also cars (obviouly), airplanes, AFV and historic figurines). I've recently completed an AFV model that took me almost 4 years to complete, and although it was research to the best of my abilities, it still has some areas where I simply had to make a "calculated guess". Regarding the Veilside R1 Street Drag (r32), I bought a model (not the fujimi 1:12 scale model, as I only build cars in 1:24 or 1:25 scale) some 5 years ago to build it, where I would have to make the body kit myself, along with all the engine modifications, but already gave up that idea and my current plan is to build a R342! I've seen one making a drift demonstration in my home town a few years ago and fell in love with it's looks (but haven't started it yet, nor will it be started in a near future). Cheers Marco Preto |

My last post here was a bit defendive, but I just wanted to say that I was aware of the shorcomings of that particular model. I did studied the manga drawings and addressed the problems that I could easilly solve. I could have sorced out a Zenki model kit to sacrifice for the rear lights and the underside chassis (and I would have to search for an acurate one), but I'm sure that I would find a great number of fiting problems when joining everything together. So I made a compromise, allowing me to complete the model in a resonable timeframe. Just to put things in perpective, remember how long ago I've started the AE86? Well, it's not completed yet! And that model will also include inacuracies and other areas oversimplified. Thanks for the suport. Cheers Marco Preto This post has been edited by marcopreto on Nov 30 2010, 02:00 AM |
