This thread will cover most of the things you will need to know for IDAS8 if you've played IDAS7. All info written here apply to the Japanese release of the game, and EXP versions of the game.

Key New Features


New Tuning System (Version 1.2 +D Rev.6 update)
Added the next SPEC for tuning called "EX FULL SPEC", Previous FULL-SPEC is equivalent to "EX SPEC", and now tuning looks like:
Normal(no upgrade) > Spec-1 > Spec 2 > Spec 3 > Spec 4 > Spec 5 > Ex Spec > Ex Full Spec (end)
In order to go from Ex Spec to Ex Full Spec, it costs 121,500 points for members and 135,000 for non-members. This means the price to full-tune a car had gone up to 170,010 points for members and 188,900 points from non-members compared to previous 48,510 points for members and 53900 for non-members.


GUI
The Game GUI have been updated with the following:
  • Changeable Tachometers
  • Changeable Paper Cups (does not replace map)
  • Turn Sign Assists
  • Titles (Comparable to titles in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune series of games)


D Coin
"D Coin" is an in-game premium currency that is bought with arcade credits.It will be saved in your "Initial D Driver license". It have many applications, such as tuning vehicles when you don't have enough points.

"D coin" cannot be purchased, or used, on arcades that are not connected to online services.


Initial D Factory
"Initial D Factory" is an entirely free feature. Arcade credits is not required to enter it.

In order to enter the "Initial D Factory", you just have to press the "View change" button in the demo screen, select "Factory", then insert your "Initial D Driver license".

In the "Initial D Factory", you will have access to the following options:
  • Garage
    Choose your current car/buy a car
    Add/Change Aero parts, Supply parts
    Tune your car
  • Spin Parts (D Coin required)
    Character Parts
    Character Frames (Backgrounds)
    Titles
  • Purchase D Coins
  • Check Play Data
  • Subscribe to DNET Membership
  • Settings

New Garage System
New system allows cards with already 3 cars to buy a new car by deleting your old car. Old car's SPECs will be remembered. Aero Parts will not be saved however.
For example: You delete a SPEC 3 Trueno AE86 Hatch for a Trueno AE86 Coupe. After that you buy your Trueno AE86 Hatch back, it will remain SPEC 3


Initial D License Card
Here are new features exclusive to card holders.
  • Free Continue ticket
    Every day you play, you will earn 1 "Free Continue ticket". You can use it to continue to play for free.
  • Card Transfer from IDAS7AAX
    • Only machines connected to the internet can peform a card transfer
    • Cars and their colors will be saved
    • Car will be reset to NORMAL (SPEC-0), and Aero parts will be removed
    • Auras, Ranks, character gender and everything else will all be reset
    • You will get 12 D Coins for card transfer



INITIAL D .NET Online Service http://game.initiald.sega.com , http://sega-initiald.net
It is an online service that have the following features:
  • View your Profile
  • Check Legend of the Streets progress
  • Look at number of wins on courses in Online Battle
  • View your best Time Attack records
  • Event Participation Results
  • Tag Battle records and details

  • Check your Garage, and cars you've already bought before

DNET also runs a paid subscription service that needs to be renewed every 30 days.
DNET members enjoy these extra features
  • Add "Battle Comments"
  • Check Online Battle History
  • Change Name (one time only, only double-byte characters (including kanji, chinese) supported
  • Create and join racer teams
  • Store and change character parts
  • Add battle appeals
  • Store and change countdown voice
  • Store and change Titles
  • Store and change Paper Cup Style
  • Store and change Tachometers
  • Store and change car exterior parts including event stickers
  • Change Initial D Factory background style

New Cars
The newly added cars are:
  • TOYOTA CELICA GT-FOUR [ST205]
  • NISSAN SKYLINE 25GT TURBO [ER34]
  • SUBARU BRZ S [ZC6]
  • MITSUBISHI LANCER RS EVOLUTION V [CP9A]
  • MITSUBISHI LANCER GSR EVOLUTION VI [CP9A]

Currently, all these cars are UNLOCKED VIA UPDATE. You will have to update your offline machine to unlock them.

The upgraded car is:
NISSAN GT-R NISMO [R35]
Previous owners of the NISSAN GTR [R35] will automatically upgrade to the NISMO version


New Courses
  • Hakone, Toyo Tyres Turnpike(箱根, マツダ ターンパイク)
  • Momiji Line, Nichien (もみじライン, 日塩)
    *Snow courses had been removed, except Akina Snow (秋名雪)

Updated Physics
Physics had been updated, and is brand new.


New BGM

Updated Game Modes
Now, playing Legend of the Streets, Online Battle and In-store Battle, will all fill "Mychara Gauge", once completely filled, will give a chance to spin for a character part.


Legend of the Streets
The races had been grouped according to racing teams of Initial D. You start of as a new member of the team.
Each race have its own requirement, from simple things like "win by 100m advantage" to more advanced things like "Simulation 3: pass your opponent at the final section", and even ridiculous stuff like "Make Iketani faint."
Each time you complete a race, you will be ranked from 二流，一流，超一流 (2nd tier, 1st tier, top tier) based on your performance.
When you complete a whole team's TeamSide battles with 一流(1st tier) or better, the team's RivalSide battle is unlocked.
RivalSide involves you playing as a character from INITIAL D, and you are required to change the outcome of events that take place in the Initial D Universe.
When you complete all RivalSide battles, InfinitySide is unlocked.
InfinitySide will be reset every monday.When you complete all battles with 一流(1st tier) or better, Bunta's Challenge will be unlocked.
Getting 20 Infiniti rank would unlock wings aura(basic wings, dissappear after a while). 100 rank will unlock permanent wing. 250 and later, wings will have more feather, and amount of feather grows gradually by amount of rank.
NEW FEATURE(1.2 Update)"Barricade": Prevent your opponent in Online Battle from choosing up to 3 courses that you don't with to play (D Coin required)


Time Attack
NEW FEATURE(1.2 Update)"Ghost": Load your fastest time's ghost data in Time Attack (D Coin required)


Online Battle
Your opponent is now solely decided by your Racer Class. E3 will only be against E3 +- a rank or two.
Instead of having 2 bars, one orange and one blue, you only have ONE unified Racer Class Gauge. This gauge is only filled by Online Battle, which means only online battle can change your Racer Class (Rank). This also means offline cards will have a max Racer Class of E3.
When Racer Class Gauge is filled to the brim, "Up-rank battle" will occur on your next online battle. losing an "Up-rank battle" will cause your Racer Class Gauge to fall back.
When Racer Class Gauge is empty, "De-rank battle" will occur on your next online battle. losing an "De-rank battle" will cause your Racer Class de-rank.
D Coin can be used to re-try an "Up-rank battle" or a "De-rank battle".
There is a special up-rank method, that can be done at all low ranks, even E3. If you are consistently winning matches by a large distance ahead of your opponent (typically above 100m) and have a very good win/lose ratio, you are likely to be specially rank up and skip directly to A3 after winning a match. This process is to help experienced players level up faster and dis-encourage good players to smurf in the lower ranks. If you want to prevent this rank-up, you can try keeping the distance between you and your opponent in ~50m before winning. This will eliminate your chance of getting a special up-rank.

As already mentioned, finishing with a high distance while already having a good win/loss ratio will increase the chances of you jumping to A3, if that's what you're going for.
Same as IDAS7AAX, your basic yellow aura will first appear on Racer Class A3.


Online Tag Battle
Online tag battle levels will unlock different aura visual styles, except wings, which is unlocked in story mode.


Operation Kanto Tag Battle
Tag Story Mode had been updated, with new characters such as Seven Star Leaf members and Evo 5 and Evo 6 dudes.

I read "Free Play".

How is that supposed to work in a Timezone?

Also, do our old cars carry over?

It is not certain if the "free play" will be carried over to EXP machines like the ones in Timezone or Timezone Active. But even if it does, it is gonna work. Because you can continue to play for winning online battles anyway.

According to past experience, as long as your IDAS7 card is transferrable, your car will be imported to IDAS8. All the cosmetics will be saved, but your car might be tuned down. Cosmetics will be reset and your car is tuned down to SPEC 0

EDIT: updated info shows only your car colors are kept.

Wait a minute, removed snow courses (besides Akina Snow)!? I haven't played in years, but I never knew they had courses besides Akina which had a snow option.

It mainly was back in AS7, where there was Tsubuka and Nanamagari snow. So it was...eh, plus it they were update courses.

I don't know if there's a real RivalSide requirement for winning, it is simply win the race. Sure there are some 'mission' requirements, but that's simply stuff similar to the races before you can race RivalSide.

I know for the Fake Project D RivalSide (where you play as Itsuki and the AE85) I just raced and won. Plus i got the highest grade, think it was a distance battle or not hit the walls deal.

I've seen it whereby you race as Miki (ST205), against takumi. Once takumi passes you, you cannot get the high rank. So I think it might not be as simple. But if anybody can confirm this it will be better

IDAS8 is not available in my area, (well, i don't live in Japan) but from videos on youtube, I've yet to see a single wet TA. So we can safely assume no wet TA.

Well I have yet to unlock that battle as Miki yet, so I will take your word on it. FOr what I know though, here is what I have unlocked and what you need to do to 'win' for the RivalSides.

Night Kids: Can't go past the red steering.
Seven Speed Stars: Can't go past the red steering. (Personally this was much harder)
Todou Racing School: No special conditions.
Fake Project D: No special conditions.

Yet to unlock the others, but recently finances and school are making it hard for me to play recently.

@SonicSP Yeah, no wet TAs. Sucks, but whatevs.

I like the new hakone course... basically 超高速extreme speed course. you are doing 200+KM/H almost all the time. There are also jumps. What a surprise. It is almost like playing WMMT

The game is partially locked at the moment, not all new contents are available. I'm not liking how Sega is preventing us from playing content already in the machine. Cars, courses, and even story mode are locked until we see September update...not in a hurry to play the game until everything is out

Yeah I don't particularly like what the hell Sega is doing now. Basically all the new cars (BRZ, Evo V and VI, and ER34) are locked, Hakone and Momiji Line are locked from TA, Story stops at Fake Project D. Bleh.

You won't get it perm. It is like a subscription, once you stop playing your membership terminates. BTW this had been available in IDAS7 too, except not in our region. If you have a HKG, TWN, or JPN card you could still buy membership on the specific ID.NET region website. So far I've only seen 1 dude that have member in SGP on IDAS7.

$4 a month okey la, but I don't even know if it will still be this price when the EXP machines reach SG. Maybe they will not give us ID.NET like IDAS7AAX. -.-"

i know. D7 is pretty different from D8.

some of the members of their team in sgp has membership. not just one.

Only machines are connected online have the ability to transfer cards. I think Indonesia is among the countries to have online connectivity, so keep your hopes up.

^Eh I thought it's confirmed already?

But either way, you're arcade must support online even if your country has it. Because your arcade needs to pay Sega to be online, they would also have to agree to it also.

During D7 time, Indonesia did have online and was connected to the EXP server too, but the area was registered under "***" instead of "IDN". But I've just checked D8 Indonesia has a registered area code, so yes Indonesia is joining the EXP server too.

I *think* you can still do that, you just need to do the transfer while the machine is online. And of course as long as the machine and card types are the same.

D net coins are only needed if u havent enough points to purchase ur tune ups.

I have a bad feeling about that, its gonna be much harder to collect points with the microtransactions in the game.

Actually no, the points are much more lenient in IDAS8 then AS7.

You get 600 pts per won race, that is 150 more then the points in AS7. I think the points per parts are the same? I do not remember at the moment.

What I AM worried about is if the D coins provide some sort of boost to the cars. But in the US we can't get D coins so...meh.

Guys, Acoording to SEGA's email, Yesterday on 18 September 2014, IDAS8 Ver. 1.2 had been released. The game had been updated.

"Hakone" is finally unlocked.
You can now use "D Coin" to buy character frames.
*You can now use "D Coin" to disable the course you don't want to play in multiplayer. (Not confirmed, I can't read japanese well)

There are rumors that it's coming soon. Considering Singapore already got one, I assume it wouldn't be too long.

Find it very unlikely Malaysia wouldn't be able buy D.NET now, since Singapore also got it and many features are intergrated into it than ever.

Double bit characters are also known as "full width symbols", basically all chinese chracters japanese letters, kanji and korean words are all double bit. Single bit will be things like ABC.

SGP$5 is like MYR12.80. That's cheap in my opinion assuming the price is exactly the same here (I have a strange feeling it won't be).

It's just my pessimism talking. For all I know it's a lie, but I can't deny that possibility. Its highly unlikely but it's there...

And I'm not saying it's a large boost, it could a small one. Like car accelerates quarter of a second quicker or turn a bit more faster, that type of boost.

Dress up parts are the same amount of points, so that could be a relief to some.

Thing is, here in the Philippines; there is only one [empty] cabinet that caters to IDAS. The main problem? Still the same cab as that of IDAS4.

With the new features in, I'm quite tempted to return to IDAS. Though as far as I know, IDAS8 infinity, I didn't see a terminal / ID Factory hub last time I visited that place.

On one end of the spectrum, I might actually go back and play this revamp, but...

I'm still waiting though when the CS14 will return (S14 Kouki); though I know with its no-involvement in the series, I doubt this'll happen.

Thanks for the encouragement, but the sad truth is MT is always faster than AT drivers. Especially in TA. I always have problems even trying to get gold on Akina DH. In the top 1000 TAs on the list, all of them are MT

Yes. Yep i transfered.

Firstly , they downgrade the cars. (Always,and irritating.) full spec to see full power.

And some courses, when u turn alot, can really cut down the speed, alot,really.

Only the colours of ur car are kept when u transfer. U will get free continue ticket everytime u play. (Once used , next day) - valid 1 week

I've kept my R32 from WMMT1 until now in WMMT4 and sure as hell would be in WMMT5...Aside from having to redo story in WMMT2 and 5 plays of story mode in WMMT4 (didn't full tune in DX+), the car has been full tuned for nearly 10 years

Hmm.......

I'm dissapointed with losing the externals since I've had that for a few games but I'm really glad about the avatar parts. That's the one I care the most. As for internal parts, losing it all is pretty much normal with the exception of 7. That was a good thing, but I'm not really surprised they removed it.

I know it's painful to see money fly. But there is always smart way to spend less money.

Ghost ta is used like a battle so you know which part your ghost is slower or faster..

Well this game created by who? $EGA. Obviously they want you pay more.
Even the tuning is cheaper than d7.... Characters stuff can be gain again.
As I say pay more, you sure can get what you want.
Find it costly or too much hard work? Don't play. Its up to you whether you want to spend the time.
Please appreciate that $EGA update the machine and new function offered.

Updating the machine, allowing you to transfer your data only to keep the car + name and not the achievements / upgrades / hard-earned avatar parts is no different from starting at stage 0 - it's an utterly pointless data-transferrable update, not to mention a stupid move. Its' like IDAS3 to IDAS4 all over again. There's nothing noteworthy to appreciate about it.

Well it's based on your attitude, imagine those people get wing in D7. Doubt they even complain.
If players find insulting, they can shift to WANGAN by all means. As you mention are your own point of view.
As I mentioned, all the way long $EGA made it very clear that every new version some part will not bought forward.
Many player even put more effort than others doesn't even complain when those effort they put in are all gone.
I'm not arguing with you, just pointing out those are already happening past years down the road.
You can ask around and people do agree with my facts. I'm not coming out with a new claim.

I can agreed utterly pointless data-transferable update for D8 as they only give you your cars, color, d-coin 12.
There's nothing noteworthy to appreciate about it, then don't play and complain. Quite simple, knowingly $EGA will reset.

Actually I am one of the player in Malaysia who has 2 cards with wings and one card with max crosses (100% achievements) and I know my data carry forward is downgraded to basically 0%, I do not see any problems on that. All is well with me, a new journey is always more exciting.

Now I'm a guy with a job.

So, in all honesty, how can you guys justify the increased cost and the account reset that ID makes you put up with? I mean maybe it's because I have a really low skill ceiling, but I'm fed up with this kind of thing from Initial D. I'd rather save up for Gunpla or, I dunno. An actual car.

Well I suppose it depends on personal view, I collect gunplas too up to an amount of 61 MG and 1/100 now and still increasing. But I am still able to coop with other hobbies by proper planning and budgets. And yes I am a person tied up to working hours also. But of course, with the gain of one thing comes another's sacrifice, if you really want to excel in the game and all, you really have to put in all you got and not holding back but this will cause you not to be able to have time for other stuff. Hence once again, it depends on what individual wants for themselves.

Well its okay to be displeased of $EGA but what can you do? You just going to play it as you like the
game.
Example, USA side no online version, still they order the offline version cause they want to play.
Why not you guy complain direct to $EGA since so many feedback? I wonder they bother to reply even you are the customer.
I may say stuff direct, but nothing personal.

Hence, why I'm not playing anymore. I got sick of it and left. I was under the impression that it would be different for you guys because the fire still seems to be in most of you.

With regards to the US getting the game, I feel that's a bad comparison. The Phillippines is still a third world backwater country that does things in the same backward manner. Online gaming is viewed as what spoiled or delinquent schoolchildren do in internet cafes instead of going to class. We don't exactly run by the same standards.

Given that, there'd be no point in us complaining since we're far from being the target market, which, I suspect doesn't even reach past Japan's borders like Gundam games.

I mean. Look at the Philippine section.

Crickets. Crickets everywhere.

It depends on the person anyways, but mainly it's because it's really fun and unique. There very little racing games out there that I find anywhere near as entertaining as IDAS, with 4 being a huge exception. Of course, the new game has to be good and sometimes it's a gamble but as someone who's started playing from D5 until D7, every new game thus far has been really entertaining and better than the last; at least for me personally, some will disagree of course. I don't know whether D8 will top D7 because I have yet to play it but I'll play until I get a Full Tuned car and play with that physics. My spirit is always breakable though, especially if they release anything as horrible as D4 (I don't think D8 is like that but I always have that fear prior to trying out the new IDAS game)

I played a little but of Wangan when I was studying because there was no IDAS machines around, but I never found it anywhere near as entertaining.

Besides, all you really need is one Full Tuned car to play the main part of the game and if you pick a high tier car, you're pretty much set. Most of the investment is in training. This is not to disagree with your points because it is expensive and some of the resets this time goes more than necessarily IMO, but the above is the general reason I plan to continue.

And at least in a country with online available, I also have to say the online is a factor too since it feels awesome to race againts other players that are around your skill level, that factors into the fun factor for me.

Indeed, the rankng system is a true indication of your skill level, except some cars like the 86 might be better than other cars. So your initial car choice can still make a difference on the rankings.

So that initial car choice still plays the same cards as that of the home course advantage rule back in the old IDAS? Looks like some things won't ever change with Sega. If that's the case, then we know what car would be bandwagon'd at the get-go.

Thanks man. I went through the TA rankings and made a list of the top 3 cars on each course. It's pretty interesting coming from a V3 background and looking at everything that's changed. I'm looking forward to playing! Just got a picture of our upgraded cabinets a little bit ago:

Image is pretty blur but it appears that the top right "internet" logo on the screen is gray. Also there are red words on top left so it is pretty much confirmed there is no internet.

We've been told we're getting full networking for the machines, but the versions we'll be playing not be English. As far as those machines, not sure what version yet but when I found out more I'll let you know.

I'm kinda bummed out that we won't be able to read anything, but at the same time we'll be basically on the same rankings server as Japan.

I assume if you're connecting to network then you're using EXP. If you are getting network, then that's pretty awesome!

They might just get a seperate EU or North America based server, because ping will be an issue too. Well, SEGA sure don't want us to play online battle with laggy cars warping around the entire track right?

@NBK if your location is North America, it is actually pretty surprising to see IDAS getting exported again. but language is gonna be an issue isnt it?

Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia wont wave a problem because the Chinese people can understand Kanji anyway. But I'be heard the menu is half english half japanese.

Play more you will know what is what.

I know the games relatively new, but is there anywhere with a good number of video resources yet? I'm trying to find some videos with the courses I don't know to get an idea of the speeds and how they drive in the current version, but the majority of what I've found so far is only older versions.

Somehow I doubt this, since there's very little arcades that support this as it is and the most that we are aware off use the JPN version (which you aren't even supposed to use outside Japan). Even in the scope of Europe and North America, I don't see there will be enough machines we to create a server. It's possible but I doubt it.

On the flipside, the current system will have the issue of timezone differences. Afterall, arcades close at night.

Found this video and I'm curious: what exactly is going on with his brake and gas? You'll have to bear with me, I've never had the chance to play anything past AS3 at all, so this is new to me. It appears to be some sort of mutated form of eraser. What is he doing exactly and what is the technique called? It appears he's holding (or pumping) the brake while pumping the gas. Any insights?

What you are seeing is what (as SonicSP calls it) Brake Acceling. This is how one goes through hairpins as fast as they can.

If you want to have good times, this is VERY important to do.

I actually don't know, mainly I tap around e 3 or 4 times and it usually works. The car doesn't lock, it mainly depends on the wheel.

Trust me, we know how that life is. Back in IDASV3 when were playing every day, we didn't even have jobs we just got lucky bargains and whatnot. Now we're adults and have jobs we can actually afford to play games when we want instead of waiting for bargains/cheap days.

so it'll be a combination of getting lucky bargains and having enough money to play...lol. i'm glad Round-1 has a membership. and i'm also glad that its 18+ after 10pm and 21+ after midnight.

EDIT: also, does anyone have pics of the ZN6 aero kits? i've stumbled upon a few on youtube but would love a clear view of them

Hey at least you got something you could call "modern". Chicago had a single (I wouldn't even say fully functional) V4 machine for like a month and that was new as it got for us until Round 1 was announced here with ID7AAX, then later on upgraded to ID8. We're not behind on something for once, it's a good feeling. Hope you get upgraded soon. I miss jumping on these forums and others like it to discuss IDV3 with good players. The competition was so fun back then, I want it to be like that again.

Yeah we've been stuck on ID3 for like what, 4 or 5 years? We had a single cab of ID4 for a month, and it only had cards for two weeks, then it vanished. We're literally jumping ahead 5 versions. heh you haven't seen Gameworks in Seattle either, it's like time travelling back to 2008 arcade.
We got ID4, ID3, WMMT3, WMMT2. Not to mention ID3 card readers are dead, ID4 ink never got replaced, so you end up with blank cards. 2 out of 4 MT3 machines are always down and they never bother to fix MT2 machines...it's just been sitting there like junk for years.

To my knowledge, everyone cannot access those cars. I dunno why Sega did this but, eh whatever. Hopefully we, in the US at least, can access them as they are unlocked.

Recently Hakone was unlocked as well as the Tag Team Battle, which was locked before. I have NO idea why they do that.

I dunno about that one. Perhaps? But then again it IS in the system ready to go, hell you can test drive them in the RivalSide mode. (Well except the BRZ since it's a more modern car.)

He means like the game's main menus for navigating, especially purchasing and modifying cards/cars, and for getting to different modes, and pointing out important things on each screen, since we'll have it only in Japanese and all anyone here speaks in English.

Okay guys, had a go at the game myself, so here is my review.

The new physics is pretty different. Now driving through a sharp curve does not necessarily means you just have to turn the steering to the max.

Instead, turning the steering all the way will actually yield less angle than turning it half. Also note that there is also speed penalty on turning the wheel too much. Your car can slow down by a lot if you try to turn like you have a spec 1 car in idas7.

The most ideal steering is to NOT steer much, and try to use brake and accel to turn your car.

I think this is SEGA's attempt to mimic the concept of load transfer, which you don't turn the steering much, but rather shift the car's weight for lateral acceleration, and thus turn the car, an advanced technique used by God Hand, and most of the pro racers in real life.

Well for the lower specs I can vouch for that. Again, what he said is only for lower specs, not the higher ones. The game does penalize you at a certain turning degree, so steering as little as you can is the best way to come out on top.

Once you hit full spec...well that's a different story. Brake aceeling and all that schmuck. SonicSP if you comment how brake aceeling Is catching on...um...I'll slap you via internet...I have nothing else to retaliate with.

I've got a question about game physics. Does this game have a penalty/boost system like D4/5/6 or is it a "drive as fast as you can without crashing" type like D3/7. Not counting battle boost AKA boost from being behind opponent in battle of course.

I currently have a Spec 2 car and I'm curious on how should I go about it. On one end, I don't really think I need to do Brake Acceling yet most of the time but I'm not sure whether I'm being penalized for not doing it. I see some players I'm battling braking at places they don't really need to (I can tell they're not full tuned yet since I've fought a FT car earlier today) and I can't help but feel like its D4, where they'll penalize you for not braking at certain places. I'm aware that turning really slows you down at this spec, but I just want to confirm/deny whether there's some sort of penalty system involved.

Basically, I'm just not sure whether I should be BC-ing or Brake Acceling for now while I'm at the power specs. I also assume the YouTube videos are full tuned so they're not going to be helpful until I reach their physics at higher specs.

All cars are slow at first. You'll need to upgrade it before it becomes fast. This can be done by spending points earned from races or just but and use D-Coins.

Exact amount to full tune a car is 1520 dcoins. So you can actually do the calculations yourself divide by 75 coins times by the amount your local arcade charges you.

Done tuning my 6th car, 7th incoming. Points are easy to get in this version, the first car tuning is a pain in the ass, after that, second cars onwards is like easy, by the time you realize you wanna tune cars, you already have the points.

D-Coins are only available if the machines are connected online and can be charged up in the factory menu. How much it costs on the other hand depends on how much your local arcade operator sets it. You can buy it anytime though as long the machine is connected online

No, it wont work in vancover. It will only work in HKG.

I think it's EXP if I'm not mistaken. If it worked for him last time in D7 it is probably because it is EXP. HKG machines are EXP so it should theoretically work. The ones in California though are JPN. I think I heard another mentioned that the one in Vancouver is EXP too.

But is N643 asking whether he can transfer his D7 card to D8 in Vancouver or whether he can play the cards he transfered in Hong Kong? If it's the latter, I think it shall work.

Ah, so it hasn't been upgraded yet then. Have you guys had JPN version of IDAS before in that arcade? I always assume you can only upgrade one way but I'm also not privy to the how much of a machine is changed with every upgrade. I'd always assumed that EXP can only upgrade to EXP and so forth.

Now the turning speed reduction is significantly dropped, and I felt like I can finally get my car to turn easily without worring about turning the wheel too much and reducing speed.

Indeed, the full spec car is much easier to drive, even when compared to spec 5.
Your car will be very easy to handle when you are left with 1-2 upgrades

Urs is temporary password given by sega after the game and u issue,which will expire 3 days.

D coins is selling at 1-5 credits.

I dont think so. They recently alerted me about d net expiring soon and ask me to extend ( if ur dnet days is 6 days remaining.)

They will remove ur team (if u are the leader) and a certain item i forgot. I am sure they will dissolute all the items for d net requirement.

You can . I can too. D net allows you to see who is playing at what place.

Just go to initial d net (eng ver) and go to where to play at the the top of the page and select singapore. And then select the location we have here. There u go, u can see who played at where.

I am just astonished how is everyone getting above 20000 like it was so easy. I have no idea what i am doing but each round i can get at most 2600 drift points. That x5 is only like 13000 :/

Well, I created a team but I don't even know if i can abandon it and join another one.

My team's name is 赤城レッドサンズ and it does not aim to achieve anything. Just totally for fun. Anybody can join. It is still being requested btw

I mean of course you'll be thinking yes, join a good team, but don't forget the team's reputation depends on your contribution also, unless if you are just playing for fun. Then by all means, create 3 cards and make all 3 cards join a team. Like Expresslvr did. Is not really that bad.

Oh and one more thing, wanna rank up straight from E3 to A3? Full tune your car in LotS before enter Online Battle, and win 4 times in a row by winning them a huge advantage. Voila, straight to A3 biggrin.gif

If you are rich, use dcoins to full tune your car, you'll need 1520 dcoins to tune from spec normal to full tune. Dcoins come in a package of maximum 75 dcoins for RM15 in Malaysia. Repeat buying dcoins and tune your car, should settle in less than 20 minutes. That's the rich way.

The poor way is to play legend for 79 rounds until full tune, or you could play tag battles for around 54 rounds to full tune, either combination works too. You'll need 48510 points to full tune one car for dnet members and 53900 points to full tune one car for non dnet members.

The last way is you have lots of lots of points. Just use it and full tune your car in less than 2 minutes.

Basically you only need 2 cards to open up a team and at your ease you can choose to be active or inactive that way.

Okay guys this isn't the boy scouts, but I'm just gonna tell everyone take a chill pill. Initial D Arcade Stage is just a game. Game are meant to be fun. If you are raging over a game, you already lost the purpose of playing. No need to be angry when people shine you...

So.......if I may ask to restart things, is this a "go as fast as you can" game like D7/D3 or a game with boost and/or penalties like D4/D5/D6?

Assuming it's the former, I should try to work with whatever maximize my speed right? Going to start EXP card from stock soon so figuring out and since it would be awhile until Full Tune so thinking of what techniques to use in the meantime.

I really hope you do know what you are saying, besides the facts that you mentioned above. Honestly I just want to say if you don't want to enter my team, I would rather prefer you not to enter at all, but after going all the trouble and approve you into my team, you left after one day stating you can't find ways to interact with LYNN or other members of the team in Sunway. You told me you knew them and you were gonna interact with them, which is why I took all the trouble to go click and accept and approve you into my team.

At one point, I don't mind you leaving, I am just disappointed with fooling with the team's name, in and out anytime you like. And it's just one day. Just somehow sad that people can do things like this.

SonicSP: I think its more D7 then anything, I don't see or experience any boost during gameplay. Yeah, use anything you can to maximize your speed. BA, few instances of BC, letting go of accelerator for a bit, anything you can to maximize your times.

In my experiences with the 86 GT I found that Sadamine UH has a max speed of about 150 km/h, much lower compared to the 160 km/h of D7. So I have to remember that I can push the turns a bit more...but damn you muscle memory!

Pretty sure I've been in my fair share of " team fights ". Mostly Central vs. East coast players, and not on this forum but looking back on it it was really stupid. Was kinda fun too, brought out a lot more competition between players in game.

Well, it's basically releasing accel, tap brake and then pressing the accel again. All done very quickly. BC stands for Brake Cancel.

Our ID8 machines are going to be charging 1$ a play but 9$ a card (which is insane to me considering v3/4 cards were like 2 bucks each back in the day). But the guy said it's worth it since you can have as many cars as you want on a single card.

Max cars you can have is three. Yeah a $10 card might be much but since we don't have internet access (yet) the card can be used an INFINITE (no pun) amount of times.

Perhaps you should try scrapping a full tune car and buy back again. For ours it is free to buy back a full tune car you scrap before and you get it back for free too. So basically any cars you bought before in the game, you get it back for free whenever you want and with the spec you last have it. So basically in one card I already have 10 full tune cars. Sure garage lets you keep 3, but having this feature is like the garage has infinity slots for your cars. I'm not sure if offline side has this feature but if I am not mistaken it has such feature even if offline. Do try out and let me know?

Welp we got to play on our machines today for the first time. We don't have network unfortunately. But it's incredibly fun, and rather challenging. We all spent most of the day tuning cars, had one in-store battle between myself and Pasta. I had a friend take a video, will be uploading it to youtube shortly. Once we've full tuned cars we'll be going after some times even though we can't post them to the rankings officially.

Yes, if the machine has online service. Unfortunately it's only applicable to Japan and some Asia countries.

a shine is usually used to indicate 2 things, as far as I know. feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

1) to, apparently, 'insult' your opponent. a shine for your opponent can only be seen if you are at the front, and it basically means you are in the lead.

2) if it's someone you know, it could meant a message like 'good game', 'nice match' etc.
