Initial D World - Discussion Board / Forums > Initial D Arcade Stage > ID Special Stage (PS2)

Not sure if this should be in with arcade stage. I've recently picked up IDSS again while doing some old school nostalgia.

Tragically, I lost my old memory card with my time records. Mine were typically at least 5 seconds off world records, but I mostly stick to the FD, and I'm using a controller and AT for simplicity.

Anyone know what the best times were for tracks in IDSS? (except beginner Myogi and Usui - don't care) For the FD if possible.

I had a couple good runs (for me), Akina UH 3'02 or so, and Shin Myogi 2'12 or 2'14 but I don't even know what I'm even aiming at for most tracks anymore.

Mainly looking for what good FD times would be for the following (both DH/UH or IB/OB):

Akagi
Akina
Happo
Shin Myogi
Shomaru
Momiji
Enna

I found a couple IDSS videos on youtube, but it's only 2-3. (Shin Usui sil80, Iro DH Evo)

Anyone know if old vids for good IDSS time attacks are out there somewhere? I'm trying to relearn the tracks to pull some decent times again, without having to trial-error every turn again. For tricky courses like Shomaru it'd save me time.

This definitely goes within the arcade stage area, I'll b moving it there. There is a time attack chart on the forums.

EDIT: Did I mention I hate typos? Cause I do.

Because good job in moving it into the Version 5 subforum.

Shush, I have no idea if that would be the appropriate place...and I was somewhat tired when I did. So I made a mistake >_<.

I'm in the same boat CdnFD. All of my replays were saved on my fat ps2 HDD. I fired that bad boy up to learn all my saves were gone. I have some Special Stage videos saved to my hard drive so I can give you some times.

DHD = Downhill Dry
UHD = Uphill Dry
IBD = Inbound Dry
OBD = Outbound Dry

Akagi DHD EvoIV 2'17'644
Akagi UHD Cappuccino 2'18'6xx
Akina DHD Trueno 2'51'206, When I stopped playing I believe the world record was 249 or 248 with AE86.
Akina DHD DC2 2'52'0xx
Enna DHD GC8V 2'17'3xx
Happo IBD Cappuccino 2'18'xxx
Happo OBD FD3S 2'18'7xx
Iro DHD EvoIV 2'39'513
Momiji Line DHD EK9 2'27'2xx
Shomaru IBD DC2 2'59'7xx
Shomaru OBD RX7 spirit 2'57'093

The videos are not the greatest quality but If you're interested I can upload them somewhere.

Very nice times, vegita8888. I've looked around for an IDSS ranking but their site is no longer available. Haven't played that for years already but I'm interested to play again.

Thinking back how I played IDSS back then makes me wonder how I managed to FT a car in a single day... I could hardly basic tune any car now. I should have kept the save files. :/

You can look under SS there (be wary of the cheated times as they're quite obvious) 1st half is Dry ranking, 2nd half is Wet. Course/Car Model/Matrix

I dismissed that page once because I looked at the matrix form with plain ranking without times.

Didn't know I could see the times on Course list. Lol. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the confidence but those aren't my times. Those are times from videos I found on my hard drive. Most of them are from tomo.

If anyone is actively playing this, I actually recently threw together a time attack thread http://www.rolling-start.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=396.

A friend of mine recently got me playing the game again and I just decided to make a thread after we went back and forth on some times. Would love to get some more activity over there if anyone is interested. Not a particularly high level of play currently but we're looking to improve.

Id love to join in I'm just not down with maxing out all those cars again. Does anyone have a save file with infinite points or all the cars max tuned? All the ones that matter anyway. AE86, DC2, Capp, FD, FC, GC8V, Sil80, EK9, basically all the course kings. A Ps2 classics save would be great because thats what i would be playing on but a regular ps2 save is ok too. I'll just convert it. Thanks in advance

We've all just been going from our own saves, most of my times are with a basic tuned FC3S. I wouldn't worry too much about full tuning for this honestly.

Nice! I checked the Ps2 emu on my PC and it had a DC2 just under basic tune. I'm in this.

Awesome! Looking forward to seeing you over there smile.gif

Despite being able to play repeatedly without worrying about tokens, my Usui CCW best is only 2'43"656. Maybe the world record 2'41"792 comes from the use of TST with steering-gear set. :/
