I wont trust google or wiki on instructions on how to gap a ring. you want blow by but not too much, I'm building a VG30DET capable of 700hp if i want but i could also make 250hp. how do i know what kind of gap i need for a 500 - 700hp motor? just as an example lets say my ring gap for my VG30DET is around 0.15mm from the factory, how much more do i need to open it up for 500 - 700hp? And I find it hard to believe your power claims and build claims when you're asking these sorts of questions all the time. I would think someone who knows what they're doing when building engines would already know. Then again, looking at your track record for builds thusfar... |

Oil control is minimum .015". I looked up an SRP sheet as well, their numbers are the same. For higher boost levels I'd run an extended break-in period at those numbers, like 1500 miles or so without boost and a ton of vacuum pulls. You could run a higher gap and do a shorter break-in, or tighter and longer, but you probably won't notice a big difference in blowby or cylinder pressure once you throw a ton of boost at it anyway, they just need to be tight enough to get a decent seal to retain compression. |

N1, ^^ he's the reason people ask car questions here. But shouldn't this have gone in the White Ghost thread? [ Post made via Mobile Device ] | ||
