Well at least the premise is more Dancougar Nova than Gundam 0079/Zeta.

I was expecting more Kira spamming his multiple gun/dragoons hacks melting everybody's face. pinch2.gif grin2.gif

On the subject of the new designs...I actually like how it's moving away from more 'traditional' Gundam designs. The original Gundam was innovation, but it's seemed to me like Gundam designs have been stagnating for a bit, and while it's not a major change, it's still enough that it gives off a different feeling.

Sure, I'd hate it if the Gundams bore no similarity to other Gundams, because, you know, it's GUNDAM, but there's enough similarity there that I like it for being different and not too different.

I'd have liked it if they did a little more around the legs, though.

That has more to do with the fact that the main mecha designer is being pushed aside a little for 00...

Nah, I'd still say it's different even in that respect. Although it's certainly got something to do with it; a lot of mech designers nowadays(mostly in the real robot camp, but anyway) seem to use a lot of the same elements, so even though the change isn't major, it's still a change.

I'd have liked to see a more unconventional mech, though.

I saw that over at Gunota... I am guessing that first side story listed will be released at a slow pace?

Since it's Gundam it's in Japanese. It's only in dub when the series is done and it's being aired in other countries. Dunno which groups are planning to do it, but I think they'll be a large number since this is GUNDAM we are talking about.

Just finished watching the 1st episode. When I saw the trailer for some reason I kept thinking of the look of Gasaraki. Well after seeing the first episode it's probably just me, although the costumes still feels like the costume of the Gasaraki pilot and somewhat the character design a bit, but again it's probably just me.

The budget wise sure impressed me for a first episode. I guess the fact they are showing only 25 episodes and taking a break before doing the next 25 episodes is a good thing to keep the budget high as well as giving time to refine the story.

Gundam Dynames is sweet. I love any sniper based idea things too much in first person shooter games so it's no surprise it's my favorite Gundam of the four. The fact that Miki Shinichiro is also the voice actor of Lockon Stratos made it even better.

thank god for HD raws...

and HD subs haha. so far I'm picking up episode 1 from Nyoron subs. one because their name sounds cool, and two they have mkv and ass files for when I choose to ditch avi.

I hope they're good though, but there's always the other sub group (anonymous). while nyoron's HD rip is in avi, anon's is in h264 mp4

*edit*
so I did download the raw for ep1 before I found out about nyoron and anonymous...but before I started downloading the nyoron's hardsub I tried their sub file, which was surprisingly in-sync with the raw. it's some good subbing, didn't find any blatant errors.

now if only I could use subs with converters for the psp.. pinch2.gif

Hopefully sub groups that subbed the SEED series will sub Gundam 00. Since I can just stick to a group that I'm familiar with. Hopefully groups like Hiro, SEED-Fansubs, or Mendoi.

^
the raws and the subs from nyoron and anonymous were released in both SD and HD afaik.

episode 1 was good, it wasn't that action packed, but it's not really reeling me in that much. maybe when they get to a really battle-filled episode, but not now.

but since luckystar is done and wangan midnight only comes twice every month, i think i'll be downloading episodes when i have free time

y'know, the first episode usually isn't action-packed cause of story-building smile.gif

anyway, got a link to Nyoron's?

The first episode wasn't bad, it kind of did remind me of Zeta though... I wonder if GundamS and Seed Fansubs (I think that was the joint who did the version I watched) will release an encode that makes use of the fact that the series is aired in Hi-Def.
