- A theatrical version of Initial D is confirmed for release in August 2014. [Official Thread]
- UPDATES : Animax has confirmed that Final Stage will be available on its subscription-based VOD (Video On Demand) service starting May 16th, 2014. It will continue where Fifth Stage left off. Consist of a total of four episodes, Final Stage will be focusing on the long-awaited final 86 vs 86 battle between Takumi and Shinji. [confirmed]
- UPDATES : Avex has confirmed that the New Initial D The Movie will be a trilogy. First part of the trilogy is called Legend 1 -Awakening- slated for release in theaters on August 23rd, 2014 (Japan Only) [confirmed]

Pretty much. Think about it like this: say there's a really poor adaptation of a series. It's so terrible, but you know no one is ever going to do another adaptation of the same thing because it's already been done. Would I be okay with that? Hell no. I'd gladly wait another year or two for someone to come along and do a proper adaptation that's amazing. Am I saying Fifth Stage is that bad? I don't even know, really. It's kind of borderline, for me. I haven't seen the latest two episodes, but it doesn't look like it's getting better. It seems to be getting worse. And it's bad enough already that they've cut out a sizable portion of the story. I'm pretty worried about how this whole thing will go. | ||

That's the way you run the forum  You should award users and forum spectators for registering or browsing your forum, who come checking for new updates. And a release schedule like that is how you do it. You have my respect!! PS: Since 5 and 6 came out while i waited for the subs i've watched stage1 and stage2 just because i'm hooked on ID right now | ||

To me it seems exactly like every other Initial D adaptation. They have always cut out a couple small scenes from every manga volume. | ||

I guess this has to come from a perspective of someone who follows the manga. Although I personally usually favor manga over anime in most situations, I just can't bring myself to read Initial D because I can't understand what the hell is going on. So for me, I don't think 5th stage is bad, but I'm sure it's not as good as the manga.
