Ryosuke also stated that the fog allowed them a chance to win which meant if there wasn't fog Ryosuke wouldn't have been able to come up with a winning simulation. I thought they already proved that power didn't really matter in the downhill..why was even Ryosuke not confident that Takumi could win in normal conditions. I can understand if the FD is no match for Zero's if it was super powerful on the uphill. This may due to the translation of the anime I watched, but Ryosuke says "Due to these circumstances (the fog), we now may have a chance to win".. Maybe someone who read the manga can elaborate on this for me please ? |

Because he spent a bunch of money on it in order to win. But for the most part, it's bullshit Initial D logic. If having a faster car mattered in the world of Initial D on the downhill, Takumi would have lost every race he's been in. |

During the race, the condition favors Takumi more according to Initial D logic where drift in wet is faster than grip. Not to mention Okuyama couldn't see through the fog while Takumi's third eye can |

Because Shigeno had to write something to make it believable that Takumi might not win and that he isn't the generic shounen winning-streak golden child he is so that people wouldn't get bored and stop buying his manga. | ||

Logics flew out of windows multiple times already so...any gripes about BS physics are pretty much the same as beating a dead horse. It's not like many of us don't realize it already. |

For instance, when Takumi vs the white Lan Evo thug during his 4wd complex. Everyone even Takumi saw that Evo was really fast on the downhill but the driver was simply not that great. Flash forward to this race with Okuyama, the s15 was customized to be "fast" (in dry conditions) and i assume balanced specifically for this course. Moreover, he was considered a top racer in Kanagawa Prefecture since him and Zero were second to last team to race Project D. The rain/wet/fog conditions simply amplifies the fact that Takumi is a racer that is not limited by weather and does not rely on the abilities of the car to win. |
